    I’ve only been at worm composting since May and I’ve learned so much watching you it’s makes me feel confident to use some items that the so called experts say I shouldn’t. Thanks for doing what you do 💜💜💜💜🐛🐛🐛

      I'm always so scared that my bedding is going to get too dry and they're not going to be able to move around good enough and then they will starve! And then I end up keeping it to wet and it takes me forever to harvest. I would be SOOOO scared to put completely dry bedding! But I get it that the food will moisten it a lot..

      Everything becomes easier with time and trial and error. Remember you can always check in and make sure its not drying out.

    Thank you again for this update! I have started my wormfactory en few weeks ago with only cocoons, they pretty much all hatched and now the babies are working their way through dry leaves, shredded newspaper, coco coir and some foodscraps, I left the factory for 2 weeks and they are doing great! So happy it works! Go wormies!

    I also have and use the 360 and have for years. Watched your feeding and certainly the worms will take care of it for you. There is no really wrong way , but I usually save and freeze my worm food then thaw and blend and use as bokashi feed, but also of late have been using a dry mix along with the soft mix. Worms seem to be loving the change. Happy worming,,, Steve

    Hi Emily I saw your video refectory worm 360 I think your passion is awesome and I appreciate that and you do a great job with your videos. I also saw your video on Urban worm bag. I'm thinking about purchasing one of these and I was wondering which one you like better and or if you recommend something else. Thank you

    Bought my first worm factory this year and I'm still learning. I've never added that much food at any given time, I'm too afraid, Lol How often to you feed them that much and how many worms do you think are in there?
    Thank you for posting these videos and what you do! Those casting's look awesome!! Hope you're feeling better!

    • @TheCrazyWormLady
      @TheCrazyWormLady  5 років тому +1

      Thank you so much! Don't be afraid. Just slowly ramp up the size of the feedings and as you get a better feel for it... you will become more confident. I am not consistent at feeding my Worm Factory but a feeding of this size should last about 2 weeks. I think I have roughly 2,000 (2 pounds) of blue worms in this system.

    How does the Worm Factory 360 work for growing the largest European nightcrawlers? Is a large bin system better at growing worms for fishing bait?

    Not really fair to say the Worm Factory doesn't function as advertised when you've neglected it (and added citrus), though.

    thanks for all the helpful info. I saw that you added some powdery something called "dry mix". What is that? Also, can I use the scraps that come out of my paper shredder? They are pretty much shredded up white (probably bleached) paper

    • @carolblackwell6526
      @carolblackwell6526 2 роки тому

      officer paper is not supossed to be good for worms. It has bleach and acids in its processing.

    I just ordered 250 Red compost worms mix and 100 European Night Crawlers and I'm hoping to keep them alive and fed. I have one of these systems and hope it works out for me. What is your number 1 tip for a new worm mamma. I will keep watching your videos, thanks.

    I think the worms are going to have a hard time breaking through the skin of the oranges and bell peppers.

      slowly ramp up the feedings. If they finish it in a week you can feed more. Just slowly increase until you hit that sweet spot.

ANY advice would be greatly appreciated.

    I often wonder if neglecting (accidentally or on purpose)the bins every once for a few weeks in a while isn't actually better for the worms/ bin system.

    • @TheCrazyWormLady

      I think it is! I would have never thought though until I saw it.

    • @ralphbrown359

      No neglect of the bins causes the adults to die and yur only left with the worm capsules and the babies that hatch. Supposed to be handfulls of solid worms I only saw a scattering!

    No the systems fault that the human running it neglected it.. the worm factory works as described IF your actually paying attention and not neglecting it.. typical woman lol.. doesnt do something right so she blames the worm bin.. classic haha
