Hey buddy I've been to Destin numerous of times and I've been trying to find new places to fish I'm from Brunswick area around Jekyll and St Simons islands
I’ve walked that path countless times. The first 3 years we tore up the big bull reds then not a bite for 5 years so we now go to Perdido way less people. But we go in the middle of October which should be good. I believe as shallow as the pass is it’s hot or miss. Beautiful place! We have caught a bunch of nice mangrove off the point pay the pilling pipe sticking up out of the water
Brant I will be traveling down from Illinois to Miramar next week. Glad to see you fishing by there right before I come down. Cant wait to get a line in the water! Keep up the good work!
My wife grew up in Fort Walton across the bridge and she LOVES Destin we would move there now if we could! I have fished that very same spot you are many times.
Great video I always love it when you guys drop the GoPro down there and show us the fish that water was so clean it's almost like looking at them in a Aquarium didn't want a blessing to be spending a weekend that beautiful condo on the beach God is truly blessed you and Melanie hoping to see the bacon grease goddess do a cooking episode while you're there👍
I like the underwater videos you have been taking recently. Nice to see all the fish action so close to shore. Long slog on 98 from P’cola to Destin and back during tourist months.
Ok. Here's a question for Brant and for any viewers who want to voice an opinion. I recently gave away my 12' foot ugly sticks, which I used for surf fishing, because they were so insensitive I might as well as have been using a broomstick. I have heard a lot of conversation about steelhead rods. I want a rod that has enough power to clear the second sandbar with , at most, a 2 oz weight, but will be light enough to cast and work a plug or a spoon and still feel the bite and enjoy the fight. I use spinning gear, but I'm not opposed to a conventional reel. I'm 78. I don't want to wrestle with anything too heavy. I usually use 20 pound braid, with 12 to 15 lb fluorocarbon. I use lighter poles and gear for whiting and flounder.
I love this guy and I love Florida. I have been living in South Carolina 64 years . I’ve been to Key West , all up the east coast but I’ve never been to the panhandle that’s on my bucket list.
was over in the corner to the right of where you were a few weeks before with my son using a beach bum pompano rigs with fresh peeled shrimp and caught a couple really nice Spanish. my son is 5 and had a blast catching those and a ton of pinfish. didnt see many mangroves down on our end.
My hometown is right across the bay from Destin. Brant, it would be so cool if you could night fish the t-dock in Niceville! There are some nice reds, mangroves, trout, and jack crevalle.
For mangroves, I think cut ballyhoo works a little better than shrimp because it stays longer on the hook and it seems to fire up the bigger mangroves.
Loved Destin when I was attending military schooling at Eglin. I was more of a party bum/beach bum back then vs a fishing bum. Good action off the jetty!
Since there were several mangrove snapper in the area, I expect we will be seeing a visit from CMR soon. Also, the “Whiting Whisperer” (Beach Bum) may want to visit as well.
Fished this jetty last fall for the first time. Raining and thunder but got into some big pin fish a few small jacks and then hit a huge lady fish jump at the end of the jetty.
Thank you Brent I enjoy watching your videos and new places to go fishing and looking forward to fishing at that spot today you were just fishing is thank you
Fish legion park in the evening.....its in Miramar on the bay side....or Thomas pilcher at 331 Bridge....really cool spot...ill be there in October can't wait!!!!
Where’s “Dustin”? I don’t see it on the Florida map. Is it near Destin? Just messin’ with ya! I’m a fisherman living in Phoenix, AZ. I’ve surf fished the East Coast around Melbourne and Sebastian many times, and I love it! After watching and subscribing to your channel, I hope to try surf fishing the West Coast and Panhandle. I really enjoy watching your high quality videos, Brant!
Hey! Shrimp run the first full moon of September! I would love to see a video of some shrimping action with cast nets on the beach! I live in Tallahassee and go down to Alligator point to shrimp next weekend. 😁
I’m guessing you’re on the east jetty. If you go up that wall to the bay side, Norriego point, you can fish the bay/harbor area from the public beach access. I’ve caught a lot of reds on that side.
Was this today? I was literally there at the very end of the jetty fishing (skunked) from 6am-8:30am. Talked to the father and son in your video as well. Vacationing from NC.
Brant, you are such a nice guy taking Fred on vacation with you guys. Does Melanie mind him riding in the car with you? 😁. Before I forget thanks for the video. I think ive asked this before, where did the name Fred come from? I know dumb question, just curious lol.
Do those condo places have no fishing rules or anything? I know some places on the water will try and say it's a private beach or whatever but different states deal with it differently.
My scuba instructor back in the day used to keep some canned cheese spread in his pocket and would squirt a little bit in his hand then choose a victim and pat them on the head. The Sargent Majors would immediately come and pick the cheese out of their hair. Ouch!
Brent enlightened me brother I live in Florida man and the shrimp this time of the year are so d***** small you could barely hope. So where in the world are you buying such large shrimp during the mists of the summer heat,
Bro any chance you could show how you rig your shrimp with that circle hook please? I caught a couple nice mangroves in the St Pete area today but many hooks came back with just heads lol
Brant have you tried the Fish Bites chum? It comes in little disks and it would be cool to put in front of your camera. Cool video, Destin has good cobia fishin'.
No big fish were harmed in the making of this video lol
YES, many fish down there swimming around, lmao...and most ALL...hook smart...those that aren't, are soon culled.
Im pretty sureva few had a slightly sore mouth! Lol
Wonder if those Mangrove Snapper are easier to catch at Night. I Know fishing the Beach at night is nonstop with the Croaker and Whiteing
Hey buddy I've been to Destin numerous of times and I've been trying to find new places to fish I'm from Brunswick area around Jekyll and St Simons islands
@@colbyshingler2537 well you have GREAT fishing at your home place !!!!
I fish the mississippi coast . not as good as Destin.
Great day for fishing in the harbor, lots of fish to catch

