What about using it in underslung mode. Attach a Smallrig Weebill S handle and something like a monitor mount to get the angle up to the twin handle 🤔 Might work a bit better than having it inverted.
I am planning to use this camera upside down from a remote location. You mention it has limited motion, but how limited is it? I'd love to look down, up, left and right with it while inverted.
What mode is the gimbal in with it upside down? I’m having trouble mounting it and the only way to get it on there is POV and it’s really sketchy flipping it upside down when I do. How do you mount it so it sits like it is in your video?
Peter - I recently purchase the Smallrig Hand Held Ring - the 2068 model (which is for the Ronin Gimbal series), for my Zhiyun Weebill S, and a 'UTEBIT' Quick Release Plate PU-50 (from Amazon), and attached this to the base of the gimbal handle, which then connected directly to the quick release mount that comes with this gimbal and after testing it out - with the Weebill S in the normal upright position - it works a treat - so easy to use with zero up and down motion! The ring is very light, and will be just as good, if not better than using the dual grip gimbal handle. You should try using this ring - 2068 . . it was a breath of fresh air for me . . .
@@davidson.mp4 not as yet - I am currently recovering from a bad episode of sciatica, and I am flat on my back. However, I will put together a short video showing the handheld ring 2068, the plate and the simple feet, which I made myself - saving £85 . . . !
Perhaps it would be better to mount the Weebill S in a hand held ring, so that you can have it mounted the right way up! I am considering this, by purchasing the Smallrig 2068 model (which is designed to accommodate the DJI Ronin/Ronin M/Ronin MX), and converting it, using 'off the shelf' and making / 3D machining the parts myself. Smallrig do make this ring for the Crane 3S, which is the 2858 model, but I don't like the plain rounded corners, the 2068 has 1/4, 3/8, threaded holes, Nato Rail / ARRI hole, on all four corners - to mount the external accessories. I will have to check that the smaller sized 2068, will be large enough to take the Weebill S.
Great video Peter thank you for putting in the hard work and educating us all. Curious how the gimbal responds differently in 1.95 compared to other common firemwares like 1.96?
can you use the gimbal upright? and then where the handle is get a extension pole and mount the weebil s legs on it? wouldnt that solve most of the issue?
Bro i was confused between Crane 2 vs Weebill S and ended up buying weebill S but now learning that inverted setup is not possible in this gimbal makes me regret of not buying Crane.
It works perfect upright, then you can leave the tripod legs on by you still need the quick release plate because it is nearly impossible to tighten it so it will be straight with the gimbal.
Can u use the inverted mode in december 25st latest update? It will perfectly going upside down but the reaction time isn’t that quick in the way it supposed to be used..
I have ronin m for big movie stabilisation an run and gun weebill s. For me this set up I take the ronin m. I have 1 question, I have a big external monitor Lilliput a7s, and I want to know what is better place for monitor? I try on the handle single grip for me is good but I see for a good smallrig object to make strong grip for monitor. Or I see you use a smallrig for monitor at the left of weebill s. It's good? The weight of all is good when you use the weebill s?
What’s happening with the gimbal academy?? I’ve been waiting for it but it’s taking too long . I might have to buy a different course. I need to learn man!
great content as usual, thanks! ...On a sidenote, not enjoying the new music transitions, a little too abrasive and doesn’t help the flow of the video. keep up the fantastic work :)
a real shame about the practicality of this - I was kind of hoping that my Weebill S would be a bit more adaptable like the Crane 3. I've looked on ebay, amazon, etc. and there's hardly anything in the way of grips/handles for this gimbal. however I do like the quick-release idea. meanwhile I'm still trying to find a solution that will allow more versatile shooting with my gimbal, while exploring practical monitor placement and allowing the gimbal's freedom of movement. ps: can I suggest you invest in a more sturdy table? 😆 I see the camera wiggling around while you're explaining and gesticulating.

FINALLY AFTER AGES OF WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO. THANK YOU PETER! 😍
Smoke Studio I know. You are welcome mate.
I bought the single side handle from here to show you support. Enjoy your videos!!
Omg that Arri lol. Great video again.
Yesh it is heartbreaking to see. Thanks.
“Go out and shoot some dupe videos” 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌👌
Thank you for testing it out. 😊👍
Always mate.
Hello from Spain. Is it missing? Aren't there any doble grip?
Good looking out with the pros/cons for this setup!
do you have the link of the spacer?
your video has been quite useful thank you very much for me 😊
Can you use it on the other hole?
Thanks for making this video. I had hoped it would work better. Will you use it.
You are welcome. No it is not worken proberly and I have to run on firmware 1.95.
What about using it in underslung mode. Attach a Smallrig Weebill S handle and something like a monitor mount to get the angle up to the twin handle 🤔 Might work a bit better than having it inverted.
Yes that would work. The weebill S is nt designed for inverted mode.
Is there a Z axis accessory for this gimbal?
I am planning to use this camera upside down from a remote location. You mention it has limited motion, but how limited is it? I'd love to look down, up, left and right with it while inverted.
Cant believe this is the only dual handle solution for the weebill s 😀 I want to use a dual handle on the upper attachment point on the weebill s
Where did you get the spacer?
What mode is the gimbal in with it upside down? I’m having trouble mounting it and the only way to get it on there is POV and it’s really sketchy flipping it upside down when I do. How do you mount it so it sits like it is in your video?
Please provide me with the link to buy the adapter so that I can put it in the weebill s?
3:35 .... Happen with me in 2019 on my Trinity set-up ! 🙄
Hi
The links in the description to purchase the handle is not working and took me to a page that only offered the stand
Ok. I will check what is wrong

can this configuration be for the first generation we bell lab?
I haven't tested it but I can't see why not
@@PeterMakholm ok i was looking trying to rotate down but one axis stops working.
@@bcorehc yeah. The weebill lab and weebill S aren't made for inverted operation so that is why it is not working properly.
@@PeterMakholm I would like to know if there is a way for the weebill lab as you found for him, I still don't understand how you did it

Will this work ok in up right mode on the dual handle without the quick release but on top of the silver thread adaptor???
It works perfect upright, then you can leave the tripod legs on by you still need the quick release plate because it is nearly impossible to tighten it so it will be straight with the gimbal.
@@PeterMakholm ok, thanks for letting me know ☺️
Thank you so much for showing us this. I really wish it would be more friendly. How about the gimbal academy? Still expected for the end of the month?
Yes, It is a shame that it doesn't work better. But it was worth testing it. Gimbal academy will launch Thursday okt. 29.
Hey Peter! Question...Have you found a handle for the Crane2S that has the locking pins that the Crane has on the bottom?

how is webill s with canon r6 & 16x35
Aagman Photography good question mate. I would believe that the body might be to big for the weebill S. I would rather look at the crane 2S.
I'm wondering after this you are stuck shooting low angles...

LTS alright, thanks for the feedback. I was actually wondering if it did any good. I will re do it.
Peter Makholm i think the concept might work, just needs some finessing and chiller music selection.
