I believe these seals are hungry, they get into the fishing lines and nets to get some food. Humans are sucking up all the fish, putting it into pet food. We've got to carve out dedicated 'Marine Reserves' for healthy, sustainable ecosystems to survive in. No fishing at all! Share the planet! Unless this is done, we are next in line.
There are some rescues where it's a 100% guarantee that the seal would have died soon after had it not been for you guys. This was definitely one of those rescues. Incredible work you guys are doing, thank you.

@@thehulk86 1. I've often seen seals doing that, using the waves. 2. He could not have been panicked if he was swimming back to shore. 3. He was probably happy to be free and enjoying the speed. Who knows, he may even have decided to go fishing now that he can again.

Sometimes I wonder when a seal is very close to them and aren’t scared, have they seen rescues before and maybe recognise their smell? That sounds bad 😂 I don’t mean that the team stink. I don’t know anything about seal’s vision if the can recognise people etc
@@lilacscentedfushias1852 No, no, indeed, that is how most any animal might recognize a person they've been near before. Even dogs, when they *see* someone they haven't seen in a while, they still sniff to identify that person's individual scent before that tail starts to wag. :D

That poor creature was slowing dying of starvation, barely able to move. I'm so glad you saw the slight movement that caught your attention. Thank God for your compassion and determination.

Many species died out in the past when no mankind was around. Many extinction events have happened in history. ONLY mankind has saved and preserved other species for no reason beyond alturism. I adore mankind. Absolutely adore us all.
With all due respect, but lecturing and telling are important steps. Not everyone has the chance to go outside and rescue seals. I pick up litter, but I know enough people that can't physically do that. However, if they see anyone litter, they will lecture them.
