Looks fun. I was dubious about ski cross in the winter Olympics but it quickly became my favourite!
I live in a river city, they do kayak cross at a local sports festival. lucky to have seen it in person
The after race brawls should be epic

It’s seems kind of inconvenient for anybody to practice this! How many facilities are there like this?
natural rivers
Is it not in the same white water courses they use for all the other canoe/kayak events?
There are a number of artificial courses popping up all over the US. Out west, there are river sections that have been changed in some towns to make rapids for people to practice in town, Reno, Boulder, and Bend for example. Back east, plenty of rivers and artificial courses are spread out from Oklahoma, Alabama, Maryland, and North Carolina. Of course natural rivers are out there too. Tons of course all over Europe, some in NZ and Aus too.
As far as man made facilities, not many. There are none on the west coast of the US. The Los Angeles planning committee considered building one for the 2028 Olympics, but decided to save money by having the canoe/kayak events at the Riversport course in Oklahoma City (over 1300 miles away from LA)
I feel embarrassed for the US kayak and whitewater community after watching this.
Kayakers here like Dane Jackson would dominate that race.

They mention "Hot Dog", and the name is common across white water centres in Europe, but I have no idea of the brand. I believe they're also called Kayak Air.

lol, you can get this into the Olympics, but not jiu jitsu...
It's a variation on whitewater slalom using the same venue. Slalom has been in the games for a couple decades, and was first in the games in the 70s. The tend to focus on the events that draw the views and audience.

Climbing is in the Olympics. As are shooting and archery, which are very similar sports to hunting
You know whitewater rafting has been a regular Olympic sport since 1992, right? This isn't much different except you have 4 competitors going down at the same time.

You realize those inflatable kayaks are only for the reporters that don't know what they're doing? The actual competitors will be using the same kayaks as the whitewater rafters.
When reporters do it yes, I’ve never watched it but looks pretty fun watching pros
