  • This is Pedal Jams, where we feature four guitar effects pedals that are new (to us anyway).
Our agenda is purely to plug them in, see what cool sounds and features we find, and combine them in whatever way inspires… and have a little jam at the end. That’s it!
Yes, I explained the Revival Drive Compact's switch slightly wrong - Mick here. Right functions, wrong positions - time for an eye test. actually have one booked on Thursday!
If you like this backing track, you can buy it at That Pedal Show Store… www.thatpedalshowstore.com/co...

I’ve never double commented before but fml that DD200 is incredible. In fact it’s almost the perfect four pedal board for the sounds you got in no time at all. Boss really got it right with this pedal.

Super fun show guys, great pedal choices.... that Gemini was amazing, especially with the Bubbler... what a cool sound. Love the solo jams, give you both a chance to play with the whole board. Great playing today Mick! You definitely seemed inspired.

Dang, I thought I didn't need another delay.
Both of you just nailed your jams today. I especially enjoyed Dan's funk rhythms. I like it it when you riff off each other as well, so keep mixing it up!

The Revival Drive Compact is amazing! I've seen a few demos of it now, and it was SO smart of them to shrink it down. I think everyone knew that the original was brilliant, but very daunting to almost everyone. This compact version is next on my list!

Just sat down to watch the 'sode. However, I did want to thank you for all the efforts you have made over the years, Mick and Dan. While finishing my pedal board last night, I had a question on running a graphic EQ before or after my fuzz and I recalled an old episode and sure enough, you two gave the topic your thorough attention. I was also highly entertained by seeing how far the show has come! One of these days, you may get it right.

Some really tasty playing there, guys. I can see merit in both versions; solo and together. You work well together, trading licks and so on but it's good to see one sitting back and digging the other's playing. Mick's face when Dan was getting into the Gemini was a picture.

Awesome tones!! Also, I really liked that you were able to use all the pedals at once for parts of the jamming. I don't know how intentional that was, but the idea of creating a new usable board-combination for each of these vids is great!

Pretty epic solo jams at the end fellas! I was diggin' that Bubbler with the fuzz too. Really wide but not seasick detune. The 2 of you though have caused me major work and cash because after seeing the way wet/dry rigs really opens things up I have gone to a wet/stereo dry/wet rig.. Lotsa laughs wiring that baby up. I had to come up with a way to make a `3 channel snake to wire it. Ah but really .I guess it was really s labour of love inspired by yes, That Pedal Show.

Woooh Nelly! Dan chopping heads at the end jam!!!! Killed it! I'm also on the fence with the double Vs. single jam debate. I love seeing you guys trade off and the interesting ways you alternate from strutting your stuff to falling back into supporting the rhythm track but, you guys just gave a great display individually on this one that wouldn't have come off in the double jam. I say flip a coin before each jam and let 'er rip!

  • @williamsmothers8830

That Boss pedal is really nice!! The looper function seems really good, too. The Gemini Fuzz reminds me of the Keeley Fuzz Bender - two sided, some frequency tuning functions, blending between Si and Ge. I need to look into these pedals. I really liked that Hive pedal from last week as well - I need a new fuzz. I like and am learning about fuzz, but am not really happy with this Wicker Big Muff Pi.

I've had the Bubbler for about a month and it is by far my favorite chorus pedal. Very Strymon type build. It has ramping when it changes flavors, so you get that Leslie majic happening. Kicked Lex off my board

Great stuff, guys. I think I liked the solo jamage, but only because the last time there was as much twiddling as playing, it seemed. Cool that each of you could use all the pedals, too.

    Hey guys,
Nice pedals and playing on this episode! Really liked the Revival Drive and the new Boss Delay.
To be able to focus on the sounds of the pedals (in the mix) I would say Single jams with the backing track or Double jams without backing track.
Still hope the "old" VCQ format will be back.
    Cheers!

Great episode! Loved the backing tracks (well done you, Fraser!), loved the solo playing, would probably love duo "jammage" just as much. I was really waiting for your impressions of the Revival Drive CD. Not that I need another drive pedal, as I've already about five more on my list I want to test drive, but the Revival CD is, I think, a winner. Love the DD-200, though I think the DD-500 is better for me. The new Fender pedals are very impressive. Not sure about the fuzz, but I'm not big on fuzz in my sound.

If you guys liked the Gemini IV then snag a Voyager Trem. It's a top 5 pedal I have ever played and I sold mine in a moment of intense GAS and have regretted it since. Havent' been able to get another one for over a year now. The Titan II is also just incredible, cleans up well and is dead simple to dial in. Spaceman gets hype but the stuff delivers errrrtime.
