I’ve sat on a T100 the weight is definitely noticeable. I have ‘22 Street Twin and definitely recommend. It’s a beautiful bike, great for cruising around and wow does it have a nice growl!
They should put duel odometers on both. And just make that a trademark of Triumphs. Because Im torn. I want the street for the wheels and asthetics, but I want the duel gauges without the spoked wheels. Just make it simple and put the guages on both. There will still be a clear difference between the two. Please!!!!
Same here. I don't buy the Bonny because the spoket rims. Triump needs to give customers a choise. I can trow casted rims in, but not on a brand new bike. A shame.
Tubless tyres and not having to remove a silencer to extract the axle bolt for wheel out maintenance Street/Speed Twin 900 wins it for me personally.....
Correction - meant ST900 (Speed Twin) - differentiators for me included the dip in the seating, seat height, rims, road and rain modes and of course the muffler. I did like the chrome handlebar on the T100 and the dual gauge cluster which comes on the ST1200
nice video! not a lot of comparisons between these two, and definitely not as in depth as yours. thank you for sharing! (i’m going with the speed twin for the seat height and the extra technical features)
I opted for the T100 and the reason was the more retro style, reminiscent of the first Bonnies, including the dual clock and this particular colour scheme, which was the one used on the first 1959 Bonneville and reissued in 650 units for the 50th anniversary and again in summer 2022 when I bought the bike.
Funny I thought that triumph would have fitted fork gaiters on the T100 more in keeping with how they would have been in the past and not on the more modern street (speed) twin 900 Great informative review 👍
Great video, thanks. Sat on both recently in the showroom and was surprised that despite the fairly small difference in weight, the T100 feels much heavier. Perhaps the higher seat contributes to this perception, and maybe it has a higher center of gravity? In any case, the difference was quite noticable. Thanks again.
You are quite welcome! Thank you so much for watching! The T100 is indeed slightly heavier than the Speed Twin 900. To this day I can’t find where they hid 20lbs on the Bonnie but according to Triumph it’s 20lbs heavier. Which, like you said, is noticeable. Either way, both quite enjoyable motorcycles! Thank you so much! 😊
The Speed twin is defo retro looking enough for me and much cheaper as well so... Good thing they kept the analogue dial on, unlike the Japanese who have a fetish with digital stuff, or it would have been T100 all the way. Also thanks for the comparison, I got exactly the info I came here looking for👍
I am actually trying to make my mind up between these two bikes, which one to buy and I'm still undecided. Hopefully you'll have a ride video out soon but guess both will be a fantastic ride. 🤔
Me too! I have owned a T100 in the past and received many compliments! I loved the Bonneville when I owned it. Probably one of my all time favorite bikes.
The ST900 has more functional fork gaiters, better calipers (4 pistons vs 2), tubeless tires from the factory and ride modes despite being the cheaper model. I can imagine most experienced buyers going for the ST or jumping straight to the T120. I sure wish I did! My T100 is nice but I keep feeling like I got ripped off paying the premium for such a barebone bike.
T100 looks like piece of art compared to Speed twin, I wish you'd have spent more time on engines and what is actual difference in engine as they both put of similar numbers so what's the actual difference??
I just bought the speed twin but It would be perfect with the T100 tank design and height. I prefer 1 clock tbh. Great review though, which one you prefer?
Hey there! There may be very little parts that can be swapped over cosmetically. However some engine components could be swapped over since they used the same engine.
Great break down own a 2011 thruxton 900 with Mods fun bike. I am 68 years of 12 year old at heart. started with a home built mini with a brigs and straton 3 hp. Same style I started my kids with lmao. Fun. My Daughter nearly gave me a heart attack she has a Phd. A does Triathlons but good lord put five cars in the body shop very proud of her keep her off two wheels. But the boy has six bikes and he Rides the Arse off them. Two wheels is a passion my first road bike was a 1972 Yamaha XS 650 it was my entry level Drug of choice. Next was KZ1 900 and the list goes on gold wing Harleys dirt bikes and broken bones lol. As I'm getting older I realize a lighter bike is my best choice to enjoying riding at a proficient and safe place and a standard style bike that Triumph offers can't be dismissed. Great style and rideablility. Two wheel are fun. Be Happy ride on.😊
“Triumph does a great job with their branding”. It’s their OTT branding which really puts me off these bikes. Can you order them debadged? If not, how easy is it to remove all the Union Jacks? Are they just stickers? I presume I can get the Triumph badge off with a screwdriver; will the Bonneville lettering just peel off?
actually this blue and orange color don't look to good with blacked engine. It definitely would be better with classic chrome or at least brushed engine.
incorrect as the speed twin has uprated its HP making the divide. I was listening to Triumph chief engineer explaining why the change @@benattwiggcycles

