I would recommend for these teaching videos to give more of the "why" behind the builds than the "what", that way it helps them understanding the deeper mechanics of the game making it easier to transition into adapting to the enemy rather than sticking to a strict "because someone said so" build.
Many times you do a good job at explaining why, but I do feel like there are times where I'm left wondering "why though?" Could just be because I'm dumb, though. 😂
Well, this is just the build order so I don't really want to add the why otherwise it'll be a 4 hour video. If you ask your questions though I can probably answer them in the comments :). Or if you want to do some coaching I can give you more specific answers for all of your questions.

@@raensaeck I think he's making good use of the early stage (first 3 minutes) to build some good economy and buildings, then having a basic defense against pretty much any early attack to your main (first marines at the natural) 3 marines on the steps (against reapers trying to screw around your SCVs) and an air unit to catch ground units; at minute 5, he's focusing on expanding a basic army and making upgrades, Marines are the cheapest and very versatile unit, he's just adding siege tanks to start pushing later without spending too much gas, since he's using it for upgrades.
this build order is intended to catch any chesse at the beggining and secure steady income.
one thing I think it was missing was to check for proxies, but we're assuming the other player wants to use standard build order as well.

for NEW PLAYERS, you can think of supply as a heartbeat so you have a rhythm going on in doing all these at the start of the game
Shift+num groups
orbitals
engr bay and armory
training buildings
supply depot SCV
army
SCV at 0.00 [constantly make these]

build depot (and 100 minerals)

build barracks, refinery and another depot
TIP: ongoing building/training units are already counted to the supply
always fill up refinery once its done

TIP: you can make the scv wait so you could build when the resources are available

Good video man! As a suggestion to anyone I would highly advice sending a scv on 16 in TvZ straight to there natural. Red or Orange = pool 1st and yellow = hatch 1st. Makes it very easy to tell.

Great video! missed the orbital on natural at 30 supply though! Experienced zerg player trying to learn terran, the build orders seem trickier for sure! Hatchery and injects easier than production facility macro

I've grown up on Lowko videos, too. There's even an old video with the Marine+Marauder+Medevac build order, but it misses words about defense against different oracles. I'm gonna try this build order out now

This is a very important build to keep on your pocket.Terran Vs all races (TvX).I will enjoy practicing this build.The big question for me is the scouting concerning this build.But that can wait.Great video for all SC2 players.
ZenTraiDee this build is quite safe against roaches all in if you get somewhat of the idea that they are coming. Marauder have good range in bunker. And also very safe against colossus if you build 4-5 marauder and place them in front. The only downside of the build is potential early gas usage against cheese which is very common on low ranks. If the opponent go macro , your marine objectives will be sniping nexus/hatchery . They can not have 1/1 upgrade and tech upgrade at the same time when you hit em.
@@tiendoan6417 This build is identical to that of the build of cure and alive(pretty much a copy under lowkos upload for Terran build) and pretty much is abuse for greed attacks.The only optimal of this build is like having a 2 factory to maximize the force.

Im pretty new to starcraft but im an old dog to rts, i played a lot of AoE and C&C. I like these types of videos, and wanted to thank you for the this guide. Also, i have a question, what are the cheesy plays that low rated players often do at the beginning of the game that are simple for veterans to counter, but those like me who are unfamiliar to the game can easily fall? I want to know because my friend (who played starcraft for years) challenged me to a match, but i am still learning the game.

Im just starting to play this game now. I really like this tutorial, but a suggestion - for me i can pause while playing with the AI. If you play the game normally, but pause as you go to explain what youre doing in most of the steps, or pause before you enter a hectic situation for newbies where you have to micro alot. In my opinion I could follow this much easier. What I did is played the game at the same time and paused and listened to what you did.

I like how you do it in the replay. Its good - but maybe it could be even better if you played an easy AI and explained at the same time w the pause feature. You would know better than me though so if you've tried that style and it wasnt as good content wise / information providing, I'd completely understand.
This almost exactly what I do for TvZ except I get a reaper and 4 hellions. And I add 2 more barracks instead of a 3rd. Works well for me. Although I feel like Terran has a weakness around 3:30v- 3:45 where the front wall is wide open for mass speedlings and banes. Any thought on holding it?
Yeah generally you open hellions as you get to a higher level to stop ling floods. If you're making 4 hellions you should be okay though you just need to abuse the choke point at your ramp. Move there so the lings funnel in and you'll kill them easier

You got the Orbital Command scan ability right, you ought to have enough energy to use it in the late game whenever the need arises
what is the build order if the protoss tries to cannon rush?
I like the video a lot. I started playing again a few week ago with some friends after i stopped pvp before the heart of the swarm update. Earlier i mainly played zerg but im into terrans right now. My friends all play protoss and ur videos helped me a lot. Maybe i start ranked soon haha. But i have a question after all. Its not rlly related to that video ( build order etc) but i didnt find something similar on your channel. Its about the battle cruiser. Its possible to cheese about 5 of them out at min 10. Then u can use that super nice ability of then and just let them jump in the enemys base. It works at min 7-8 with about 1 or 2 of them too but after it i have nothing else. So we played with it a lot and i have problems if he do early expandations or something ( still protoss match up). Are there some tips for it and is it even worth a Strategy i ask now. There's a good chance you'll end up getting them destroyed because if they're building a large army for the early game, it'll be more powerful than 5 BC's and you may not have enough energy to warp out if you get caught.

