Quick disclosure - big thanks to Ludeon for the key - I didn't ask for it but they are really too kind (as well as being great at making games!) Sorry for being away so long - had to figure out some tricky real-life stuff, but new Rimworld is always an occasion for gaiety and merriment. More to follow - and if you're wondering, there's always the VOD channel where streams are posted by my channel link. Hope you enjoy!
for anyone playing this start, great tip is making roof's held up by one steel wall over lots of trees, fast wood before you build your first agrihand from the construction bot felling the tress to make the roof
So if I read you right you mean build a roof but leave one section of the roof open and unbuilt so that you can have your bot go in break down the pillar and because they're standing in the unbuilt section they remain undamaged
@@mastermenthe no, the constructor will go to create roofing over the trees, but to do that you need to cut the trees down, so it will do it despite not being an agrihand
You can also put fences over individual trees saving the time spent making roofing and since fences only cost 1 of a material they can be demolished for a 100% refund also good for getting some early construction xp for your mechanitor
For anyone even later coming by if you place a floor over the tree that you do not have the materials for (like a sandstone floor when you only have wood and steel) both the lifter and the constructer will chop down the trees.
would be ineresting to do a second playthough of this where the "human" slowly goes insane seeing the robotic army and decides hes not good enough as is and mechanizes himself as well
For people keeping tabs, Biotech finally let us cross the "chemical warfare" war crime from the Geneva convention list with the inclusion of tox weaponry and being able to pollute terrain.
I was skeptical about the price of this DLC, but the amount of features you showcase in it alone for JUST mechanist looks outstanding! It's probably worth that price point, honestly.
Hi I simp for this dlc hard. It's absolutely worth the 25, just for the mechanitor content. There's a pure sort of joy in watching tunneler mechs mine in a quarry in below freezing temperatures while your own colonists sleep next to a heater that everyone should experience once. In addition the 'boss' mechs really give you a sense of progression as you prepare to fight the next one That being said the genes are cool too, especially the archotech ones. I haven't even touched sanguophage yet which is an entire extra layer of content. But yes, please get it, it's very good.
@@SaltyRocksPew that really is a lot of extra content! Plus there's the whole pregnancy & kids, which feels long overdue for a "colony" game. Like yeah you can get new colonists, but lacking that natural growth has always felt off to me.
Those small moments when AA is able to react to and respond to his audience not only shows how much of a heart he had but the fact this channel is run by blood, sweat and tears. Something more and more rare as time goes on. Love your videos AA. :)
I'd like to kindly request more Rimworld gameplays AA... it was the reason I personally subbed and IMHO it's your best content. I used to love your long version challenge playthroughs...
Your Rimworld videos always make me want to return to the game. The videos are also extremely powerful ads, and by my next paycheck I will probably own the DLC. Rimworld really is one of the better games i've ever played that I never talk about.
By the time I had two of my six mechanitors geared up in mechlord suits and helmets, I was having to summon an apocriton every 3 - 5 days to maintain the stockpile of nanostructuring chips necessary to replace their gear as it degraded. Found that a crew of 12 mortars dropping high-explosive and EMP shells could immobilize any size force and allow the batteries of turrets and battle mechs to destroy them.
if your mechanitor sucks with plants, just place fence building orders over trees, and the constructor as well as the lifter will first chop the trees in order to build them, and if you forgot to remove the blueprint before it's built, deconstructing will get you back the 1 wood needed ;D
Solo Mech was my first Biotech start. Immediately got diseased and was raided by one dude while unable to walk (can't draft mechs while disabled). He pummeled all of my robots, set everything on fire, and left. The kicker? I had a fully gestated combat mech RIGHT THERE but I couldn't walk over to let it out >.>
Honestly, your rimworld content is what got me hooked on your content and made me fall in love with the game. I hate that iv gone threw your entire back catolog of rimworld content iv missed. So its nice to see you do more. I think most of us would love to see a bit more rimworld content. But im honestly just happy to watch you play it again.
Not many people mention it, but the shelf buff is awesome. I love having legit warehouses and meat lockers rather than a big room with a bunch of shit thrown on the floor. lol
My first biotech playthrough i've also took the solo mechanist start, and dumped plant and animal skills to take the Never Sleep Gene. I like the new gene mechanic but some choices are so obviously powerful that it is difficult to not take them.
