I had a customer complaining about his reach-in freezer not cold enough. I looked at his condenser coil, packed like yours. I brushed it the best I could then used some cleaner. What looked like black syrup drained on the floor. Once cleaned, it worked perfectly. I have another customer with a three year old prep table, not as cold as it used to be. Months ago cleaning the cond coil helped but finally it wont go below 40F and is rising. I've never worked on a R290 before, don't have the tools. Another company got the job, but they have been there for three days, still not working. I just ordered a new scale, flammable leak detector, new hoses and some R290, so if I get back to his equipment, I'll be ready this time. Thanks for the video, that's real stuff. Jim
We are techs, but so much of what we do is clean. I've done so many of these TRUE and Turbo-Air machines in restaurants. I charge accordingly too. It's amazing the Health departments don't inspect these units and ICE MACHINES. We'd be busier for sure! I enjoy helping my customers and being in business. Thanks for sharing JM.
The ice machines are the worst. I have seen the ones that Pepsi service and makes me not want to touch the ice coming out of them. I go to the bins that I service at my job now because I know they are clean and every 6 months they get a good cleaning. Thankfully I can do that at the beginning and end of our season of service to the general public.
Health departments will inspect HVAC/R equipment if certain criteria are met. While working for Syracuse University, we had to pull the cabinets apart for inspection weekly and update the health commissioner's office with photographic evidence of the equipment being cleaned with their state seal on it. They would even go into our blast freezer and lift the brass floor drain grate to inspect the first two feet of the grey water line. We were expected to scrub the floors and rinse three times so it was always a pain with all the grout and mop fiber that would get stuck in there.
In my business, nearly 70% of our work is cleaning electronics and cooling systems. Appliances, machines, AC, etc. Never just take the complaint you hear. ALWAYS inspect from the power in, to the end result. Your videos help a lot. Thanks.
I'm surprised you can make all that dust in a kitchen and not catch any grief. I use a Milwaukee M12 pump sprayer and M12 wet/dry vac. No dust and easy clean up.
Definitely packed and needs new start components. 277 is like its about to die. I like the Viper for coils like this. That light is on sale on the HD app for 50 with no battery. Man, im loving that Portoblaster.
I’ve never seen a right angle drive adapter that you had on your drill. Where the hell did you get that and I’ve never seen a little power wash pump like that where did you get that? We don’t have those here thanks.
Hi JMT what are the most common size of bolts and nuts do you come across and which are generally a good comprehensive allround socket driver / set to use ?
Great Video. Thank you for sharing. May I ask a favor s, If possible, Could you teach how water source HVAC and HVACR work ? Could you make video about Water Source ?
Gotta at out a damp towel over the back of the coil of you're gonna blow it out in a kitchen. Honestly though that needed foaming coil cleaner like viper or nu-calgon and water. A .5gal pump sprayer and Milwaukee vac keep the mess to a minimum. As for the capacitor, a zip tie will solve that problem.
Another trick to help get the temp down faster you can put some card board boxes inside the cabinet That will fill up space Less space to cool reach -10 fast
replace the ptc relay, overload, start cap, clean the condenser, its been overheating. When its been cycling off on the overload, they only cycle so many times before they go bad.
The air compressor sounds like the purge is starting lol…and I don’t like that cleaner I prefer viper pn. RT375 all the way, much less harmful to the coils imo
Throw a wet rag over the condenser coil then blow out from the other side. You won’t have dust flying everywhere
Wise words from a wise man…wish I knew it from the start
Definitely will try this, thanks

How much would you charge for this type of job? I am trying to get back to this trade. I appreciate your answer
Awesome Video JMT that coil was crazy packed great job with that cleaning! 👏

That's gotta be one of the dirtiest, and then cleanest, coils I've seen yet. Nice job 👍🏻
Thanks for your hard work and good heart to show us that want to learn and do this work .

Man, im loving that Portoblaster.
As an hvac tech, this is really satisfying
Man you gave it some serious love jmt at it again
Great vid all these units need is a lil love and they’ll work better than ever. Not every problem is super dire refreshing to see.

As always interesting content. Well explained. Great job JMT.
Nice video. Just a quick question,
How do clean when the coil and other parts are on top of the refrigerator?
Tech tip! Wet a towel and place over condenser, so the dust will stick to.
I always use new Brite coil cleaner, run my hose with hot water, rinse and make it look like new, that way you avoid that kind of mess
Good work my guy. I'll definitely be looking out for that porta blaster tool
Nice job JTM ... Thx

Great job. I was thinking same thing overload. Why no one cleans equipment.
No you have t shirts
Broski, what does the tattoo say on your forearm? I been in your channel a couple years and always wondered
Looks cheap but pretty servicefriendly compared to overs I've been on 😅
Awesome video brother 🤟💯🌎
Poor compressor! Wonder how much lifespan it lost running that hot for so long?
Could a shop vac help with the dust next time ?
It should help for sure. Thanks for watching! 🔧⚡️
By the way love your stuff man keep up the good work!
FYI the start capacitor cap does open, use pliers
How much did you charge for a cleaning on this unit i was thinking with the visit $450 is that too much?
Saturday. $1k minimum
@@UwoSwansd61 wow thanks im getting into the right business then

I saw the light, JMT, hallelujah! I need to mend my ways if I'm ever going to make to the promised land! If we can just get Eric Adams to do the same!

Might as well tell them the needs the one next to that one cleaned also haha
¿Limpiaron el equipo a la derecha?
👍👍👍
hey is this a TRUE freezer? I couldn't tell from the description or title
Yes
I think he said it in the video
The air compressor sounds like the purge is starting lol…and I don’t like that cleaner I prefer viper pn. RT375 all the way, much less harmful to the coils imo
Use the viper stuff way better then that cleaner and it’s food grade also
I hope you got the ok to clean the other one also. Because you know it’s just as bad
You need a vacuum cleaner 😊😊😊
Need a respirator to work on that one!
