Voltage Current and Resistance

  • This electronics video tutorial provides a basic introduction into voltage, current, and resistance. The unit of voltage is the volt which is a measure of electric potential energy per unit of charge. Current is measured in amps and 1 amp is equal to the flow of 1 coulomb of charge per second. Resistance is provided by device elements known as resistors. Resistance is measured in ohms. This video discusses how to calculate the voltage of a battery, the internal resistance of a hair dryer, and the current flowing in a circuit using ohm's law. It discusses the direction of conventional current vs electron flow.

    Hard to believe that I started watching these videos back in 2017 to find the slope of a line and the domain of a function for my algebra class. These videos got me through high school math and science and are no getting me through college to become an engineer! Your videos are amazing!!!!You are!!!!

    .
    iv been training myself in electronics for about 2 years now, i was going to school for it but lucky me got enrolled in a crooked ass school that was doin shady deals hirin horrible teachers not giving credible credits among many other things, needless to say i didnt learn shit so here i m.. im retrospect i should have demanded more at the time but i wasnt expecting them to get shut down under class action lawsuits for the exact reason i stated..anyway i digress.. u explained a few things in a certain way that iv never heard before n it really helped click a few things one of which is instrumental to my understanding and design from now on, and its goin to help exponentially so thanks again u make great videos

    To me, it's much more intuitive to remember I = V / R, since it directly expresses the concept that current is directly proportional to voltage, and inversely proportional to resistance. V = I x R feels merely like an algebraic result by comparison, which doesn't intuitively express much, so to speak

    • @plinker439
      @plinker439 Рік тому +2

      But current is the 'product' of voltage, it's originated from the potential difference. So we could say Voltage is more 'important'. This way the V= I*R formula helping more the understanding of the system.

    You must be the male, english speaking version of my first year secondary school (age 12-13) maths teacher... You are as good as explaining things as she is... Which means really good... She's the reason I like maths and thus physics (the teachers before her didn't explain certain important rules that well to me...)... I had to watch the vid on x2 tho, but that's because I already know a few things about the subject...