Awesome video. It's crazy seeing all those fish in 1 area.
Destin has always been a cool place to visit, fishing and habitat is killer too!
Brant I will be traveling down from Illinois to Miramar next week. Glad to see you fishing by there right before I come down. Cant wait to get a line in the water! Keep up the good work!

Love those underwater clips! Super cool!
I am really enjoying the underwater camera work!!!! Thanks for another great video!
Great video I always love it when you guys drop the GoPro down there and show us the fish that water was so clean it's almost like looking at them in a Aquarium didn't want a blessing to be spending a weekend that beautiful condo on the beach God is truly blessed you and Melanie hoping to see the bacon grease goddess do a cooking episode while you're there👍
This would be a great place to do some snorkeling and spearfishing
Brant you are my hero. You are really getting good with this and I've been watching for a long time. Excellent
I like the underwater videos you have been taking recently. Nice to see all the fish action so close to shore. Long slog on 98 from P’cola to Destin and back during tourist months.
Awesome video! Love all the underwater footage and the snapper that you caught absolutely!
Love the underwater gopro scenes
Soooo many fish! Those whiting are stacked! Really cool underwater footage. Great video.
The kid’s like, “ Y did ya drop d fish on the ground ?!! Ya could’ve just handed to me!”

The best show anywhere to watch. We need to move to Florida.

Nice man! I’ve applied a lot of your techniques her on the west coast and it’s upped my game for sure. Thanks for the videos.

I live in the Pensacola area and every one of your videos makes me want to ditch work and go fishing. Keep up the great content!
Another great video Brant. Good job!!!
I love this guy and I love Florida. I have been living in South Carolina 64 years . I’ve been to Key West , all up the east coast but I’ve never been to the panhandle that’s on my bucket list.
Is the fishing good there in S.C.?
was over in the corner to the right of where you were a few weeks before with my son using a beach bum pompano rigs with fresh peeled shrimp and caught a couple really nice Spanish. my son is 5 and had a blast catching those and a ton of pinfish. didnt see many mangroves down on our end.
The GoPro is a very nice touch.

LoL, I've never heard of " piggy perch" but I love it! We just called them grunts.
Loved Destin when I was attending military schooling at Eglin. I was more of a party bum/beach bum back then vs a fishing bum. Good action off the jetty!
Love it down there and lots of good surf fishing if you can find a good spot. Great video. Really enjoyed it.
Since there were several mangrove snapper in the area, I expect we will be seeing a visit from CMR soon. Also, the
“Whiting Whisperer” (Beach Bum) may want to visit as well.
Man we just missed you. We were in a beach house there a couple weeks ago. I spent half my time there at the pass fishing. Awesome video
Thanks, Brant! Great video!
Fished this jetty last fall for the first time. Raining and thunder but got into some big pin fish a few small jacks and then hit a huge lady fish jump at the end of the jetty.
Thank you Brent I enjoy watching your videos and new places to go fishing and looking forward to fishing at that spot today you were just fishing is thank you
I can’t believe you didn’t catch those fish with your hands and take the hooks out.
If you go magnet fishing can you catch a fish with a hook in its mouth?😄
Fish legion park in the evening.....its in Miramar on the bay side....or Thomas pilcher at 331 Bridge....really cool spot...ill be there in October can't wait!!!!
Love it. Fish with a cane pole wading would be awesome.
Could you do a video that shows your rigs? Like what knots you use to tie on your jig heads vs a Carolina rig vs your pompano rigs?
Where’s “Dustin”? I don’t see it on the Florida map. Is it near Destin? Just messin’ with ya! I’m a fisherman living in Phoenix, AZ. I like these underwater videos!
Think i just caught on to how you hook your shrimp. Line pull through it then sink hook?
Can’t believe you’ve never fished those jetties! Guess I’ve never fished the river in Milton either so we both got some exploring to do!
Hey! Shrimp run the first full moon of September! I would love to see a video of some shrimping action with cast nets on the beach! I live in Tallahassee and go down to Alligator point to shrimp next weekend. 😁

