How long will a full tank last? Do you carry extra bucket of gas in your RV?

Our tank lasts around 500 miles - it’s a 70 gallon tank and we get about 7-8 miles per gallon. We don’t keep an extra bucket of gas because we flat tow our Jeep and we keep that tank full usually when traveling.

    Love you guys!
We’re looking at buying a 1983 Pace Arrow to live in full time. We’re based in Alberta, Canada. Any tips or suggestions?

That’s awesome! Definitely think buying older models (as long as the miles are decent and the condition is decent) is the way to go. You’re still gonna run into issues no matter the rig but older models seem to be built better over all. If you guys are on Facebook join some fulltime RV groups - posting questions there can be super helpful. If you’re in Canada do some research on winter RVing. We started out in Colorado during the winter and used some low wattage space heaters in our underbays and a thermometer down there for piece of mind. Honestly there’s so many firsts with fulltiming - it’s best to just dive in and learn as you go! Best to find some resources and fulltime communities to bounce ideas off of. Always feel free to reach out with any questions - it can be overwhelming but so so worth it if you love travel 💕 best of luck - stay in touch!

How long will the electricity last? Do you need to keep the car running all night to keep warm?

Our RV runs off four 6 volt batteries and we have 400 watts from solar panels to charge them. The RV uses propane for heat which doesn’t require much electricity to run. So the solar handles that just fine. But more often we plug in to power when we want to run AC.

Wow, I saw that damage. Do you guys know what causes a transmission to disintegrate like this? Does the RV have a high number of miles on it? Just curious.

Well I’m by no means a mechanic but I believe it was just a matter of that first ring breaking then it was sort of a chain reaction of casualties after that. The RV only has 60k on it but I’ve heard from other travelers with the same engine similar model that they in some cases replaced their transmission 3 times over the course of 150k. Then also speaking with the mechanic he said that this wasn’t the first time our transmission had work. Someone had been in there to rebuild it at least one time prior. But we’ve driven 15k on it and this has been our only real car trouble. Just a part of the lifestyle🤪

Interesting.... So someone did previous work on the transmission... and you got 15,000 miles. Boy, RV travel gets expensive fast. Being stuck for 2 weeks must have been a huge challenge.... but great to have dogs to distract you. My Bella is helping me stay happy during COVID. Hope your travels are smooth and safe for many miles. Thanks

@@jeanpeters2748 thanks so much! Glad to hear you have a pup helping you through this crazy time in the world! We tried to save up before hitting the road initially but this replacement definitely hit us hard. Covid aside this last year was pretty financially draining with dog surgeries and other repairs on the RV and Jeep here and there - but we’re still very fortunate to have each other and be able to travel like we do. Glad to be able to share it all with people like you! Best of luck to you and your Bella 💕
