  • In this video, I'll show you how to properly wire and install a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlet. GFCI receptacles are important to have in a space that comes in contact with a water source or water usage. For this reason they are found in bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, and especially outside by pools or water sources.
Although it's recommended that a licensed electrician install these receptacles, this video is a good source for the homeowner's basic understanding of receptacle wiring. In this video, I'll show you how to install an outdoor GFCI outlet.
If you have any questions, comment below and I'll get back to you!
    Thanks for watching!

I kept waiting for you to install the cover, that's why I came here and you never did.

I hate those covers, lol. The way I install them may be different how others do but I found it easier to install the receptacle plug in the existing box first.... and then I remove one screw off the receptacle and I install it through the clear cover. I don't drive the screw all the way in yet. Then I turn the clear cover sideways and I remove the other screw off the receptacle and make it go through the clear cover also. At this point I tight box screws all the way in. I always used an electric drill without bottoming them out and then I used a screw driver to hand tight them.

David I just watched your other video on 240v 3 phase electrical boxes. I was just wondering if you could tell me if someone could intentionally use this type of electricity to maliciously electrocute someone ina building? I know its an odd question, but my landlord is a psychopath and a murderer. About 4 months ago she had a 3 phase 240/480 volt 2000 amp 65000 amp circuit fault electrical vehicle meter installed in the building and powered by the dept of water and power. She didn't get permits from the city for anything else and may have had her sketchy electrician do the install of whatever meter itself because it says some weird stuff on the work order about skipping necessary checks but that the device is operational. She doesn't have any plans to install any EV chargers and the location where she had the meter put in isn't even near where car could possibly park. On top of this 4 floors up in a highrise building people are getting electrocuted which has happened to me too. It's very strong but it's all over your body and not coming from one place like your hand like it would if you accidentally touched a wire or something. Do you have any advice on this or what she could possibly be doing? Is she just running a wire up there and letting the current pass through whatever is there on its way to the ground? The police wont help because this is in LA and they think it's bs and don't care to check it out. She's literally a human trafficker and no one will look into it because it's all impossible. What then is she doing with this EV meter and 2000 amps that was isntalled right when people started getting electrocuted? I've been told it'd be impossible to electrocute someone in a building using regular 120v ac if they weren't holding onto a wire. It's a really serious issue. Thanks.

I'm surprised you were pressing the test and reset buttons WITHOUT the cover on the outlet. So easy to slip and touch the hot post on the uncovered outlet -- with potentially dire consequences.