One of my favorite spots to fish! Those rocks have cost me a couple cast nets--you have to be really careful catching bait.
Was this today? I was literally there at the very end of the jetty fishing (skunked) from 6am-8:30am. Talked to the father and son in your video as well. Vacationing from NC.
Love the go pro under water video
That was some serious bountiful shores
What did you do hooking that shrimp? You double hooked right? Please explain!
That first Mangrove had a hook in his lip....I was Treed on that statement...Then I was like number 666...LOL...
@8:06 we see two fish at the front of the screen. One has black stripes across its eyes, are they both mangrove snappers?
Well done Brant.
Brant, you are such a nice guy taking Fred on vacation with you guys. Does Melanie mind him riding in the car with you? 😁. Before I forget thanks for the video. I think ive asked this before, where did the name Fred come from? I know dumb question, just curious lol.
Brant Preacher You the man
While you are in Destin check out Kenny D's. The Spicy Mahi Tenders are the best.
Until this video I had never heard of Sargent Majors, outside the military. Thanks for that
Hey fishing family, where can I get one of those carts from? And what's it called?
Was that a blue/yellow damsel at 6:39? Beautiful fish!
Great job on the video. keep living your dreams. mangrove sandwich 🥪 😋. God Bless and stay safe 🙏
Fred gets around!
Go Noles!
Aloha. That was nice of you to offer a fish. Was there a reason why you just dropped it on the sand during handoff?
Yup. They didn’t have a cooler and they told me to put it down right there?
Do those condo places have no fishing rules or anything? I know some places on the water will try and say it's a private beach or whatever but different states deal with it differently.
Can you tell me exactly where you was at in Destin please tired of fishing the pier every time I go there
I think that Mangrove in the beginning had a hook in its mouth
Brant, can you try casting the GoPro way out in the surf. I would just like to see what’s out their
How far was the walk?
Would love to see a triple tail catch clean cook
If you had wanted to could you had used a set net , or thrown a net I know in Florida it has to be 14 inches.
My scuba instructor back in the day used to keep some canned cheese spread in his pocket and would squirt a little bit in his hand then choose a victim and pat them on the head. The Sargent Majors would immediately come and pick the cheese out of their hair. Ouch!
Brant what size surf penn spinfisher reel size do you use and what rod length?
I have a bunch of different ones. 10ft rod with a 5500 slammer is my favorite
Fred, always on standby.
Great...
Brent enlightened me brother I live in Florida man and the shrimp this time of the year are so d***** small you could barely hope. So where in the world are you buying such large shrimp during the mists of the summer heat,
Destin FL is a place I want to go some day
Bro any chance you could show how you rig your shrimp with that circle hook please? I caught a couple nice mangroves in the St Pete area today but many hooks came back with just heads lol
Last time I fished the west jetty I killed on a spoon.
Mostly Blues with Spanish, jacks and a hardtail now and then.Got hit almost every pass.
Brant have you tried the Fish Bites chum? It comes in little disks and it would be cool to put in front of your camera.
Cool video, Destin has good cobia fishin'.
Love the video as always man. Have you ever fished with Bama Saltwater?
awesome video as always, did you let Beach Bum know about all them Whittens?
Big mangroves
Did y’all catch the fish with the hook in its mouth in the beginning 😉
Great vid!
Nobody fishing but you in those rocks so Fred morphed into a human and was like “ Yo can I get yo fish” 🤪
I never knew that people call a croaker a piggy perch😂
Probably going to see more mangrove snapper. Lol. I’ll see.
More U/W GoPro! More, more, more!
well next time I go on vacation in Destin I know where to get fresh fish for dinner
Brent while your down there go check out Kick Ass Coffee it is AMAZING!!!!
