Wow, it's so awesome to see a steakhouse having more vegan options than just a side house salad! I really enjoyed this video, there was a perfect balance between showing the food and talking/reviewing in the car. It would be great if more steakhouses had a greater variety of vegan options, even though I probably would never go to a steakhouse of my own accord.

I love Fogo De Chao, but I’m not vegan. I’m pescatarian. However, I get it. It’s so plant based eaters can still be included come family gatherings such as birthdays, holiday dinner, and other celebrations which is usually when you go to a place like Fogo.

I respect that they are branching out beyond the typical steakhouse fare. I've been to these type of places with family, and ended up with just sad steamed veggies and bread (and left hungry obviously lol). I would have been stoked to have a vegan protein option on these occasions! Another great video y'all ☺

The only reason a steakhouse would have a vegan option is they can charge a premium price for something that costs far less than steak. It is about making profit, not having healthy options or because vegan food is in high demand.

@@cIeetz The other person is more correct, as far as restaurant economies go. I have a food service background and they are only offering vegan options to increase profit margin per plate where there is demand for vegan options; lacking the demand they would not bother, as it would increase labor and food cost for no reason.

I dont understand why would you as a vegan even enter a steak house. Isnt it against your morals? why cant you accept that not all places are required to serve what you like to eat? If you already cant avoid going to a meat-place bc a larger group of people forced you, be simply grateful for what you can have or don't go at all. it si that simple. What is a difference between demanding a vegan meal at a steak house and demanding ice cream at a fish market? It is a steak house, those people decided to deal in meat. I dont go to a bike shop and demand a car-option. Or to a german shepherd breeder and ask for a Siamese cat. I mean jesus... Next time make a video about a potato stand not selling rice. You do not expect a real vegan meal at a steak house simply.

Thank you for sharing it with us! As a Brazilian, it’s extremely hard to find vegan food at a steakhouse. Even the salad bar… they add dairy to everything. Although I appreciate the place offering vegan options, I don’t think I’d pay 40 dollars for some “minimal tofu” and a side of noodles. We all know tofu is very cheap and to me it looks like they barely cooked it. I was expecting it to have a little crust, like they actually spent some time on it. At least now if I have to go I won’t starve lol

I was not pleased or optimistic as I pulled into my staff party at a steakhouse, but wow they had a small extensive menu of vegan options.
I had a vegan Caesar salad, a huge burger, and some french fries. It was great. everything was cooked separately so I didn’t have to worry about not having a vegan burger cooked on the same grill as half of a cow !

I work at a Japanese Steakhouse, The one I work at works with vegans though. They have a good range of options
    vegetable hibachi with steamed rice
    vegetarian ramen no egg
all 3 thai rice dishes no egg and mention that you are vegan, they will omit the oyster and fish sauces and just use mushroom dark and regular soy sauce and get either tofu or veggies.
    drunken noodles same as above
    pad thai same as above
all 7 of the veggie sushi rolls
    edamame
    spring rolls
    vegetable tempura
and that is all I can think of off the top of my head.

I've been wondering about that--my husband and I used to go to the Brazilian steakhouses for special occasions (for meat/salad bar, it's normally over $50 per person). Of course, after going vegan, we thought we would never go again. Good to know that could be an option, again.

Years ago my family insisted on going to Ringside Steakhouse on Burnside in Portland. I recall having the best vegan plate - a huge baked potato, grilled asparagus, zucchini, onion, mushrooms, etc. I was so surprised by how well the plate was done. I do not know if they did this as a special order because the people I went with were friends with the chef and staff... But if they still would do such a plate, I would order it again in a heartbeat!

6:33 That's exactly what it is.
I'm brazilian, and there are a few restaurants like that in Brazil... they just keep bringing food to your table until you ask them to stop. So these signs are for that.
You just pay a fixed price, and they keep bringing it non stop.
The most common places to do that are steakhouses, pizza places (they bring slices of different flavours), pasta places and "finger food" places (they will bring you things like fries, wings, and more authentic brazilian finger foods).

I have been there many times during my meat eating days in the LA. Next, you're correct about the red/green coaster. They should have giving you all the salad bar for free because 'the Churrasco Experience' (i.e. meat eater buffet) also includes Market Table & Feijoada Bar for $68 per/person. they tend to always have a seasonal soup. All in all, it's great to see that they have vegan options at all because it's a very popular place in both the SF Bay and LA areas. I would definitely be interested in serving sizes for the lunch entrées of cauliflower steak ($20) and roasted, veggie power bowl ($20). From their menu, it's definitely a jump in price going from lunch to dinner. Love your content and please do keep the videos coming!!!! 👍🏾👏🏾🙌🏾

So I’m married to a Brazilian and I had to go to this restaurant way too many times with a Brazilian crowd as a vegan and years ago when I went …. There were no vegan options so I just ate salad while watching them walk around with swords of different meats that they would slice and throw on your plate in front of you and it was mortifying to me but, I dealt with it. Yes, the green card means keep the meat coming! What surprises me is most Brazilians eat so many bean dishes why wouldn’t they have vegan bean options? Thank God my husband went vegan a long time ago and dont have to deal with that anymore 😅😂😅😂

I live on an island and most restaurants not have one vegan option if that. It is my biggest complaint towards restaurants. It does not cost them extra to create vegan dishes with what they regularly have in their kitchens. They must realize that even if they won’t make huge profit off of vegan repeat business, families most often have at least one vegan so try to accommodate then the family is more likely to return knowing all their family needs are catered to. Quick question though you guys do know all plants have protein right, dietary protein needs are a lot less than taught.

I would've given some constructive criticism to the chef (or by email if too shy) and not returned until there was a dish with a different flavour profile that is nutritionally adequate and a bit more creative. I just can't pay out the butt for dish that is so inferior to my own basic ass home cooking. Edit: Also a dessert option or two.

Always ask for more sauce....It's a steakhouse. I bet the cauliflower would have been better with more of that sauce they had on the side.

How great that you can go to some steakhouses now as a vegan and not be stuck eating a salad with no dressing!

Personally would be disappointed with these options. I don't want just a think of cauliflower for dinner(even with the side of edamame), not a fan of veggies drenched in oil, or just plain soft tofu with a sauce on top... as a place that expensive with a chef would expect way more

Every time I order a vegan meal at a place like this it is drenched in oil and salt. They never add enough interesting spices. Very bland. I would love more restaurants to offer beans on salads too!

Hello. I dont want to sound toxic but I honestly hope all the soy consumption by vegans isnt too detrimental . Soy was never meant for human consumption and its actually quite toxic. Not to be rude its just truth, its genetically modified and was done so as a means to extract chemicals from it to be used in chemical warfare. They then realized it was edible and cheap and as theres no need for chemical warfare anymore, they just started feeding it to everyone. Thats why theres almost no such thing as truly organic soy, as its genetically modified in its truest nature ( 90% of soy is GMO ) and all of it in the USA realistically is. I honestly lean towards the wheat/mushroom/nut/ other legumes type of meat replacements heavily as they are far more natural. I'm vegan btw and I eat mostly raw, I speak from a place of genuine compassion and consideration not judgement.

Pretty sure people in China have been eating soy for a thousand years so maybe calm down a little.

Well, don't vegetables have some protein, even rice? Please don't sound like you are protein deficient..
