But my 2015 Civic is telling me one or more of the required apps are not installed. I have the “HondaLink App Launcher” and the “HondaLink” because that’s all the Apple Store shows besides Ev, aha and navigation. Do I have to get the navigation in order for it to work?
I bought cables. Tried to find the app. It appears Honda has left owners of these vehicles stranded. I called to see about map updates. Honda told me to call Garmin. Garmin told me to call Honda. Honda seems to have sold this car and then abandoned anyone foolish enough to purchase a Honda.
Really, that's all? Nothing about the cabling that's required (standard lightning to HDMI/USB cable, plus HDMI cable, plus USB to Lightning cable). What the various apps do, etc.

i have a honda crv 2015 and they never told me i needed a plug like that? they said i just needed a Hdmi and i now have got that and it wont work at all.
Did you figure it out? I have the same problem. Dealership said all one needed was a HDMI cable the adapter to plug the HDMI to the Apple phone and the app.
No.. Honda CRV does not have GPS.. I was told but honda link Honda link is good for iphone and does not work for Windows & Android..Honda CRV suck just has recall on their software update now mu CRV run on lower RPM & less power.. look like Honda had some software like VW to cheat the consumer..
Just bought a cable online, hoping it hooks up okay. Stopped into local Honda dealer where we got the car. He said he'd never heard of the cable. That wasn't good. Got a feeling this isn't going to be as easy as the video.
@@Agarico Nope, never got it to work. I don't even use the phone in this vehicle. My wife's Subaru Outback always works fine. I get warnings like, this feature doesn't work when you're driving. When are you NOT driving? The CRV is a piece of junk so far as dashboard features!
About the cable, you wrote "the proprietary cable" in your description, can you please also provide the info. of the cable?
