bruv, using a cylinder for the blade to place edges on both sides is low key genius and a much more efficient than taking a plane or cube and trying to merge things to get the exact same edge shape lol
For anyone whos having issues getting a proper symmetrical edge - Change the cylinder vertex count to 10 instead of 9 - This will put a sharp edge on both sides (evenly placed) as well as a smooth front face on both front and back to make the blade insets just as the video shows. Very nice tutorial though :)
For those who are having problems with the subdivision surface deforming the object select all the vertices of the edge that you're having the problem and just press shift+e and drag it until its max. Thats it hope i helped sum1!
Very thick blade and no edge? Other than that it looks really good! Good idea to use a cylinder for the blade, with the edges and all. Depending on what cross-section you want on the blade you could also use a cube and flaten it diagonally to make a diamond shaped or hollowground cross-section! :)
Hi. when i try to select an edge of the box it only selects the edges which are in front and leaves the ones in the back but when you select you select everything withing the selection area. what should I change?
I'mma be honest with you if you watch this at .25 speed this is the best sword tutorial on youtube.

Thanks, I've always had problems with making blade. You showed me few tricks 2
How you used the count on the cylinder was a nice solution for the blade.
THANK YOU SO MUCH BROTHER!!!!
Amazing sword and helpful tutorial👏👏
Nice job
i havent seen an intro like that since 2016

Such a sick tutorial for noobs like me, but damn my ocd going crazy bc of the left side hilt is slightly higher than the ref image 😂
Would’ve preferred 30 minutes video at a normal speed than a 15 minute video that’s super sped up

Toggle X-ray mode before selecting. The default shortcut is Alt+Z.
@@jimkwon5089 Thank youuuuu
Texture??
just apply basic metallic material
Can that sword be transferred to a texture pack? For Minecraft, like blockbench 😅
minecraft has just 2d items
@@dvid6990 It was already, apart from that, can you make bosses for Minecraft?
can you do us all a favor and shorten the intro
bro providing free lessons online and this mans complaining about a 4s intro 🤦♂
man really need a tuto for his lack of respect
do us all a favor and stop being so goddamn impatient
Nice sword but an absolute dumpster fire of a tutorial as far as those go.
stop subdivising everything fr
