    Ever since I started trying to get better at counter-strike, I’ve been intrigued by the idea of working with a coach. But I always felt like it wouldn’t be worth it for a lower skilled player like myself. Like won’t I just get better if I play more? Isn’t it kind of embarrassing to spend money on something I actively suck at? I’m not sure why exactly I’ve made these judgments. After all, hiring a coach or tutor is an accepted practice for novices in all sorts of hobbies and activities - so why not competitive video games? After waffling for a bit, I decided it would be easier to justify this to myself by making content out of it, so here we are.

      Yeah I dont't think it is scary. How could it. Question is why did you need a coach to point things out to you? Just watch your own demos and learn. You should be able to tell that going mid with 3 Mac10s isnt a strong strat.

    • @Katt1n
      @Katt1n 9 місяців тому +5

      @@InterfectorIIThere are a lot of things that are not obvious to new players that we take for granted. I have 6500 hours, I still like to demo review with someone else to have someone to ask questions or discuss situations with. 90% of the mistakes I make I'll pick up on in game anyways, so while demo reviewing alone is helpful for getting those last 10%, it doesn't give you a new perspective or new information.

    (Typed this up before the last 10 secs of the video, but for the Zoomers with Goldfish Attention Spans...)
    Something that would be better than telling him about angles, would be to jump on the Yprac Mirage map and go through the Prefire peeks. It will literally guide you through each Main peak onto both sites from Multiple approaches, and shows you which angles to peak in order, and which ones you CANT peak without having a crossfire, WHICH, if you use your head, you learn to hold these angles with teammates.
    For example, there is a VERY strong set of crossfires on Mirage A.
    Holding from Deep Jungle (Just as you leave the Window exit Door) to Under Palace Balcony (just slightly off the closest to A Main Dark Corner) have a great Crossfire that holds a Lane where its near impossible to peak both angles at the same time. Additionally, there is a 3rd angle from CT that has really close Crossfire with the previously mentioned angle.
    This is REALLY good for after plants or as rotates when you still hold some form of Map Control from under balc.
    Additional Edit:
    Learning to be slow and slow peak every angle, doing 30m-1h practice of peaking angles and smokes/flashes, and trying to get good consistent 170-240 scores on the Yprac Recoil Trainer, all got me from a long time MGE Plateau all the way up to Supreme.
    Unfortunately, due to CS2 not doing custom maps [as well as having a plethora of issues like input lag, and inconsistent tick rate and spray patterns] its very hard to practice this stuff for CS2)

    up to 4 mins in the video everything he said can litterly be learned by playing 5 or 6 games against people in lem and supreme like even if u are silver if u accidently join a team with 4 lems in it u will get a match against full lem team and all this crosshair placement and aiming can be learned too fast unless ur really new to the game then u should play for at least 2 years xD and the ct smoke dude ct smokes are usefull untill u reach supreme rank and with a very good team it will still be very usefull if u know how to counter it with a moly at the same time like for an example rush a smoke ct moly it as well then spray the box and the between the smokes if anyone is hiding he's either dead or very low hp and what he said about taking a map controle you honestly need a team that understands how the game works xD not a team that goes to apps and camps there or make alot of noises and the moment one of them dies they all either push together or fall back xD but besides all of that the rest are very good infos like honestly if u wanna push to a higher rank 70% of ur game depends on the crosshair placement and ur spray controle the 30% rest are how to smoke usefull things how to moly how to peek at the right time where to camp and where to move on the map and how ur teammates also plays

  • @jenzu4229

  • @klizzard5166
    @klizzard5166 9 місяців тому +1

    i disagree with the ct smoke thing. but otherwise i agree.
    having that smoke on ct + stairs jungle makes it much easier to take A but you do need your team to go in together and if done correctly the bomb will be planted just before the ct smoke fades and you can flash and take ct for after plant.

      pienix is right

    • @harp893
      @harp893 9 місяців тому

      bad smoke, leaves a gap and players are going to jump onto ct box and get a one way, can also cause the ct player to push up to firebox infront of the smoke. you want to molly that box at the ticket angle.

    • @MaTTer1235
      @MaTTer1235 9 місяців тому

      The takeaway point was that you want to control either jungle or ct for afterplant. Without controlling one of those two positions A is a really hard site to hold. Not a big deal in lower level pugs but against higher level players you'll be struggling to win afterplant situations.

    • @iArrivall
      @iArrivall 9 місяців тому

      Depending on if youre higher level or not, smoking CT is out of meta, the gapless smokes you can throw for CT are finnicky AND they provide oneways on top of Ticket Booth, the common lineups both do that and give the bottom gap to stop default plant. If the CT decides to play it safer you then have one extra player you have to deal with on the retake crunch and you cant push him for CT control because he has advantage holding smoke. Its much better to do right-side smokes and leave Ticket open because that guy is not going to be able to do much but hide behind VERY spammable cover, or fall all the way back as 3-5 players burst out on A.

    • @poteris1
      @poteris1 9 місяців тому

      I would always prefer saving and extra smoke to resmoke con/jungle. Nowadays I just go out with flash and molo ct.

    Tbh the given advices are not very special. Checking demos on your own will improve your gameplay even more, because you will be able to recognize mistakes and improve in the next game. That's how it worked back in the 2000s .No money wasted and lessons learned :)

    An important thing he didn't tell you at 16:20 is that distance has nothing to do with how flashed you get, only how much you are facing a flash.

    Idk if you guys discussed it for fun but I find some coaches annoyingly over demeaning. I love coaching in different games. If my student lacks the info to the point where they seek outside help, laughing at something that is an "obvious" mistake to me is going to kill their confidence. I try to always avoid it unless it was a pretty funny situation. "What are you doing here it makes no sense" yeah cause they don't know what they are doing .... duh.

    he is telling him to take mid control all alone with his shitty aim , he is pugging if he stay alive mid it would be 100 % better than going out mid and dying like my stupid teammates most of the time after they finish util A i can always push ramp or palace and kill 1 but i dont need my noob teammate to go close mid and die id rather him staying alive .

      you only solo mid when your team executes a/b to force multiple angles from ct

    • @karimyassine5932

      @@poteris1 There is no single way of playing the game especially when u are pugging . I have 3700 elo the tactic i follow is lurk or full aggro its my style and i make my team most of time follow it. Some times when i know enemy have full buy its one of 2 either they will buy awp and have him ct or they will have 2 pushing conc with 1 guy ticket flashing for them . What i do is i rush full palace with no flashes just have 1 guy smoke for me jungle on timing 90 % of time ill kill 1 guy holding a flash or offguard. Next round ill rush ramp with flashes cause i have good aim. After that the game is basically over a guys will not commit to mid and ill let my team split mid and b every round. Every one has a way of playing but playing that stupid mid take as t side is so lame how i counter that as ct is i never break window i take ramp and palace and keep the awper ticket who will always take a free kill conc while we have 2 b players only focusing on B ( some times they take b apps control ) My point is i never want and idiot to go out mid alone cause best case scenario he will kill 1 and get traded.

    • @karimyassine5932
      @karimyassine5932 9 місяців тому

      And forget on a i will not use any util begining of round cause i want a hero to come a so we 3 can kill him easily togther and if no one comes we sill start smoking and mollying ramp and palace while these guys are stuck on mid baiting each other some times ill just say fuk it and smoke conc for them its basically telling them take mid what are u going to do know i have players close on ramp hearing u rotate any where .
