So you can use the wire racks on the Microwave + Grill function but not on the Microwave function? I wish the manual provided was more detailed.

So I followed this to steam dimsums and my oven stopped working while cooking. When I used the microwave function it's running but not heating the food.

The big model on the right is the MC35J8088LT/TC, which I own. A very superior unit. It can completely replace a regular oven!

He put that stainless cover in the microwave? What cooking mode was used, convection only? Not much of a demo without giving all the details.

I have the mc12j8035ct model. On page page 12 column 2 it shows one cleans the upper roof of the oven by pulling down the top heating element 45-degrees. But my heating elements don't bend down like this, they insert into the back of the oven. Does anyone know how to do this 45-degree cleaning function or whether my mc12j8035ct is outdated. A You Tube video hyperlink on doing this cleaning function would be helpful.

The top bar doesn't come down. I now use my steam cleaner to deep clean the roof of the microwave. I also do the daily bowl of 2-part vinegar and 1-part lemon in 1-cup of water (steam for 6-minutes).

As far as I can tell, he said use the Microwave function WITH the stainless steel lid and metal steamer plate. Seems a bit crazy in a microwave oven. The manual even says use the microwave function. This is the first video I have ever seen using the Pro Steamer accessory. I have contacted Samsung PH many times about the proper usage of the Pro Steamer and they are worthless! Seems here, you CAN use the Pro Steamer with the microwave function. Just remember, it will be HOT, so be careful when removing after cooking!

Follow up...YES, use the Microwave function. It works fine. Just note that the dome lid does get hot. The microwave function boils the water to steam and the dome keeps it locked in. I placed dumpings and dim sum in it and they came out great at about 15-20 minutes

I think a plastic lid would be better... the waves are redirected from the lid until they reach the water from the gap under it. I'll find something to support the food and try it. I have an older model without steam function. Overall I fond this oven not of much use, good it's big. It takes more time to boil a cup of water than a much simpler old model!

@@GianniBarberi I now use this ALL the time for Dim Sum. Works great at 20 minutes.

They probably put that nerd cook in a kitchen with unlimited ingredients to let him play with it before they even marketed the thing. It definitely takes some getting used to.
