Traditional WC slider meat patty is square with 5 small holes in it. It is also slightly thinner than than their Impossible version. It is always cooked on top of a bed of diced white onion and in this way the steam from the onions help cook the thin meat and the 5 holes allow for quick and thorough cooking. The standard toppings are salt, pickle, and the steamed onions. The buns are added at the end of the grilling process and thus soak up some of the onion steam and flavors once finally assembled. The resulting slider is moist, sallty and perfect. I invented a way to make the impossible burger patty thinner and one can duplicate the original WC quite nicely.

When Impossible first came out in restaurants, I noticed a HUGE difference between burgers at two locations. I emailed Impossible and they said restaurants get a slightly different version of the “meat” and in bulk of course, because they normally season and make it into shapes they want. So the restaurant version is different than consumer products at the store but similar.

I worked at a Moe's when I was in high school. The tofu is just cooked by cubing it up (no pressing or draining) and it is put on the griddle and tossed with the vinaigrette for a few minutes. That's why it isn't super flavorful.

You guys have to try turning point diner. There’s a few locations in Jersey. Best vegan breakfast you can get but there’s lunch menu items as well. They have a few dishes made with JUST egg and other vegan meats, all chefs kiss amazing

The White Castle on the strip in Las Vegas doesn’t have the impossible slider (as of October 2022). Idk if there are other locations in Vegas that sell it.
However, it does have a Dr. Praeger burger, which I think 💭 a vegan.
When the WC impossible slider first came out, in chicago, it was made fresh with fresh impossible meat and onions. SO delicious! It always took a while for them to make the sliders because they had to fry them fresh. They were soooo freakin’ delicious. Since then, they started to make a square patty at a factory and the impossible sliders were never the same. I’m so sad that they started using factory produced Pattie’s instead of the fresh hand made Pattie’s fried with onions that they used to do. They used to be bomb. 😢
Mamouns falafel was originally near Greenwich Park in NYC. We used to go there in the mid 1980's. Their falafel was incredibly delicious! People would stand in line 8 deep to get it. Thanks for the video 😻

I'm so jealous. I live in hick town Iowa and our grocery stores barely have vegan premade food, let alone our fast food joints. Once I was in Iowa City at the hospital & the little sandwich stand had vegan hummus sammiches. 😃 omg I was like WHAAA....??!!! marked as vegan & everything!! Of course I had to get one & it was 🤌🤌

I live in the east coast and definitely prefer Moe's to Chipotle. I think it's just the heartiness of the food, although I give credit to Chipotle because of the sofritas. I do eat Moe's like once a week sometimes, haha. Thanks for sharing these videos because sometimes it's hard to find vegan options at fast food places.
Idk about where you are but Chipotle is never hot! Like ever! So I usually will only go to get chips and guac.

I live in Ohio and we've always had White Castle. Their burgers have always been square. I love to get the Impossible Burgers fixed just like their signature sliders with only pickle and onion. SO GOOD! Also, Ohio is a major testing state for different restaurants.

We love Moe's here in Tennessee.
They used to have a Moe's in north Wilsonville in the Portland area, but it looks like it's closed permanently now. Not sure if that was a COVID casualty or if it happened before then - I had a bunch of friends that'd go there for lunch in high school.

Tons of white castles in the midwest, like Illinois and Missouri at least. I live in Arizona now and my mother was ecstatic they opened one up here in Phoenix. Their burgers are steamed, that’s why they are wet and moist.

I LOVE Moe's. We only have a cpl in WV & the nearest one is almost 2 hrs away. I ALWAYS get the Homewrecker with both beans, both rices & a shitton of toppings. In the summer, they have an amazing pineapple salsa. It's 9.99 & tax & SO COMPLETELY worth it! It's so huge & Moe's is in the Pilot Truckstop, so I get some seriously hilarious looks & comments when they see the size of my Homewrecker.

hahaa yeah I used to work at Taco Bell back when I lived in Ohio and it has always been a test market for some weird reason. It was always fun getting to try out the new stuff before it came out everywhere. I had no idea they were getting a Vegan Steak option! That should be fun to try :)

Have you tried Greens and Grains? It’s a NJ chain, fast casual. I could literally eat the sesame kale wrap every day. The Cuban is bomb too!