"Yay, I make a living playing Rimworld." *Pure bliss* (You're like one of those dogs with a funny face who spend their lives in ectacy because literally everyone thinks they're cute, only it's your voice.)
I have watched each and every one of your Rimworld videos at least twice now. I’m so glad there’s a new one and I want you to know that I crave for more.
Never sleep is legit the best trait. One fun build I found is a bunch of never sleeping, psychite/smokeleaf/alcohol/go juice dependent High lifers with a bunch of other usefull traits.
Love watching your. Rimworld videos especially the shorter narrated ones that you put out. As well as the ones on your vod channel, cant wait to see more of the shenanigans
man, your narrative is brilliant but I have to say that quick sleeper is better than never sleep because you get the bonus of impressive bedroom, luxurian comfortable and made some love (when you have a mate) aaaand a bed always help with the diseases, also is cheaper in metabolism
The cuts and edits - most of which are unncessary - detract from the gameplay because we don't know if AA is cheating or not. This is less of a gameplay video and more of a curated narrative. There's really no point in watching for that reason. I'd recommend samuel streamer instead.
I wish your videos were longer! You don't need to edit them down so heavily, I'd gladly watch a series (like the ones you used to do, the ice sheet and the desert one)
If you want some longer format content, there's a different rimworld run going on on his vods channel (ua-cam.com/video/nHUMKGp3CKk/v-deo.html) that come from his twitch streams. This one's an offline run though.
Hey AA, love the video as always! Are you ever planning on doing any multi-episode content in the future again, like some of your older Project Zomboid or Rimworld series? I really do like these one-offs as well but those extra long stories from those series were awesome too :)
Yoo! My PC's power supply died just in time for this new DLC... really glad I can still experience it vicariously thru your vids and streams still, at least. Cheers boss! Hope you're well 🙏
the mechanitor would be really good for an ice shelf run. The robots woudn't freeze and wastepacks would never degrade. Once you get past the initial hurdle of warmth inside and food for the mechanaitor you could basically just have them live indoors and have the robots do everything.
Hey, AA, I just wanna saaay~ that I appreciate you coming back to Rimworld even though it may not stroke the algorithm as satisfyingly as your Sims content does. the cognitive way that you approach this game is downright inspiring, and I hope to see ever further heights of baby farmery in your future
After a failed start where I accidentally removed all the factions I ended up on a map that's like 90% polluted, I have no idea how to deal with it. I love it. Everything is just constantly dying and there's this one jewel in the middle where we live that isn't poisoned...but all our trash is mounting up.
I love this game so much. I think I'll give it a few months though before I sink another 300 hrs into this dlc alone. Giving it that much time so my favorite mods have time to update or someone else to make good replacement mods for the ones that are abandoned
I'll be honest with you, yuh lovable frog, as much as I love all your vids, I do miss your couple dozen episode long sagas of Rimworld and Project Zomboid. To be fair, I think I just kinda love your long form vids to begin with. I get a lot of mileage out of watching your VODs, since they help me fall asleep when I'm having some insomnia. I hope you do another long form challenge series on this channel though. Either way, may God bless you richly, mysterious frog man, for your videos are top shelf.
Don't remind me of the movie "Machinist" I watched that after having a sleep schedule that consisted of sleeping for 12 hours followed by 36 hours of being awake for a month and I watched it towards the end of a 36 hour period of being awake and I honestly couldn't tell where the movie ended and I began. Do not recommend (the sleep schedule, the movie was very well made and I recommend watching it)
Mechanitor except the World Temperature slider is all the way down, and you're in a Mountainous region. In the coldest area with -85C achievable in "winter" when you're already in permanent winter. Now that's fun
Finally I can be the Adeptus Mechanicus! From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel.
congratulations on reaching 1 ml amphibian if anyone deserves it its defiantly you iv often fallen asleep at night to your story's and poetic voice looking forward to haring more oratorical masterpieces from the one and only
I love how no matter what build, no matter what colony idea, no matter what ideology, it inevitably turns into a psychoid manufacturing operation.
Because drugs are good
This DLC looks so dope! I can't wait to have my own Machinist run!
You should definitely do it ;)
