Ever since I started trying to get better at counter-strike, I’ve been intrigued by the idea of working with a coach. But I always felt like it wouldn’t be worth it for a lower skilled player like myself. Like won’t I just get better if I play more? Isn’t it kind of embarrassing to spend money on something I actively suck at? I’m not sure why exactly I’ve made these judgments. After all, hiring a coach or tutor is an accepted practice for novices in all sorts of hobbies and activities - so why not competitive video games? After waffling for a bit, I decided it would be easier to justify this to myself by making content out of it, so here we are.

This guy is brutally honest! I love it!
that's why we love him :)
He is! But I think some of it is also that when people aren't native English speakers some things might come off as a bit harsh even though he doesn't mean it.
But the guy definitely knows his shit.
Good stuff.
@@Remu- based on his accent i think its in his coulture to be honest.
Brutally honest but it feels really soft cause he explains every time it doesn't feel like hes enjoying it
This player is fantastic, just needs to work on communication, aim, map awareness, crosshair placement, econ management, pistol aim, awp flix, grenade spots, smoke spots, pop flashes, positioning, bomb plant positions, retakes, bunny hopping, spray control and getting kills
you had me in the first half 🤣🤣
As a new cs player this is extremely useful for me, appreciate the time put in by both of you.
that makes me very happy thank you!
Glad you tried him out! Demo reviews can be scary, asking someone to pick you apart.
ive never felt dumber honestly but that's the great thing about it LOL
It's only scary when you feel like your ego will be hurt. Take the feedback with an open mind and it will be ok.
Yeah I dont't think it is scary. How could it. Question is why did you need a coach to point things out to you? Just watch your own demos and learn. You should be able to tell that going mid with 3 Mac10s isnt a strong strat.
@@InterfectorIIThere are a lot of things that are not obvious to new players that we take for granted. I have 6500 hours, I still like to demo review with someone else to have someone to ask questions or discuss situations with. 90% of the mistakes I make I'll pick up on in game anyways, so while demo reviewing alone is helpful for getting those last 10%, it doesn't give you a new perspective or new information.
@@Katt1n If you watch pro matches and compare them to your gameplay, you should be able to see the difference even if you are beginner. It always worked like that back in the days whitout coaches trying to make ez money with Silver players...
Way better than most general improvement guides I have seen. Love this format.
Honestly thank you for posting the whole coaching session, it helps a lot to be able to see where other people mess up and reference it with my own weaknesses. Appreciate this post.
Seems like a good coach. Learning the angles and pathing for map control has helped me probably the most out of anything I have learned in CSGO. Spend as much time as you can practicing peeking like he was showing you especially if you are in lower ranks.
Love this content bro, super informative. I'll definitely be tuning in for future coaching sessions. POG
You two are very entertaining together, pretty chill to watch, love it
great video man, some good ideas and concepts that everyone can take something out of.
great video! thanks for sharing this with us. it really helped me :)
I'm starting with CS2 and this is such good information for me. I didn't know you can release shift and peek with 1 step and it doesn't make noise, I am always getting surprised by people just appearing at an angle and instakilling me with zero noise so this must have been how they did it
Wow this is actually pretty cool ngl. Thanks for uploading. It’s really disheartening when you miss your smokes, I know the feeling
Super helpful! I use to be high 5/6 and took a long break. I dropped to 3 and back to 4. But I’m so frustrated by my lack of utility. Even when my cross hair placement is off. I can still do better team play. But my utility is shit right now. And I just haven’t been able to put the time to fix!
Didn't expect myself to watch till the end, but I did! Extremely useful!
Pain + reflection = growth, good luck on your cs journey very rewarding game to get better at. Maybe not so much with cs2 and the current state of it but I'm sure they will fix it up and make it much better in terms of feeling of the movement and shooting.
Csgo players when there are more than 3 usable guns in a game
Good content I’ve seen your stuff on tik tok and I would enjoy this in a short tic tok video!!!
great vid bro love your stuff that csc video inspired me and im prob gonna join next season
awesome! hope to see you in there
We'd be happy to have you in CSC
Very helpful video!