White Castle is just the square patty and onions typically. And then I would add ketchup. I actually preferred the frozen burgers for some reason 😂😂😂 I can’t explain it but being at the restaurant feels gross maybe. Even tho I’d been there enough times. It was a craving type of visit…and drunk of course. Harold and Kumar wanted to go because they were baked lol

When I went to Moe’s for vegan food I just got beans instead of adding tofu, and I added the seasoned rice. It was great! But I do prefer Chipotle for the sofritas.
Unlike Moe's, Chipotle's gives you free guac when you order a veggie bowl or burrito without sofritas. The beans give you all the protein you need.

i usually bring my impossible white castle burgers home, i add violife cheese - what ever slice i have in fridge whether its chedder, provolone, american, vegan bacon bits, trader joe onion strings in can, sweet baby rays bbq sauce, also love their crinkle cut fries. they used to have a vegan black bean burger and veggie burger before they went impossible.
I hate that so many restaurants replaced their own vegan burgers with Impossible burgers, which are gross.
My stomach never agreed with Chipolte restaurant food. I narrowed it down to the bran oil they use. I am not familiar with it so I am thinking that was what caused my digestive issues.
Have you tried Pancheros? I think their tofu is pretty tasty and I like how they give you more quac than Chipotle.
Idk how long you'll be in the area, but if you're around this weekend make sure you stop by the Baklava Lady in Englishtown. I'm generally unimpressed with vegan restaurants, but everything here is amazing. And I've heard great things about Cultivate in Linden.
just got cultivate last night. love the chicken sandwich & peri peri fries. also highly recommend the chocolate chip cookies 😋

White Castle used to have a veggie burger slider that was way better than their impossible.

White Castle burgers have always been small square burgers, we grew up eating them every time we visited family on the east coast. Wish they had them on the west coast, always liked them better than McDonalds. I have tried Chipotle twice now and find it too spicy for me. Even when I try to order nothing spicy I still end up getting something on my order and end up not being able to eat it and throw it away. Have you ever tried a place called Furn Saj, they have 3 locations in So. California that I know of. Worth trying, they have many great choices.
if you guys ever come to DFW you show sooo try Spiral cafe in Dallas/Fort worth & Project pollo in Dallas their vegan chicken is PHENOMENAL ( both are vegan restaurants)

Questions. In fast food establishments I have found that the buns and the wraps themselves often/usually contain some forms of dairy, so they are not vegan. As I am very allergic to milk products, I cannot order them. Also, it is very common in fast food places that dairy is added to guacamole to stretch it. Are these things you check for?
We always vet these places to the best of our ability! The bread at all of these places contain no dairy, but “may contain” it, because they’re produced on shared equipment. The guac at Moe’s contains no dairy either :)
Gyro. The "GY" starts off with it sounding like "YEE" - T of yeet. If that makes sense.

white castle burgers are square with 5 holes - FOREVER(its not something new) in them so the onions steam through. i eat there impossible burgers now since im vegan, im not sure if they have the 5 holes in them.
I actually like White Castles veggie sliders better than the Impossible. I always get extra pickles... which is like 2 😄

You're definitely in Northern NJ based off the fact you hit up a White Castle. We Southern NJ folk no longer have White Castle as an option anymore. Moe's is legit an underrated spot for a quick fix Mexi-American option. The Guac is solid and you can't go wrong with the chips and salsa. We don't have a Halal Guys down here either but we do have Naf Naf Grill. Same concept, solid food. If you're ever in the southern NJ/Philly area, PLEASE do yourselves a favor and hit up Hip City Veg in Philly. It's a fast food style vegan franchise with multiple locations in Philly and I think DC. The food is outstanding and the Broad Street location has a killer breakfast menu.
I live in ocean county, we have White Castle. You must be talking the Atlantic tip of southern Jersey? I didn’t know they fade out the more south you go cuz I’m considered south Jersey but the most northern part of it. Come to ocean lol less than an hour drive 🤷🏼♀️😂
@@natedawgmomtakeover9972 I'm in Gloucester County, grew up in Camden County. I did a maps search and it's a pile of them in the Northern part of the state and a line of them down the coast until just north of LBI then...nada. The entire western part of NJ appears to be White Castle free.
I'm from Chicago IL and we have them in a few places and I hate white castle and fast food spots needs to have better vegan foods since load's of people are becoming vegan and be plant base would be great 👍

No Moe’s on the west coast but I do know Qdoba is far superior than Chipotle and I am angry that the closest Qdoba to me closed (why I don’t know as it always has people in it). Qdoba’s food was always hot for one where the food at Chipotle is room temp at best and sometime stone cold. Only thing I will go into Chipotle for is chips and guac at this point.
moes is so much better than chipotle!! and cheaper! there are so many more options to add into the bowls than chipotle. you can also ask to add the vinaigrette to top it. the chips are always free and you can ask for more! plus they are always warming them up so they don't get stale like at chipotle.

That vegan cheese honestly did nothing but sit there for vibes it’s good without it but some Mayo would be nice I live in New Jersey co White Castle is my 3 am saving grace 😂.

let's see... hmmm.... the last time i had a White Castle burger was probably 1973 when i went back to Ohio to visit my grandma. soggy bun, onions and steam cooked burger. i don't think they had to option of adding cheese back then but they was GUD good. after i went vegetarian in '88... no more interest in WC.
i tried hacking some beyond burgers and forcing them into behaving like a White Castle but in my opinion, beyond's meat taste too sweet. maybe i'll try it again now that CostCo is stocking impossible 'bergs. Thanks for the reviews = )
