@@DreIsGoneFission Indeed. I have my fingers crossed for the Stoltman brothers, since Pete will be in Inverness and their training should be tapering for Britain's Strongest Man.
PETE! I was literally training as a strongman when the pandemic came and shut down many of the places where I trained. I started climbing with my brother who is NOT a strongman to help my grip, and now that gyms are open, I train in both sports! The other day I went from lead climbing 5.10+ to doing 285# atlas stones. I have long thought that there should be more overlap in the communities. This is awesome!!!

On another note: TIt doesn't seem that there are any crack-like strongman challenges... you should introduce dan to your crack toebreaker (the scientific thing you made for another video I can't find atm... where you measured how much you can hold with the different jams...).
This brings me back to magnus and juju doing these different grip strength stuff
You need to design a jam hold to put on the weight bar. See who can lift the most while hand jamming.
They had a video a while ago where they hooked a jam up to a car to drag it around
They did this! They tried different jams to see which they could pull more weight through.
Pete always gives it 100% gotta respect that

8:16 Well ... for that "roof full of posts" you should turn to NINJA WARRIOR stuff. Maybe a visit to California and Magnus' buddy Anton? They do have all kinds of grip obstacles ... but it also gets combined with movement.

Pete brilliant collaboration. It would be wonderful if you could arrange for Magnus to meet up with the Stoltman Clan. His vids with Juji some of the best. It would also be great to see Dan climbing.

would have been good to show a photo of the guys who hold the records. I know in Japan they do the grip training with clay urns filled with sand and get up to ridiculous weights.

Pete, this was awesome! I think there’s legit crossover between grip training and climbing (I mean DUH!).
I met a steel worker in China, about Dawes size ,but 40% stronger. I kid you not. He would walk these grip challenges.
"It makes you angry" ... kinda reminds me of "Asterix the Legionnaire" ... where they give this as the reason why the roman legions got really bad food ...

My local gym has just got Wide Boyz crack volumes, went for an easy session today and could see them being set 😁 Never done any crack climbing before so will need to swot up with Pete's book 👍

Pinches make me feel so inadequate. I can do a front lever on shallow monos, and 1-arm pull ups by the bucketload, but I can't pick up a 10lb pinch block =(

Easy way to get even more angry than from smelling salts is to drop the plate on your foot.
Adam ondra and Alex megos would destroy these tests.
I genuinely believe they could just walk and beat all of these records first try.

I think if he went in at the higher weights he could do it. Building up like that will build up lactic acid and make ot harder.
The plate grip doesn't even seem to be that he can't grip it he definitely can I think he's just struggling with throwing it up

I can squeeze 70 kg on a dynanometer, but I'm 100kg, so it doesn't get up hard climbs!
