This 8 min video is worth more that 3 years of my dumb school... Teachers never bothered to explain those things, they just use A, V, Ohms like it's obvious, and nobody gets it...
Same here, it cost me $$,$$$ to learn a bunch of acronyms without any explanation at all.
honestly. my teacher was like uh... yea so this is ohm because it is so whats the charge oh i mean current? and everyone was like ??? what dude?? Bless this channel
www.circuits99.com
Yeah thats the critical view of most students and most of is truth coz most teachers are a bunch greedy lazy no bodies who use there title to pressurize and then there are teachers like mentors who actually care abt their students and help them
Thor Odinson I lol’ed 😂😂
This guy is good I’m telling you.
Even if you literally are not interested in that particular subject but when this guy is explaining you enjoy and understand the subject. That’s what I call it a Good teacher 😄
PLEASE COME TO MY SCHOOL AND BE MY TEACHER. Ive learnt more from this 9 min video then my hours of science, Thank you. I can take my science test with ease
How much did you get on that test??
@@craig__07 mf died
this is like the thing that they failed to explain in school which led me to struggle with this subject for the past 3 years. they literally didn't set the foundation. how can you expect to build knowledge on an unstable foundation? you can't. thank you khan academy, you are doing god's work
I love khan Academy!
Me too
This Minecraft red stone update is really confusing and overly complicated
GASTRO GAMING this hilarious
yeah i think its 1.8.2
😂😂😂
I don't understand.
lmfao
Hey Khan Academy i can’t thank you enough for all these great physics videos. They have helped me out so much and have made principles of physics much more simpler and easier to understand than what highschool taught me throughout the years. Keep them up!
The legend strikes again!I finally understood this after 10 days
You are literally the best teacher in the world. I've watched so many videos and yours is the only one that is simple, clear, concise, and actually makes sense. Thank You so much!
hour of reading text books = i kinda get it
10 min video = i totally get this
Wow. This whole time I've been messing with microcontrollers I believed that the flow of electrons was from the (+) terminal to the (-) terminal. What a misconception! Thank you Sal!
That's not what happens. Electricity is on the outside of the wire. it's the intersection of electricity and magnetism. Electrons dont exist.
@@ddstar good joke mate
Dude you would destroy the whole high school education system. I know you are right and so was and is Micheal faraday on this but due to f*cked up British men. We are hear studying false sh*t.@@ddstar
Man, I wish people would learn basic Newtonian physics before trying to use them to explain stuff like this. This video helped me sort out like 3 or 4 bad descriptions of how current works that people explained using backwards ideas of how water would flow or blocks would fall.... Thank you Khan Academy.
Excellent...cleared all my doubt...nice job sal
You're a good teacher ! Love from Indian students!!!
This is a life saver, my teacher doesn't explain any of this and then gets mad we the class doesn't do well.
I cant even express how helpful ur videos hv been for me in learning science especially physics. Lv u SAL KHAN!!!!!!!!
This video worth a billion views!
Great explanation!
Franklin has a 50% chance of getting current right and he messed it all up!
So annoying fact
@@hageraliart the reason hole current is used is today isn't because of Franklin, it's simply to keep a bunch of negatives out of equations because that would be cumbersome. Not some conspiracy to keep Franklin from being corrected.
the calm monotone voice and the knowledge with which he speaks and explains is the best!!
This video is helping very much to me in these corona condition
As always, perfect ☺
I love Khan Academy. Thanks for this great video, exactly what I needed.
Eventhough I knew this topic, I would listen to thus juz for you sir! Thank you for making me love physics! ❤😊
Very quality explanation. Will this series eventually get to how electromagnetic radiation is produced by the the change in electric and magnetic fields?
(I) is for current because it stands for inductance not necessarily because (C) was not available.
Zepherius Cole 😂 L stands for industance, not I
Isn't C the speed of light?
so who has a test tomorrow?😅
Me
Very useful
Mind. Blown.
Sal khan deserves everything Good in the world for making education a privilege.
thank u verrrrrrrrrrrrry much my exam is month u've really healped me a lot
Best teacher of khan academy 😊👍
I love your videos. really great. any chance of getting 1080p or 4k video?
Kahn Academy save me from going insane in jail. I watched hours of it. This is some of the most comprehensible presentations of this knowledge that ive ever found.
I'm learning about electricity in 2 classes. a tradesman class (HVAC, plumbing and electrician) and the second year of auto tech. in the auto class, we've spent more than a whole semester "learning" about electricity. literally nothing about cars. I'm taking a single semester of the tradesman class this semester, and we just started covering electricity. In that one day, I've learned more about electricity than the whole semester of "auto tech". This video is rad.
