I practiced this against AI a few times and now I won my first game with this build against human. Now I'm going to bed to finish my day at a high note. :-) The great part about it was it's simplicity. Very few buildings and one unit. I'm at gold league now, so I'm allowed to make mistakes. But I believe I'll get more precise the way I practice it more. Thanks for the good tutorial. I'll check your other vsX builds too. ^_^
I used to be a diamond Zerg player. Haven't played in 10 years. I remember people using this 4gate against me and I would always rage. I can definitely believe this build being strong even after 10 years of sc2 patches.
i really don't know what to think about the fact that builds that were played 10 years ago are still viable lol
@@piotrsykut6999 well there was this Korean pro who used to be one of the best but he had to quite because he had to do his mandatory military service. When he came back after a few years the meta had shifted but he played the exact same as he did before. A style many thought wasn't possible anymore at the highest level of play. So yea the game changes a lot and in 10 years a lot happends but strats like these are so basic and at a strat like this doesn't really change at its core. Maybe stalkers get nerfed just use adepts instead.

I started from Silver Tier 3, and *only using this build* I've recently hit Diamond!
So yeah this build order is kinda insane
You climb the ladder very quickly

Well, I can say, this strategy is definately beatable. None the less, I also climbed from silver to plat, within only 2 days, with this build. I never had a proper build order in my life before. I will have to start learning transitions and proper mid game now. Maybe start with you blink stalker build?!

Really good for new players and ´players coming back, I feel like other guides skit 80% of whats hard for new players and you talk about everyting wp!
One of the best strategies I've used to reach diamond in 2017 and still works
i really like it. i just started playing sc2 and i m allready winning a couple games here and there with it. sometimes it fails horribly but thats okay lol. what i really like how expandable this strat is. like the one in the video is pretty much just the early core strat but its so easy to just add a couple more buildings or add a couple more gates , warp in some different units and adapt a little. i m not forced to go stalkers.

Hushang taught me this build and I went from Silver2 to Plat2 within a week!
I don’t think it was known about at this time but triggers 4 gate hits a lot harder. It involves proxying your 2nd pylon and building a proxy 3rd gateway before the 2 stalkers. And then you build another proxy pylon and proxy 4th gate after stalkers 3,4,5. You use 1 chrono on probes and 2 on warp gate.
Interesting that trigger is proxying 2 gates instead of 1. I like that you included the timing of 4th gate. Makes sense since WG finishes after the 2nd round of stalkers

Here it is... 2024... I've been playing since OG SC and I've always sucked. I've accepted I have always sucked, and really just play for fun. I main Zerg (Which is only like... Silver 2). I watched this video and went instant unstoppable. I was shocked. It's almost broken it seems. thanks for the old, yet still relevant video :).

Thank you very much for this build order. It's the same beginner build order I used last time. I haven't played Starcraft 2 for more than five years now and startet it again yesterday. Until now I won two out of three placement matches. Even though it's very simple, it makes it easy for me to get used to the game once again.

I’m actually curious how far you can get with this. PvZ would probably get hard quickly as when Zerg scouts no wall on the low ground then they’ll freak out haha. I gotta test it one day.

@@jellybean6902 Nexus, Robo and Council, Blink + charge, create 3-4 inmortals, 6 min create 3rd nexus, 2 forge atk+def, create disruptors, 4th base at 8:30 if you can. Then it's all based on the context. Make sure to create batteries or canons in your base just in case of invisible units/ships/drops.
4 gated a toss for my promotion match to diamond and it worked =)

Just started playing SC2 again. Took a little bit to get the hang of the timing of this build, but it stomps when you get it right. Sometimes 12 pool lings will leak into the main before the stalkers pop, but if you keep a probe ready to full wall with a shield battery you should be safe ;3

After 6 years finally came back to sc2 again. I practiced a lot against Elite AI and now started using it in ranked placement games. So far, if your opponent just plays a regular game, you can beat him no problem. I'm probably not that good yet, but I found it really frustrating to play against Terran proxy marine rush.

1) Cntrl + left click to select same type on screen
2) cntrl + # to create new group ie) cntrl + 2 OR shift + # to ADD to already created control group

10:10 isn’t W a default bind to select your warp gates which makes the control group with the warps useless or am I wrong?

Good build.However,we can have same 8 stalkers at 3:40, but with second base. Just need to hide second pylon in the middle of the map. And install there proxy gate. And we have only 3 gates. 4 stalkers from 2 gates from home base,and 5th from proxy. After warp is ready just make warp of 3 stalkers in proxy. After install 2nd base and pylon. Also easy. And 2nd base.
10 stalkers are a critical number because they 1 shot a stalker

Some basic things to start learning as a beginner are utilizing your keyboard shortcuts/hotkeys, spending your money, starting to add units and buildings to control groups etc...

1st Your tutorials are amazing. Well made.
2nd I've played that opening and won 14 outta 16 games. This destroyed 100% of my PvP opponents. (I'm new and new to RTS. Won vs 3 different plat players)
Had more problems with terrans tho. Since most of them that scouted just slapped down a wall and a siege tank at the front door. I could delay second base but couldn't finnish it there. What should I do?
3rd With what would you follow after that? (second base and Archon+zealots+immortal?)

