      @Xen Glaris For the best performance get the best CPUs with *SINGLE THREAD* performance (great also for strategy games overall as well) The frustrating thing about rimworld is that everything is running on only core and for what I understand, only on thread.
      Edit: Qucik google search it seems that rimworld is indeed multithreaded, maybe the slowdowns are caused by the sheer ammount of things the game has to calculate each frame
      Another quick edit: Actually Multithread does not makes your game run faster, but rather more responsive, EG: Game will slowdown, but you´ll atleast be able to clikc stuff in the UI because that´s on a different threadt, silly me!

      @felipeaugusto6991 3 роки тому +310

      houses of wood are very economical, roading is relatively more important since it speed up your pawns, wood will work fine until someones burn it down, also with brick roads amongs buildings teh fire won't spread unless you have an all in one base building, with that many pawns i dont think theres any kind of fire they couldnt quench before it spread significantly.

      It's a builder-video, for the show. With a vanilla storyteller you will have a hard time to get so many pawns. You would have raid after raid, sickness, and all imaginable bad things happening in your colony. I think at first OP has a pretty good machine to run the game, then some tools for performance. Also admin spawns help bit with lag. ;)
      Seems most treads are no existent, or lowered at max.
      So don't worry, most players experiment lag when they reach a highter number of colonists. Map size is also important, on bigger maps you will have a much harder time. Some mods are very performance heavy, don't forget many are players made, and not made by professional scripters.

    For real, i had an 8x8 farm and a room with 3 beds squished in it. It took me multiple in game days before i even realised i had to butcher things before being able to make food and i ended up with a storage full of rotten animal corpses lmao

    I wish the ultimate endgame of rimworld wasn't leaving the planet, but conquering it. It would be nice to make colonies right next to each other and have the gameplay experience change depending on how many you had. Like raids become wars and you have to send troops from a training colony to the frontlines of your industry colony etc.

I cannot wait for Smash Phil's Vehicles framework coming out in a month or few. One thing it's adding is a plow attachment to harvest huge farms at once.
