Man, it’s just becoming more evident that the less we eat as adults the healthier we will become.

    • @archockencanto1645

It's natural. 20000 years ago there's no way on earth you would get to eat at will. You would actually have to go hunt or gather food, nearly every day or every other day. It's natural to eat once a day or once every two days. And not only is it natural anything else is unnatural. In fact, it's heathier* to eat once in 4-5 days than eating 3 times a day. Try it.
*Healthier as in you will feel better. Not that your body will perform at its best, that is around 8-20 hours after eating from what I've found.
Also, ideally you'd have a decent body fat%, at least 20%. That's why fat's there, to get you through periods where you don't get to eat. Also, another condition would be that you'd have to be somewhat used to this. For the first 5-10 times, it's going to suck big time, especially if you've eaten 3+ meals/day your whole life.

I eat when I return home in the late afternoon/early evening. I normally open my eating window at 4 or 5. The key for me is making sure that when I do eat that it is balanced and nutrient dense otherwise the fasting will not work as well. Now that I am also started doing plant based since December I have realized what a differcence that quinoa has made for me.

Increase your Growth Hormone (main *anti-aging* hormone) by doing I.F.

Thank you, Dr Berg. I am now in my late 60's, but I have fasted for years on 1 meal on Fridays for spiritual and health reasons. It has helped me so much, increases energy, controls weight better, makes me feel better and has been a beneficial practice overall. You helped to put it into focus for me by advising to do it at least 20 hours and now giving a time frame of 4 hours for eating. The fasting has helped me in numerous ways inwardly and outwardly healthwise.

Many “health experts” on UA-cam are no longer promoting IF primarily bc of losing muscle mass. We store fat and carbohydrates that can be burned in IF but if protein is burned it comes from your muscle mass.. It is hard to get enough protein with such a short eating window (FDA recommended amounts are way low and should be doubled). As we age, you do not want to lose muscle mass.

People always say they went keto/carnivore and cut out all crap and feel great. So was it the meat or cut your all the crap. Plenty feel great on a vegan, healthy fat cut all crap diet too., it is believed that eating a little all day spikes insulin over and over and can lead to becoming insulin resistant which is one way and the body needs time to rest and repair in between eating. The other way we become insulin resistant is from any bottled oil. Stop all the oil. Our ancestors didn't go around drinking pure oil. Dr fuhrman discusses the alternative to keto/carnivore. Some eat for their blood type and others for their compassion. Keto didnt wirk long term for me. But cutting out all processed food was a side benefit. I eas still insulin resistant despite losing the weight. And fuhrman discusses the oil from a bottle is too pure, fatty live and organs. It clogs. Salt is already in our food and plenty of it. If you were to excercise intensely, tou would only increase growth hormone by 450%. But if you were to do intermittent fasting, you can increase hormone growth by 2000% It's not even about eating certain foods or whatever. It's besically intermittent fasting. So you want to at leat do 16 hours, but work up about 20 hours of fasting. And then you can eat in that four hour window.I like, like me, I'll eat at like, one o'clock and then maybe at five sometimes at four. And that gives me that... those four hours of 20, like call it your eating window and you ha have 20 hours of fasting. So that's the way to increase growth hormone!

Keto makes this pretty easy. Fats like oil, butter, creams and cheese can get you there pretty fast. I'm on one meal a day IF and an example of my dinner is usually 1lb of steak cooked in 1 tbsp of avocado oil, 2 to 3 servings of cheese, 3 eggs made with 1 tbsp of butter, 2 to 3 servings of sour cream, salsa, then I will drink a protein shake 2 scoops for dessert made with either almond milk or no sugar whole milk yogurt plus 2 tbsp of peanut/almond butter. It is tough to get down the first 2 weeks but after that it's pretty easy.

Yes God says to fast for a lot of his biblical appointments like day of atonement which is next week 15th sundown to sundown. I think theres a spiritual element to fasting as well as physical. You can be closer to the spirit away from the flesh and its desires I guess. Also it mentions in the Christian holy book to fast and pray to release strong stubborn demons called Jins in your faith. Its pretty powerful to fast...

Also people who give health advice: The most protein you can assimilate from a single meal is about 25 grams. The rest is excreted.
Also people who give health advice: You need to consume about 1 gram of protein per kg of bodyweight, per day. A little more if you are older, because you assimilate it less efficiently as you age.
Solution: Get your weight down to 25 kg, and it all works out!
