Calling *Avatar Kuruk's* story tragic is a *massive understatement.* He sacrificed so much to protect the human world (his memory as the Avatar, his health, his connection with his closest friends), but the world will never know of his sacrifices and only remember him as a mediocre Avatar despite being quite the opposite. Still, I enjoy your artwork for the *Kyoshi novels.* Keep up the great work!
I love how much the books were able to get away with while still feeling like a genuine Avatar story. I hope more books are made like this about other Avatars.
We’ve seen past avatars take up the spot of their sucessors for a bit to settle present moments, but seeing them settle unfinished business with dear ones is something fans have always hoped for! This is beautiful.
you know this is beautiful right? down right beautiful. Kuruk loved Ummi. And Hei-Ran loved Junsik. Yet the relationship between the two was something that couldnt be broken. Even transcending lifetimes.
Sometimes friendships are so strong, they transcend lifetimes. And as in Past Lives, maybe Kuruk and Hei-Ran were the 7999th layer, so Kyoshi and Rangi could meet and fall in love on the 8000th layer.
I like to think that just before Kuruk is about to manifest himself through Kyoshi, Kyoshi speaks in his voice before Kuruk completely manifests himself through Kyoshi. It’s like how Kyoshi manifests herself through Aang at his trial at Chin village to set the record straight. Similar thing here.
Who here gained a greater respect for Kuruk after learning what happened to him and do you guys believe that Father Glowworm’s curse on Kuruk’s/The Avatar’s soul is what caused the misfortune of every Avatar after him?
It might be possible for some but it can’t be the cause of every bad thing to happen to the avatar. Bad thing happening to you are just part of life after all. And when you have the life of an avatar it can get bad in a lot of absurd ways
I think the curse only applied to those who knew Father Glowworm’s name. So maybe Kyoshi had the foresight to keep that nugget of information away from Roku. Or maybe the curse stopped spreading when Father Glowworm was destroyed.
*Before Shadow Of Kyoshi:* Man, Kuruk was such a bad avatar. What were the spirits thinking when they gave him the responsability? XD *After Shadow of Kyoshi:* Woow...the poor man really got the short end of the stick. :(
I hope Aang was able to tell the true story of Avatar Kuruk before he died. After everything he went through, Kuruk deserves to be remember as more than just a playboy who neglected his responsibility.
You knocked it out of the park with your art as always kkachi!!! I loved the choice of music too, that last track (the Korrasami one) always gets me emotional and was perfect for Hei-Ran and Kuruk’s reunion. Kuruk’s short life was so tragic, but this comic makes me hope that something like this did actually happen and both Hei Ran and Kuruk got some closure.
Hei-Ran, the world will never know what he did. Future generations will revile him; in the physical world as a drunk with no sense of honor, and the spirit world as a monster who unleashed a catastrophe. But I think he wanted you of all people to know the truth. He wanted to live on in your memory, not as a the Avatar, but as a man. But he was forbidden to tell you himself. And that's why he told me. Hei-Ran, history will never know what he did. No one will ever learn the truth. His story... his debriefing, will endure only in your heart. Everything he did, he did for our people. He sacrificed his life and honor for his native land! He was a real hero! *He was a true patriot.*
I genuinely adore this, god damn. Always wanted to see some conclusion between Hei Ran & Kuruk and this wrapped it beautifully for me honestly, all without feeling convoluted or like a stretch--great stuff all around!
God, you freaking did it. You got me going. My had to stop and stiffen my lip when I read what happened to Kuruk. I was dead wrong about him. Without a doubt, the most misunderstood and unfairly hated Avatar of all time. And it breaks my heart that he and Hei-Ran never got their life together. Thankfully, things worked out for both of them in terms of romance and we got Rangi out of it... But you could tell that they were meant for each other and it just never came to fruition.
what a beautiful art you created. the drawing, the music. it gives me goosebumps watching this video, i almost shed tears. I read the novels because i saw your artwork in devianart. thank you for introduce me to this extended world of avatar. keep up your amazing work.

I really want to know how season two of korra play into Kuruks storyline like the way she calmed the spirit could kurruk not have done that or were not dark spirits and the angered spirit not the same. 🌸
Yes please! Kkachi actually did attempt making that scene with the tea house confrontation, you can find it on his deviantart. But he never got around to finishing it, i really hope he does. Though I wonder how it would look like if he got to the part where Yun killed Jianzhu, as that would look really bloody and gore and gruesome. But I’d still like to see the whole thing.

The Truth will be exposed And the evidence will make sure his sacrifice will not go unnoticed.

It's wonderful and full of emotions ❤️ the OST from the Lok sounds really good
@CipherRage-tp5ql I agree. They definitely showed off some R rated stuff in the Yangchen novels too.
i was surprised bc the part of kuruk getting taken advantage of was pretty R for a kid's show, but dam...that was tragic i cried

The part about kyoshi being his successor and hei-ran's daughter dating Kyoshi made me chuckle a little bit.
what is funny is, kyoshi thinking it is a good thing hei-ran and kuruk didn't end up together because there will be no rangi.
