Every sound engineer I've met in my gigs, this last summer, fell in love with it. Incredibly growly, deep and defined low notes. Light and handy like a guitar. Gustav is a great guy. Proud to be the owner of this incredible beast
@@lignumchannel Thank you for the channel, I can only dream of doing what you do. However, if you ever wish to inlay a bit of tigereye or labradorite or turquoise, I'd cut and polish it for you. I also cast small silver and gold pieces.
Geez! That thunder! Amazing work, I love purpleheart, Such an incredible wood to work with! Beautiful pieces of work my friend! Some pieces of olive wood are still here waiting for you whenever it works to ship it!
Think about? To dream, to hold, to feel and play?! There's only envy, desire and a bundle of emotions in the way, so my brain isn't capable of thinking in that state of wanting desire. You're the best tease on UA-cam and I love it!
I personally would prefer a spector with aguilars over this, a stingray or a dingwall perhaps, but this isn't bad at all. And it looks real unique, I think what makes this bass really great is that it's really yours. That's an important thing in my opinion that a lot of people overlook.
what is the name/type of the bridges you used? i have a build in mind and these tuners look really interesting! Incredible build, definitely getting a sub here. Good stuff!!!!!
I love that black finish on the guitar. What kind of paint did you use to get that look? And did you seal it with anything afterwards? Please let me know thanks!
Long time no see! Love your videos. Would be great to see more of them if possible! How is the house going, did you move in already? If yes, congratulations!
Nobody happier than me if i had time for more videos.. Hopefully that will come too.. Yes we moved in two months ago.. Hose is not 100% furnished yet but we are getting there. Tomorrow I start assembling the kitchen cabinets.. Now we have a more like camping situation with small camping stove XD
the wood is glued to the magnets. We first tested to see if wood would have bad effects on the sound and after we were sure everithing is ok, we glued it. If the wood was not glued, there would be danger it could crack or split because the top is only 1.5mm thick.
The Purple Heart colour fades after a few years though I think? I'm only starting out as a Luthier and I love the idea of using it in a build but I would be heartbroken if the colour dulled in time.
Not sure about the black and purple on the front; i preferred it on the back where the neck is visible. But that's just my taste. Having owned a headless through neck back in the day (albeit with double ball ends, rather than clamps) the tone made me smile! It has that solidity and resonance like nothing else. You can beat on those things all day and all night, and they always come back for more. I can well understand why somebody would commission a custom made of such glorious woods.

A work of art
It's GORGEOUS! And the colours I wear...

That’s sounds great, deep notes especially!
Glad you like it!
That construction seems sooo solid! Sounds great.
Yes it is. Especially those carbon fiber rods added to it. Thank you, I'm glad you like it!

As a bass player and trying to become a prefessional, this sounds awesome. I'd love to have a bass made by you. Geat job as always!!!
Thank you very much! 😃
Dan Mangiola on bass sounds like Heaven , great axe! ❤ Well done
Thanks Bro

Wow! Stunning!
Thank you! 😊
Cool! I always enjoy your guitar builds.
Thank you!:)

That is a stunning work of art.
I think I am in love.
:D Thank you very much!
Reminds me of the Ibanez Affirma bass, but with a sleeker design.
Simply beautiful ❤
Thank you very much!
Nicely done, sir.
Great Job!

I play guitar. I don't play bass. But seeing this masterpiece of a bassguitar I would change 😀 May I ask the price on this???????
Interesting wood cover design! So you utilized the existing holes in the plastic covers? You drilled counterbores in the wood covers to mount them?

It will indeed. I've shied away from using it for that very reason.
What kind of pick-ups/electronics did you use? Which is the price for this custom creation if I want one? Tnx.
Awesome bass! I still prefer my greeny though :D
Oh look, the old Tom and Jerry music!
This is Strauss, not Tom & Jerry...😬
. Blue Danube was used in the episode of Tom & Jerry titled, Johann Mouse.

I Would zlove To Have One Of These 😢😊😂😮
WOW!
I'm glad you like it!:)

I still think that 6 strings basses are creating a bit of confusion in the guitar world. But it looks good to me. Namastè.
I cqnt wait to build my own instruments so that i can be like Lignum
:) You just have to start.
Ne znam svirati, nemam nikakav interes za gitarama...ali ovi tvoji videozapisi me tolikooo opuste da ti ne mogu opisati..
Prvo lajk pa gledam.
😁Hvala Njofra!
I don't even play bass, but if I did and had heaps of disposable income, I'd definitely buy one of your instruments.
:) Thank you very much! Then you will definitely start playing!

hey what happened to the church tower video?
I I will bring it bask soon hopefully.. Long story but I'm working on it..
Sounds awesome! But oak and purple heart must weigh like a car? 😅
@@erikpeterson778 Maybe because of the Little body or/and for the lack of the headstock but it's really light. 4,1 kg less or more
@@danielemangiola9064 Yeah I didn't think of that. Maybe it's thinner too 🤔
Not super crazy about that bottom horn, but still a lovely bass overall.
Thank you!:)
It's almost-but-not-quite Prince-ish :)
@@Psychlist1972 😂 almost. Needs a curly cue in there.
I think you have a typo in your thumbnail: Should be "Purple Heart" not "Purple Hearth". Same in the subtitles.
You are right! I'm on it! Thank you:)
Beautiful guitar but probably heavy as hell
Not at all, 4kg less or more
It's a cool shape, and it's clearly well made, but the crotch of the lower horn is far too narrow to allow access to the upper frets.
yes, but it's thrue that it has 26 frets...
@@danielemangiola9064 Sure. I get that those frets will likely go unused, but the designer in me just can't haha
I think these are amazing. Stop giving them to the top UA-cams . These highly paid UA-camrs already have money.. pass this along
That's a scary glue up.
:) I've seen some even more terrifying!
Masterpiece, donate it to me. 🙂🙏🎵🎶
House ....?
We moved in.. :) a lot of stuff filmed and coming soon with a little delay I'm afraid..
The purple won`t stay, it will get much browner over the years.
I hope it will stay as long as possible under the varnish. But I think even brown wont be too bad.. :)
its cool but could always be better. How about a bass guitar made of transparent resin with haribo gummy bears inside?
You Sir just came up with a 10M views video :D
Does purple heart wood really smell like farts when cut? 😁😁
Did not notice:) Worst smell in the workshop is when grinding a cow bone nut.. Foul
I hate it. I want 2.
:D