A little known fact, electronic cruise control option can be added to the T100 but not the Street/Speed Twin 900 .
Why is that ? Interested…

That's exactly what I want as well... so I'm torn
Great review. First side by side comparison of this two bikes I found on youtube.....very helpful. Thank you!
Thank you so very much!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Rode the speed twin recently
Loved the machine, shame you can't order with twin clocks
Would also love to see the speed twin 900 with twin clocks!
The 1200cc speedtwin comes with 2 clocks, the 900cc streettwin has 1 clock.
The light blue and orange paint job is just beautiful.
Tubless tyres and not having to remove a silencer to extract the axle bolt for wheel out maintenance Street/Speed Twin 900 wins it for me personally.....
Much needed video-Thanks Mate🤘👍
You’re most welcome and thank YOU!!
About to pull the trigger on a Speed Twin 900… but paused thinking about the T100. I’m going with the SS900 - thank you .. very nice job.

my thoughts exactly.
same price, this is a nice review to help me decide

Best comparison I've seen.
Thank you so much!!!
Thanks for that really good information
You're very welcome and thank YOU for watching!
Speed twin but with the rims and gauge of the t100.
very helpful video. thank you
Thank you so much!! Ride safe!
The colour scheme on the T100 is just lovely❤
I agree!!!
Fenders on t100 are of metal or plastic?
The Speed twin is defo retro looking enough for me and much cheaper as well so...

Nice video! I’m deciding which one to get
Thank you so much!
What’s the difference between Speed twin and Street twin? Did they just change the names or something else
@@NicJames-rs8uc They changed the names starting 2023. The Street Twin then became the Speed Twin 900.
I am actually trying to make my mind up between these two bikes, which one to buy and I'm still undecided. Hopefully you'll have a ride video out soon but guess both will be a fantastic ride. 🤔
I will definitely get to work on that ☺️ Hope to have one up this week my friend!
Well, T100 is like a big sleeping cat and ST 900 like more a ferret🤙
The t100 has tube tires, and a worse front brake. It's beautiful though.
I’m sold on the t100. Love those spoke wheels.
Me too! I have owned a T100 in the past and received many compliments! I loved the Bonneville when I owned it. Probably one of my all time favorite bikes.
Are the spoked wheels tubeless or tubes out of curiosity?
T100 has tubed tires. ST had tubeless tires.
If they exchanged the color theme of the bike I'd choose the t100.
Wait... I thought the 2023 models had Michelin tires, not Pirelli
The ST900 has more functional fork gaiters, better calipers (4 pistons vs 2), tubeless tires from the factory and ride modes despite being the cheaper model.

There is no difference in the engine.
I just bought the speed twin but It would be perfect with the T100 tank design and height.
I prefer 1 clock tbh.
Great review though, which one you prefer?
Most subtle difference is the price... The reason the Street Twin is the bigger seller.
Nice comparison video!!
Have a question - t100 tyres are tubed or tubeless?
T100 is tubed. ST is tubeless
Hey folks have the Speed Twin down in Oz. Great value, lovely ride on our Great Ocean Road.
jealous........what a great road to ride
does speed twin has tachometer with rpm?
Yes
Are the parts common between t100 & st900?
Hey there! There may be very little parts that can be swapped over cosmetically. However some engine components could be swapped over since they used the same engine.
It would have been nice to have a riding comparison
I think I can do that 😉
I like this video😊👏🌞👍
Thank you so much!!

im 71 getting a ST900 for Christmas .............first time on the saddle since 1984

Street Twin is not also known as a Speed Twin. They’re two different bikes.
Incorrect. You might want to check out Triumph’s website. It word-for-word says Triumph Speed Twin 900 (formerly Street Twin).
Perhaps you’re thinking of the Speed Twin 1200? Which previously was ONLY known as the Speed Twin.
From Triumph’s website directly: “From model year 2023, the Street Twin is re-named Speed Twin “.
2023 change yeah.
incorrect as the speed twin has uprated its HP making the divide. I was listening to Triumph chief engineer explaining why the change @@benattwiggcycles
Useful, but you repeat and repeat . Come on.