My comment is a little "fanboyish" but has nothing to do with the game of Starcraft 2.
I love the fact that I can search the term "beginner terran build order" and you are the top creator on UA-cam for this keyword term. With only 7.52K subs this video is #1 and beats out big names like Winter and Pig. The reason for that feat is obvious when you look at the analytics. Your SEO and Optimization scores are almost perfect and flawless. You keep that up and you'll be able to rank a Marine/Zerling/Stalker circle jerk vid #1. Keyword terms on that one might be a little hard to find though. I enjoyed the vid. I was the demographic you were targeting and I learned what I wanted to learn from your vid. If more creators actually learned the basics of video SEO and Optimization they might make as much money as you do and get to do your passion for a living instead of having a keyboard covered in cheeto dust and bong resin in their Mom's basement. Yep exactly. You can add additional bunker/save some scans in case of dt and try to scout what your opponent is doing.

I have a question about the first unit you get from the barracks (6:00)... so I understand that you can get either a reaper or a marine but it looks like getting a reaper would delay your factory. I'm guessing since we see all the pros doing this that getting a reaper is still worth the slight delay on the factory?
Also, I noticed that you also said the viking was optional, and that you could instead get a liberator... If I were to get reaper, would it be a bad idea to go liberator after already using that much gas, or is the usage negligible?

Any of these options are possible. The reaper is a bit more common at high level but also takes a lot more multitasking and skill so I decided to make this build marine first instead.

how come we go tech lab into widow mine and not the other way? widow mine earlier helps with saftey and costs the same resources and time or am i missing something?
You could switch it up if you'd like, I think that's a good change. This still gets the widow mine in time to defend stargate openings and I thought this would make it easier for beginners to not mess up :)

Banshees w/ raven ought to take care of lurkers, make sure to support those units so they dont get taken out by AA units

What difficulty a.i was this? Servers been shot so I'm currently on very hard, and they are so aggressive in the begining the only way I've found to survive is to build a couple seige tanks almost immediately

you want to make some changes. I have a video terran vs muta :)
Why do you build the third command center at the end ( 21:04 )? You can't use 2 command centers to get resources from the same mineral and gas resources, because the workers go to the nearest command center by default.

How do you put the Barracks in that rotation. Mine don't seem to go in that rotation
What do you mean rotation?
@@HuShang I mean the Barracks. When I go place them they always place in horizontal but never vertically. I see videos of people placing them vertically
@@Popo-oy3by you can't change the barracks rotation, it just stays the same. It should look exactly like mine. Maybe you have different resolution and it just looks funny? Or maybe you accidentally shifted the view somehow.

in pvp there is a counter to this, the protos engineer comes in and builds a turret before you even finish the barracks, I couldn't do anything
It's fine, use your scv's to kill the cannons
Very good build order but some feedback, 20 minutes is very long build order could be laid out in description so it easier to access. Or at least over screen as it happening. A lot of pausing and going back and forth to try and organise the steps would not be necessary if available in description. Other than this very helpful

A mediocre toss can go dt at 4 min u should go safe in this build
They can't get DT that fast without lots of clues that you should pick up on. No expansion, only 1 pylon in main, etc...
What's the highest league this build is good for?
In TvP... Grandmaster. In the other matchups... maybe around platinum or so

This build order did not work when I fight against elite zerg I tried but it did not work.
You won't be very good at the build on your first try. Keep practicing :)
@@HuShang yeah no kidding i tried to win against an elite with this build order but I failed a lot of times and I always get pissed and depressed so I tried listening to depressing music's to calm me down.

This build is fine against DT's, just save a scan for 4:30 and make sure you have your natural wall finished by then.

i would say its a fail because you didn't scout the 4gate at crushing you at 4m when you had nothing but a reactor on you single rax

@@HuShang sorry man, maybe i didn't understand the point. Ok i would however recommend that new players just 3 rax, 4gate or roach rush as they will learn much more then messing around lifting terran production buildings :D thanks for the build. I'm also not sure about your rally points :D

Too slow and the vid takes too long to start. Drop the 2mins of bs in the start and drop the unstructured tangents and i will come back