Thank you for sharing your coaching session. You can tell Pienix knows what he's talking about and is a good coach. I wish you the best on your climb and into cs2.
thanks!! same to you
The thought behind smoking CT was very interesting. Great video per usual!
yeah I thought that was interesting as well
But surely running put ramp against an AWP is an easy pick for the enemy? The "just molly it/push it" doesnt make sense to me. I dont think there is a molly lineup from way back
@@TheCukelamp flash, + provided everyone is moving and not staying Tetris, and a palace guy is a actually peeking, he should be falling back behind ticket/far back into ct spawn
@@facer35 Fair enough, still feels easier to smoke it and have a longer timeframe
@@TheCuke the enemy will just jump top of ticket and have 1 way
pienix is so good, he coached me last year. he is SO fucking good, can only recommend.
Thanks for the video! I feel like ill improve from this vid a lot too~ I learned a lot from it
Thanks, glhf!
This is a great coaching video! From both sides!
Thank you very much!
Cool video. Keep grinding fam
🙏
pretty cool video, he had lots of good points, hopefully he helps you improve
I hope so too!
aprreciate ur time
Super nice video!
one of the best series
Love this!
More of these series please
check back saturday : )
had to rewatch i was too distracted by his amazing glove knife combo
I USE YPRAC ! Went from silv 1 to silv elite master/nova 1, it's all about practice makes perfect guys! Don't get discouraged by better players/the smurfs etc just put in the work/warm up before every session and practice angles/movement/crosshair placement when you offline & it'll show after a while.
Good video very helpful
You could have brought up the round 3 ct smoke cancels out the one way. But it seems like no one was using it so therefore you don’t need to smoke it off yet. Not trying to be a pain, just a tip on how to save a smoke until they start abusing that one way :)
I’ve been playing cs for a few months on and off and found out about counter strafing yesterday 😂
He had me at "you are basically useless" XD
🤪
algorithm's doing work for the homie
bless
Bro im the exact same as you. i watched this video then went and watched myself play a past game. I know utility throws but not knowing what to do sometimes or how to make an impact as well as bad crosshair placement.
it's so hard to think and play at the same time
nice synth setup
(Typed this up before the last 10 secs of the video, but for the Zoomers with Goldfish Attention Spans...)
Something that would be better than telling him about angles, would be to jump on the Yprac Mirage map and go through the Prefire peeks. It will literally guide you through each Main peak onto both sites from Multiple approaches, and shows you which angles to peak in order, and which ones you CANT peak without having a crossfire, WHICH, if you use your head, you learn to hold these angles with teammates.
For example, there is a VERY strong set of crossfires on Mirage A.
Holding from Deep Jungle (Just as you leave the Window exit Door) to Under Palace Balcony (just slightly off the closest to A Main Dark Corner) have a great Crossfire that holds a Lane where its near impossible to peak both angles at the same time. Additionally, there is a 3rd angle from CT that has really close Crossfire with the previously mentioned angle.
This is REALLY good for after plants or as rotates when you still hold some form of Map Control from under balc.
Additional Edit:
Learning to be slow and slow peak every angle, doing 30m-1h practice of peaking angles and smokes/flashes, and trying to get good consistent 170-240 scores on the Yprac Recoil Trainer, all got me from a long time MGE Plateau all the way up to Supreme.
Unfortunately, due to CS2 not doing custom maps [as well as having a plethora of issues like input lag, and inconsistent tick rate and spray patterns] its very hard to practice this stuff for CS2)
Holy this is crazy. My man Pienix has blown up. Hes running a train on CSC right now good stuff. How'd you hear about him xbox?
digital recommended him to me!
@@xboxlasagne that's awesome! I've been using him for a couple years and it looks like he's making the rounds in CSC. You're gonna learn a shit ton in the future sessions bro. Good luck!
@@anthonyjohnson2959 that's awesome to hear, thanks man!
very insightful video i learnt a lot .
its funny to think about but this yt video may pay for your session !
Very small detail, but if possible allow the video to stretch so it removes black bars. Apart from that amazing video, worth watching even for high ranked and experienced players
Thanks! I can’t adjust that because pienix plays on 4:3. all that footage of the demo review and his POV in the practice server is captured from him sharing his screen with me. If I zoomed in or stretched that it would look really bad
More on map control, please.
