Had a 2-Door fridge go down this morning. Put everything we had in coolers, called a repair person (left message, still no return call) and prepared to spend big bucks on a new unit. YOU LITERALLY SAVED OUR BACON!! Jumped the circuit and BAMMMMM! Evap fans are running and the bacon is safe. Thanks a lot. New door switches on order for $25 each.
Dave, us “Old” guys are a dying breed, unfortunately a lot of the “super techs” today don’t have the ability to hack something together in an emergency repair situation. No part no repair. .......as I was once told by my first boss.....”look down your arm kid it’s the only hand your getting today”
Hello my Name is Allen Ogle I work for Atosa Warranty in Dallas TX. While what the tech did in the video will work to make the fans come back on the lighting in the unit will no longer work. If you want the lights to still function we recommend doing this bypass at the door switches themselves. Each switch has 4 wires going to them in order Black White Yellow White. Just take the black and white wires that are next to each other and jumper them at each switch. If done at the top of the harness like what is shown in this video you are eliminating the shared common which is needed to run the lighting.
Just got a new double atosa reefer in Idaho, and there are no light switches ? Your manuals are Junk BTW. I ordered the parts, do you think it is wired for it ? They have caps/plastic over the spots where the lights would go. MBF8507 Sku. pretty disappointing
Atosa and Empura, same stuff, both are from China and they look exactly the same. Same bat turds, same bat channel. Tecumseh is now using the square condenser fan motors on some of their stuff now. You can get them from United Refrigeration. Slightly different mounting, about 1/16th of an inch different on the mounting holes. I replaced one today on an Empura with the Tecumseh replacement motor. I still think it's from China as well.
Here if you make a temp repair to get the plant running, you can forget about going back to do it properly as the customer doesn't want to foot the bill for the proper repairs.
@@alwayslost3008 lol totally agree, that's probably a big motivator for me to do the best job possible. You still gotta do "temporary fixes" in refrigeration but too often it turns permanent
Hey Dave I have a 1 dr migali reach-in tallboy. Digital display. Evaporator fans not working. Open door light on no fan. Push door switch in light off no fan. I taped switch closed n I have voltage at connecter that goes to evap.but no fan. I also was getting OL on cabinet sensor. Im thinking evap fan/ cab sensor but this vid has me thinking. If door switch was bad would light no work as well ?
I own 3 atosa equitment and in 4 years old, my atosa freeze broke and got repair for free because it was before 2 years, i gotta say it was worth buying atosa for me

@@NorCal-refrigeration Dixell controller was replaced and is working perfectly now, I would recommend anyone that changes the controller out to log the current settings of the controller before removing it. Makes it much easier to change the default settings to the freezer settings.

@@NorCal-refrigeration yes the Dixell controller didn’t give power to evaporator fans. Do you know if the Atosa freezer evaporator fans turns off when it’s in defrost mode?
Instead of the wirenut and butt splices, put two pairs of male/female insulated spade connectors facing opposite directions. That way black plugs into white from the main harness for bypass, and when the switches get replaced, just put blk- BLK and wht-wht again.

Just ran into this right now, this saved my ass. I had no diagram to reference what’s what then I remembered Dave had a video on this

You can use a couple of male connectors and a jumper wire and not cut the wiring harness.
Hiw to test if it's the door switch?
The fan is running constantly on my Atosa refrigerator what do I need to replace?

Where to buy wire harness ? What part # ? Thanks