This build is pretty 'all in' so you need to win with the attack right away. If they have a second base you should ignore it and go straight to the ramp. If they end up defending then you are in a very bad position. There's usually no follow up but you could try archon zealot or colossus.
Im going to be honnest. That build was so good that Im now playing vs diamond/master player and Im getting fucked😂

Hi, I want to ask, would it be better if i proxied my second pylon and built my 3rd and 4th gate across the map instead? That way the warp ins would be faster during the attack.
No, because it's very obvious you're proxying to high level players. You can do it below diamond/masters though and people probably won't notice and then it'll be faster. Against GM's it won't work for sure
So does the other problem when I fight terrains and there’s a lot of them. I always get attacked by the marauders right away. Your strategy is OK if you don’t get attacked early but when I play, I get attacked early at the two minute mark consistently.
This opening gets more units than standard builds that are able to defend early rushes. One step you could take to be extra safe is send an early scout to your opponents base to see if they built their production buildings at home or on your side of the map. If you need some help post your replay in the discord channel to get some feedback. We would love to have ya in there :)

Not sure if someone is still here, but I have a few noob questions: is this really SC2, because the build menu looks like the old one. What map is this? The build time of my pylons is at least 22 seconds, while normally in your video it is 18 seconds (normal speed). Why is mine different?
The game is normally played on faster and not normal speed lol. They changed it from the beta but didnt rename them
So as a Terran player, I scout one base, 2 gate, 2 gas 2 pylons and Core at 1:40. I build my CC on the high ground, get my Factory and a couple bunkers and go into Marine Tank Lib to hold this? I should have about 1 Tank and 7 Marines at 4:00, and then 2 Tanks at 4:10.

Basically full economy boom right át the start like I ám going for an expansion in 3 minites of the game and I build every structures because it requires a lot of buildings tó unlock mothership and then mass producing carriers and a few tempest and void Rays but only probléma you can make one mothership át the time

Hi, I had a quick question. I tried this build out and it worked great against protoss and terran, but whenever I played against Zerg it always felt like they had so much more firepower than me and were able to defeat my 12 stalkers. I am super new to the game, so instead of the 3:30 time you suggested for warping in the stalkers mine was more of a 3:45. Not sure whether that small time difference is the reason I'm not able to pull this off, or if there is something else. Please do let me know!
Yeah, it does tend to be a lot weaker against zerg specifically. What MMR rating are you at now? If you're fairly close to the optimal warp in time already then you can probably move on to a macro build. The main goal here is to get you to realize how precise you want to be for more long term orientated builds and... it sounds like you've almost mastered that
already :)
@@HuShang I played the game a little bit a few years ago on an old account on which I forgot the password. Recently, I've been playing for less than a week, and I still haven't unlocked the 1v1 ranked mode yet, so the MMR is probably bronze/silver players, not too sure.
Edit: I played like 10 games of this build order, and I crushed all of the terran and protoss players, but I played against zerg twice and lost both games.

This build is criminally strong on low level. It's hard not to call this cheese.

trying this build but even if i have all the timings correct i can't have those eight stalkers before average six minutes and a half. idk what to improve
No need for a control group on warp gates, just press W and it will select every warp gate you have.
There are some advantages to hotkeying it on a control group, but it's mostly a habit from playing this game before that key was available

You can expand but only if your opponent doesn't have a 2nd base. If they have a 2nd base + it fails, you can GG

I'll have to give it a try! Question, there's already a default hotkey to select all warp gates (Y I think), is there any benefit to manually setting them to a control group? I just finished my placement matches today after playing ai matches for 10 days and got put in gold 3 for some reason...kinda struggling there since I'm still getting used to hot keys and especially control groups.
I started playing before that was introduced so im just used to it. It is beneficial to have the gates on a key prior to warp gate so you can make units while looking at something else. Don't worry about getting placed gold, the game will keep trying to find your correct mmr. If you want there's a leave league feature. It doesn't change your hidden rating but it will change your league placement which can be nice so you can get promoted later on when you improve :)
Instead of setting warp gates to a control key, can't you just hit "W" on the keyboard? W,S,S,S,S inside a warpzone is easier for me.. Just thinking out loud..🤣 Love the video!

Normally if you commit really heavily to something like this attack, you can't transition. Check out the other beginner protoss build for something a little more macro focussed :) Glad you're enjoying the content dude. Feel free to come join us on discord as well

There is no transition in most cases, this build is pretty all in. I have some other builds on the channel that are more macro orientated

in 2:06 Reaper come to your base and detroy your probes i think the first stalker should be chronoboost vs terran
2:06 is too early for a reaper. Your opponent proxied their barracks(placed it on your side of the map).

Will this still work if you scout with the probe that made the first gateway? Unfortunately you never said anything about scouting yourself. Died to a 12 pool because of it :P
Sadly this build stops working on KR server at around Gold III, ~2600 mmr or so

(also in pvp it works MUCH higher. Can get you to grandmaster honestly)
what was the point of upgrading to warp gates if you're teaming up anyway?
Not sure what you mean exactly. Its faster to attack right? Otherwise they'd have to walk across the whole map

I am following this guide to a t and I am at 2:30 every game and my cybernetics core isnt even up, so I cannot get the stalkers being made by the 2:00 mark

Faster warp.ins and tjey won't see em.in your base :)
They will see your pylon missing which is a huge tell at higher mmrs