Whats weird is I've been trying to do the mid window smoke and I CANNOT DO IT EITHER. I found another way to do it literally just on the other side of the trash can and it works everytime for me there but not on the normal way... it's super weird lmao
i just got free csgo lessons thanks bro!!!
nice content
Man said.. nah bro, no way thats gonna flash window 😂😂
😂😂😂
This is a good coach
no way this man owns those glove n knife skin does he? bros LOADED
if i get pandoras will i be level 10?
yes@@xboxlasagne
ON THAT SMOKE aim below the metal bar just a bit , hits every time i see too many ppl aiming too high, and it just doesn't hit
subbed
I wonder if he coaches while playing, since I also solo queue I would learn a lot
been playing since 2017 on autopilot because god damn i suck i'd have so much more to learn if i focused on this
0:43 “xboxlasagne fantastic player just needs to work on” proceeds to list everything
What rank was this game from?
dog i just learned so much :O
Soo fire box is triple? Or am I just dumb
You only want to aim close to edges of things, it is as easy as that but it is kind of hard to get it in to your brain.
What elo is this? I have been coached by Pienix myself, he is great. Got roughly the same feedback and im lvl 4. Keep it up man!
i've sunk into the depths of level 1 :) but i'm almost back out LOL
the con tip is cool
I’m definitely dying a lot less to the cat guy now heh
How do people play on that kind of Aspect Ratio? I get its supposedly somehow better for CSGO but no couldnt be me. I bought an Ultrawide so I can use it not just use a quarter of it
It's preference based - the models appear wider but the tradeoff is they move faster across your screen. i'll be sticking to native res : )
I have a wide monitor as well but still use 4:3 resolution. I do that because when I first played CS in the 1.6 times that is the monitor resolutions we had. Plus my old man eyes are shit so making everyone's head a little dot doesn't help me.
i wish i wasnt so ass at info im so shy LOL
Epic
what are these preaim maps called? I want to find them in workshop
YPRAC
Oh my god this is why I recognized you in my mirage game. I FLIPPING WATCHED YOUR YT VIDEOS 😭
I remember saying I recognize your name but like idk from where, now I remmeber lmfao
ahah oh yeah I remember that
What Rank/FaceIt Level are you? That would help
this is a level 1 lobby
the tiktok goat himself has graced my feed 🐐
clock app gang
I need someone to coach me like that for free 😅
Im not a pro, but if you want I can give you some feedback on a demo.
COOL :)
How to get into that workshop where he demoed the run 14:35 ?
look up "how to practice smokes in CSGO" on YT and there should be a few videos walking you through how to set everything up
try yprac maps or launch a nadeking cfg
what is your faceit lever sir?
I recently deranked to level 1 after hovering around 2/3 for a while. this is from a level 1 lobby.
up to 4 mins in the video everything he said can litterly be learned by playing 5 or 6 games against people in lem and supreme like even if u are silver if u accidently join a team with 4 lems in it u will get a match against full lem team and all this crosshair placement and aiming can be learned too fast unless ur really new to the game then u should play for at least 2 years xD and the ct smoke dude ct smokes are usefull untill u reach supreme rank and with a very good team it will still be very usefull if u know how to counter it with a moly at the same time like for an example rush a smoke ct moly it as well then spray the box and the between the smokes if anyone is hiding he's either dead or very low hp and what he said about taking a map controle you honestly need a team that understands how the game works xD not a team that goes to apps and camps there or make alot of noises and the moment one of them dies they all either push together or fall back xD but besides all of that the rest are very good infos like honestly if u wanna push to a higher rank 70% of ur game depends on the crosshair placement and ur spray controle the 30% rest are how to smoke usefull things how to moly how to peek at the right time where to camp and where to move on the map and how ur teammates also plays
so he commented on crosshair placement but not how he entered a site checkign the same side as his teammates and not jungle or stairs
i disagree with the ct smoke thing. but otherwise i agree.
having that smoke on ct + stairs jungle makes it much easier to take A but you do need your team to go in together and if done correctly the bomb will be planted just before the ct smoke fades and you can flash and take ct for after plant.
pienix is right
bad smoke, leaves a gap and players are going to jump onto ct box and get a one way, can also cause the ct player to push up to firebox infront of the smoke. you want to molly that box at the ticket angle.
The takeaway point was that you want to control either jungle or ct for afterplant. Without controlling one of those two positions A is a really hard site to hold. Not a big deal in lower level pugs but against higher level players you'll be struggling to win afterplant situations.
