Brant dude! Awesome experience you had! This happened to me when I was about 300 yards into Galveston Bay while wade fishing! It dropped right in front of me and I had to run for my life in waist deep water. Every wade fisherman knows how hard that is! 😩 No worrying about stingrays at that point. The suction from the water spout was trying to pull me into it. I finally made it to my truck and was too exhausted to drive so waited while it went right over me. I laid on the floor board and rocked and rolled until it passed. They can be scary indeed! 🌪 I have never been so scared for my life and so completely exhausted at the same time. It was right on my tail when I reached my truck!
that’s awesome really like the authenticity. some days are on fire some days it’s nothing that’s fishing. i grew up watching the pros and when you go out and catch nothing sometimes you get discouraged and decide not to go. but if you don’t go you sure ain’t gonna catch any. love the vids keep them coming.
As a retired weatherman who worked this very area for 40 years, I have to compliment you on some of the best waterspout-to-tornado footage I’ve ever seen. Good stuff! There have been instances where these very storms have come ashore in Pensacola and caused significant damage. Great content!
Amazing video! Thanks for showing the bad with the good. It's more realistic to real life. Really enjoy your work and appreciate the videos. God bless you.
I was fishing in the Perdido key side that moment, watching the tornado and wondering anxiously what was happening to the people over there. Who could’ve through that it was over you. Glad that you are fine. The 2nd formation was happening right in front of me. Grateful to God that did not turn in to full fledged tornado! Stay safe and God bless!
Brant, hi I only saw 1 waterspout in life, I guess I was 9 Went out with an UNCLE to a sand bar, this was JAMAICA BWI in the late 1948 RACAM CAY. we only have about 1 foot tide It started getting suddenly dark when the boat floats, it’s time to go, then there was this waterspout, , we got out there real quick, pulled into PORT ROYAL, until it blew over, I NEVER EVER FORGOT THAT TIME, STAY WELL 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇾
I watched that storm from the kitchen window in our Perdido key rental. It was amazing to see from here. I can’t imagine what it was like up close. I hope the grass hasn’t shut me down. I am planning on an early morning trip tomorrow.
So funny I stumbled upon this video. I was stepping out to the jet for a flight on base at the time, spotted the water spout, and immediately turned around lol.
I live across form Pcola Beach. We had one right down the street in Tiger Point same day. Usually they dont happen often here and when they do its out in the middle of the bay or out in the woods somewhere. Nice video bro!
Our little slice of paradise really does have it all for the most part, maybe lacking on theme parks and what not but we do have some good fishing spots and i'd take those over theme park any day.
I just found your channel and am spending a lot of time every going through your videos lol your passion for fishing is so awesome! Really love your stuff!
Brant I wax down there with a friend Monday morning at daylight as well we were fishing bay side where you were fishing last Wednesday near the campground checkin building. We got trapped in that mini storm and saw the cyclone as well
Beautiful footage. Very Scary. Glad you guys got out of there. Thanks for sharing. Just goes to show you the importance of watching your surroundings and being aware of what’s happening.
Brant!!! Oh man, I am glad nothing serious happened to you, Buddy! Still hoping I'll get a chance to get in some fishing time with you, as I'm down the road in Navarre, and Red Snapper season is closing in!! Stay safe, brother, and keep the videos coming!
Had that happen to me fishing a big bay on Lake Powell one time. It happened so fast all we had time to do was put on our life jackets and hope for the best. It crossed the bay right in front of us and was gone before we knew it.
When I was a teenager my Dad , and me where out on the jetty at Port Arthur TX. A really big waterfront A.K.A. Tornado 🌪 was coming at your boat 🚢 . The fishing was really good so my dad, and me wanted to keep fishing 🎣 but my mom 👩 put an end to that. But it was cool you could see the ground around it .well that's it hope you enjoyed my story of a day in my life. James H. .
Wow down in southern OZ we don’t get tornado’s am I right in what I saw, the grey area at the base was that monster sucking up sea water into the air. Great footage, every fisho has a bad weather story but one that suck you up and spit you out to sea was strangely enough quite scary but entertaining, thanks for sharing the full spectrum of fishing your turf
Ok, as a lifelong resident of P-Cola. That is nothing more than a county-wide sprinkler system. Nothing to worry about...I was at Navy Point as it came across the Pensacola Naval Air Station. Love me some Blue Angels. From the looks of it, you are at Fort Pickens, a great place to land dinner.
Hi Brant when I worked on the Capt Stacy in NC back in the 1990's we was about 30 miles offshore fishing and counted 7 waterspouts all at once from one storm front the captain was able to keep us away from the storm we fished all day. When we got back to the dock we found out a charter boat had been hit by a small waterspout that morning it took out the outriggers and antennas everyone was OK and the boat returned to the dock.
Great video Brant it was a pretty nice Hammer that you helped your friend land good start to your day in the very interesting ending always fascinating watching a tornado I've witnessed four of them up close in my lifetime one of them ended up being way too close it dropped a 65-foot willow tree on my bedroom the most interesting one was over at my grandma's sitting on her front porch with her and we watched one go down the railroad tracks three blocks from her house plucking trees as it went
I hate fishing... only did it 2x ever (and of course had beginner's luck, catching Blue right off Cocoa Beach while the "expert" with me caught jellyfish lol), but i love your videos.. especially the GoPro footage underwater... subbed!!
I was on the other side of the pass, and got a good video. I also got a nice red, and got on a school of jacks feeding in shallow water. Sent my video to WEAR. Posted it on FB, and weather channel contacted me wanting to use it pretty cool. I ran into Brad, and he said you about got caught by it too, but I feel you I was in a boat, and started heading west pretty quick. Stay Safe
Had one come over navarre pier when I was a teenager. Mr holly was the only person standing still fishing. We all went to hold down our carts. He yelled stand up you cowards. 😂
I saw that on the news when I got to work here in Oregon. They said it was in Pensacola and I immediately thought of you...lol. I'm glad you caught it! rather than vice versa😂
I’m in PCola and love watching the places you fish. I often try to identify where you are by the scenes around. I store and operate of the Grand Bayou Marina on NASP. I often wonder if I will run into you boys on the water. Keep doing what you’re doing. Love the content.
Wow that must have been scary! A few weeks back I almost got caught in a lightning storm at Matanzas Beach where I was filming my fishing adventure 🤦🏽♀️ I just posted that video about 5 days ago. I barely got the camera and other equipment covered before it started dumping…and it was a looong soaking walk back to the car 🤷🏻♀️ Thanks for the exciting content!