Traditional school after high school is generally legal racketeering. Pay to get your time aster unless you’re going for STEM. And even then, you have to use good judgment to not get swindled
I love they way you teach.... I hope if there was a lot of teachers like you....! 💐🙏
Even me
BTW do you Instagram
Thanks
Okay this is my topic for science. And I understand it now
Thanks a ton for this video I was going crazy for my grade 9th kid... from Canada.
Why does the flow rate decrease in the example here (4:22) but in fluids problems the flow rate stays the same but the velocity increases?
Edit: if current is analogous to flow rate, and resistors only increase the velocity (the flow rate stays the same), what is the point of using resistors/narrower or wider pipes?
Resistors don't impede the flow rate, what resistors do is that they convert some of that electrical energy into other forms of energy such as light, heat, etc. This means that some of the charge is lost and thus less charge proceeds. In light bulbs, the light that we see is actually a tungsten wire being constantly supplied with electric charge. As tungsten has a high resistivity (the inherent resistance a substance has), a lot of that charge is converted into light and heat energy giving us light.
@@gamerevolution173 nice explanation. Thanks for clearing it up
Just 5 minutes into the video and I've understood more about electricity better than ever.
awesome explanation,totally worth it
Thanks you so much, this video helped me alot i swear
Thanks Khan Academy !!!!!!
thxs so much
nothing 2 say...in 1 word...awesome
Think about electricity as water; and power lines as pipes. Voltage is = water pressure. Current is = water flow speed. Resistance is = pipe resistance.
Crazy I never knew it could be so easy thank you!!
I know this will sound like a dumb question, but with the bottleneck analogy, i cannot help but think that it is the normal reaction of the pipe wall to the container which is contributing to the prevention of flow. How would this "normal reaction" apply to the circuit case? Also, how would we tie in I=navq to this analogy? Disclaimer: I haven't watched all the videos yet.
Nickoh667 Historicalnik667 he said it wasn’t a perfect analogy. it’s a basic analogy used to understand these basic concepts.
Thanks man
My physics has always been an A but when i got sick I missed all the hours that explained this. So thank you in 12 hours i have my trimester test. You are my saviour. Thank you. When the corona virus ends i will make sure to place youre videon no oure physics class (we mostly use UA-camvideos).
Thank you!!!
Wow I literally perfectly understand this concept in less than 10 min.
who's this teacher, whoever you are, i just wanna say that you are a gift from the heavens, i hope you have a happy and peaceful life
thank you khan academy.... for teaching me]
Sal is probably the smartest person alive
This is helpful for academic school and i am one of this
Thanks 😊
I've always called current intensity because it starts with an I
TYSM! THIS HELPED SO MUCH !
Best Teaching ever seen
test is tomorrow, thank you for this.
Even after the analogy, I'm still confused about voltage. It was really confusing with the whole potential energy and whatnot. :\
It's still a good video, it's just that one thing that I need some additional help with. Just the concept of a volt.
Please upload npn and pnp transistor...
Nice
selection is tomorrow........ Thnqeww very much for this!!!!!!!!! awssm❤ video sal
Results?
Bruh! How the heck can yiu guys teach so well??!!
Good video.
amazing video just did two weeks of class lecture in 8 minutes
I love khan academy ♾/10
Sal Khan learn in MIT so he is very knowledgeable
Sure he's good but the reason doesn't has to be MIT. Take RaGa for example, if you're an Indian, you know what I am talking about.
Solved my problems very easily through this academy☺☺☺☺loved it
Hi,
I am trying the record videos about circuits. Please advise how to write this neatly on the screen and draw clear circuits.
thanks
We need more vdo like this
Thanks for sharing Sir.
This was excellent
This was very helpful, thank you so much
Best teacher in the world
Khan is a genius ❤️
Amazing
Excellent information.
You are a good drawer !
Very lame
Hi, I was doing a paper and one of the questions had two batteries in parallel and one in series with those two, how would I find the total voltage if they all supply the same voltage?
so ready to be done with mcat
You are the best prof
Nice video👍
Why would u want to use a resistor to slow it down?
We love Khan academy
thanks for the video bro
Great video!!!
Watching this video before my exams.😊
Thank you, Knan Academy. Good review of the basics. I didn't know Franklin instituted flow direction. Facts should change conventions.
hole current is used because it's cumbersome to have a bunch of negatives in solving for equations. He's incorrect about why we go from positive to negative, he should know that.
Great explanation. I really like this video and it teaches me more than all of my years at school
Love this
When will be this on khanacademy.org
thankyou!❤
We love you sal Khan
Thank you sr
Ka is very useful to me
Just in time for my electricity and magnetism course! more please :)
keep on watching nd surscribe
8:30 but before the resistance it wouldn't be 2 amperes though, would it?
What does (Coulomb)
At 5:45 when you say the potential energy per coulomb, do you mean that each electron is a coulomb and each electron has 16 volts? Or do the electrons collectively have 16 volts?