Depending on if youre higher level or not, smoking CT is out of meta, the gapless smokes you can throw for CT are finnicky AND they provide oneways on top of Ticket Booth, the common lineups both do that and give the bottom gap to stop default plant. If the CT decides to play it safer you then have one extra player you have to deal with on the retake crunch and you cant push him for CT control because he has advantage holding smoke. Its much better to do right-side smokes and leave Ticket open because that guy is not going to be able to do much but hide behind VERY spammable cover, or fall all the way back as 3-5 players burst out on A.
I would always prefer saving and extra smoke to resmoke con/jungle. Nowadays I just go out with flash and molo ct.
2:39 bullshit call.... Hooxi do this on stage everytime
i need a link to the practice mapppppp!

1:27 "your teammate just ran past this".. guy never played on lvl 3 xd
I play guitar better than s1mple plays cs and I'm still obsessed over learning cs after 15k hours of failure after CSGO got updated i lost my SMFC
moog subseq 37, im the only one who knows
Auto muted coach??
lol
Tbh the given advices are not very special. Checking demos on your own will improve your gameplay even more, because you will be able to recognize mistakes and improve in the next game. That's how it worked back in the 2000s .No money wasted and lessons learned :)
An important thing he didn't tell you at 16:20 is that distance has nothing to do with how flashed you get, only how much you are facing a flash.
How to play mirage T side? Dont play mirage 5 second video ez
Idk if you guys discussed it for fun but I find some coaches annoyingly over demeaning. I love coaching in different games. If my student lacks the info to the point where they seek outside help, laughing at something that is an "obvious" mistake to me is going to kill their confidence. I try to always avoid it unless it was a pretty funny situation. "What are you doing here it makes no sense" yeah cause they don't know what they are doing .... duh.
we have a good relationship and i don't mind moments that may come off as harsh : )
@xboxlasagne I figured as much haha. I have a couple students I rip on but we are close.
Anyone else feel like this guy had walls/soft aim?
you gotta be kidding me LOL
he is telling him to take mid control all alone with his shitty aim , he is pugging if he stay alive mid it would be 100 % better than going out mid and dying like my stupid teammates most of the time after they finish util A i can always push ramp or palace and kill 1 but i dont need my noob teammate to go close mid and die id rather him staying alive .
you only solo mid when your team executes a/b to force multiple angles from ct
@@poteris1 There is no single way of playing the game especially when u are pugging . I have 3700 elo the tactic i follow is lurk or full aggro its my style and i make my team most of time follow it. Some times when i know enemy have full buy its one of 2 either they will buy awp and have him ct or they will have 2 pushing conc with 1 guy ticket flashing for them . What i do is i rush full palace with no flashes just have 1 guy smoke for me jungle on timing 90 % of time ill kill 1 guy holding a flash or offguard. Next round ill rush ramp with flashes cause i have good aim. After that the game is basically over a guys will not commit to mid and ill let my team split mid and b every round. Every one has a way of playing but playing that stupid mid take as t side is so lame how i counter that as ct is i never break window i take ramp and palace and keep the awper ticket who will always take a free kill conc while we have 2 b players only focusing on B ( some times they take b apps control ) My point is i never want and idiot to go out mid alone cause best case scenario he will kill 1 and get traded.
And forget on a i will not use any util begining of round cause i want a hero to come a so we 3 can kill him easily togther and if no one comes we sill start smoking and mollying ramp and palace while these guys are stuck on mid baiting each other some times ill just say fuk it and smoke conc for them its basically telling them take mid what are u going to do know i have players close on ramp hearing u rotate any where .
brother everyone in these lobbies including myself is "the noob teammate". lol.
@@karimyassine5932Do all 3000 Elo have an ego like you? Because if so I'm good staying where I'm at. Mostly the people who are calling their teammates stupid are the ones doing bad and are the problem for the team.
That 400€ mic and being bad relatable
But as a new player and aim training that should be solved soon.. aim waise
the only thing i hate when i play with silvers, is that they buy full util, without using it at all, and it just triggers me !!! xD
POLSKA GUROM
Generally the utilities you throw are super useless.
OOOOOFFFF
SOMEONE HAD TO SAY IT!