New channel: StormChase with Brant!
Dayum! Kansas has some nice beaches! 🤣
We're stationed in Nas Pensacola, we had that tornado next to the flight deck on base
That was a heck of a storm!!! Won't rain on my tomatoes for nothing, now. Glad you guys are safe and sound.
that’s awesome really like the authenticity. some days are on fire some days it’s nothing that’s fishing. i grew up watching the pros and when you go out and catch nothing sometimes you get discouraged and decide not to go. but if you don’t go you sure ain’t gonna catch any. love the vids keep them coming.
Good shot of that funnel cloud. I see them all the time out in the boat. Scary and exhilarating at the same time.
As a land locked Kansan, this is what we call any given day in the spring! Great footage!
That's crazy! Glad you were able to get out of the way!
Thanks for sharing your storm story with us. This may be your coolest video!
Tornado chasing with Bryant! Nice video! Glad to see you're ok!
Brent in shorts, that's a first. And you left your fishing cart in the rain. What the what. 👍
Just a camper girl here, Native, I have seen the weirdest weather out there but nothing like that! Great video. GO 🐊🐊😂😂
Thanks for sharing the bad with the good. Every day is not a “chamber of commerce” weather day. Stay safe!

Had a tornado hit the farm two weeks ago, major damage. Truly enjoy your videos.

Brant I wax down there with a friend Monday morning at daylight as well we were fishing bay side where you were fishing last Wednesday near the campground checkin building. We got trapped in that mini storm and saw the cyclone as well
I remember really close lightning fishing there years ago. But don't recall tornadoes. At least when we were fishing. Lol
Beautiful footage. Very Scary. Glad you guys got out of there. Thanks for sharing. Just goes to show you the importance of watching your surroundings and being aware of what’s happening.

Gotta love fishing around waterspouse...
Seeing a tornado is on my bucket list. Amazing video.
I was there too! My family and I were leaving the camp area. I pulled out and was like “we’ll there’s a tornado”. It was in the gulf at that point.
That was cool. Thank goodness you got outta there.
Had a few in Gulfport this morning, I usually see them in pascaugla from the ships. Had 2 come close in bay once
Glad you’re alright! That was crazy
Dude! You captured some crazy shots unlike any other!! Congrats!!!
I'm sure that gave you a rush you don't get too often fishing! haha, great vid as usual

Solid video and thank you!!!! When does the channel “Brant’s Storm Chasing” start? 😂
There are tornado warnings in the state of Florida, I hope you stay safe while on the water.
I was on the other side of the pass, and got a good video. I also got a nice red, and got on a school of jacks feeding in shallow water. Sent my video to WEAR. Nice sharing master, keep sharing I enjoy your video, God Bless :-) 🐠 ☺🙏⛵⛵⛵🐟🐟🐟
I would love to see a video where you just walk up to a random fisherman, use their tackle and rod whatever they may have and catch a fish.
Crazy experience be safe out there.

Cool video. Was working in a condo yesterday and seen that water spout go thru.
That spout hung around for a while!
Awesome Catch. 🌪🌪
Had one come over navarre pier when I was a teenager. Mr holly was the only person standing still fishing. We all went to hold down our carts. He yelled stand up you cowards. 😂
I've seen three water spouts in the Gulf of south Texas. They can really push the surf up from a good distance.
Bro tanks for your time and your videos I’ll like them all tanks
Awesome video. But most of all, glad you’re safe. That was insane.
Appreciate it
I live in Pensacola and glad yall are ok!

Clear skies ...
Brant was crusing the beach the other day and saw 4 or 5 monster barracuda swimming 50ft off beach that would be a cool catch if you see one

Sucks it’s been raining damn near everyday around 5-6 in the afternoon when I actually like to go fishing because it’s not so hot out lol
Brant: Hope to meet you soon and go fishing with you too.
