Camping Kingman Wash | SOLO in the Go Fast Camper V2
Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 лют 2025
- This weekend I hit the road by myself to check out Kingman Wash on the Arizona side of Lake Mead! About 45 minutes away from Las Vegas/Henderson Nevada. It was a quick overnight trip to relax prior to the busy Holiday weekend. I test out some new gear, change it up in the Go Fast Camper setup (@GFC ), and show you guys how I make a fire. We end the night off with some ravioli and tiny marshmallows over the Flickr Alcohol burning fire pit!
Camp Coordinates: 36.034492, -114.710967
The road to Kingman Wash was a mellow and easy going dirt road. Easy to navigate with only a few bumps here and there but otherwise very well maintained. There were pit toilets at the entrance of the wash but otherwise no other facilitates (no trash cans, etc.) - Pack it in and pack it out!

i'm at Kingman Wash now- normally would be snowboarding but sometimes the universe has other plans for us!? Great Spot - I spent some time near the water - hung out with the wild donkeys and coyotes but i prefer the roads off the main road where you can be very alone!
Awesome! I love it out there! I've seen those trails off the main road but have only explored one that starts by the pit toilet where it opens up to the water there. Definitely a lot more secluded! Thanks for watching Rata!
@@Kadenventures Yeah, I saw that road by the toilet, have not gone there yet! I have been exploring the spines of the ridges! Really great spot! I bet it is very busy in the summer!
@@rata4428 nice! I’m hoping to do more exploring around those side trails eventually 🤙🏽
Yes you can fish their with our Nevada license. Also works at Willow Beach if you ever camp out there! Kingman Wash is always a good spot 👍🏼
Ok cool! i thought so but wanted to verify. I'll have to head back and try my luck out there. i have yet to go to Willow Beach but its definitely on my list, do you have better luck there or Kingman these days?
Yes, you are good to fish on the AZ side with your NV license. In fact you are permitted to fish any waterway that is shared by NV and another state. Great vids. Been watching most of them. I try to get out to Lake Mead every week to fish and camp. Usually one or two nights. It's so beautiful, just a shame that people trash it up so much. I generally haul a few buckets of broken glass and trash every trip out. So unnecessary considering how many trash cans there are throughout the park. People just don't care. Anyway, thanks for sharing your excursions!
Thanks Randy! Good to know. Love the convenience of Lake Mead, close to town and easy access to camp and fish! And Same, this area was surprisingly not that trashed this night but I went back a few weeks later and the same spot I was camped at was trashed sadly so I ended up picking most of it up
Cool video you have Convinced me this is the best camper for my 2018 Toyota Tacoma so I bought one
Headed to BELGREAD MT next month to pick up my GFC Camper
Can’t wait
Congrats Tommy That is AWESOME! Stoked for you, the GFC has definitely been a game changer and I've been loving it. And you getting it next month?? Didnt even have to wait long for it luckily you got a Taco lol
@@Kadenventures
I only had to wait two and a half months
The first time I seen you going to get yours I ordered mine
I was going to go with the Pacifica but changed my mine 👍🏻
I also have a Little Guy Mini Max Trailer
The GFC is going to be a great add on to my camping experience in Arizona
Keep sending out video’s
Just found your channel. Great videos. I subscribed while I was here
Hey Larry! Glad you found the channel and enjoy the content 🤙 Appreciate the sub and thanks for watching!
Bro been looking for some people in Vegas to go out with. I got kayaks, fishing, overland rig. Love the videos
Whats up Kyle! Glad you found the channel! If you have FB check out Vegas Overlanding! There's always Events going on there. I'm always out and about so message me on IG! Cheers bro
Should have fished there man! Great fishing out there. So sad to see how low the water has gotten there.
Yeah this. I would have liked to see some catch and cook.
It's definitely on my list I will be back!
@@rvlifediy A Catch and cook is my next video on the list ;)
@@Kadenventures Awesome. Looking forward to it.
I ended getting dust inside my previous truck by installing BedRug throughout the bed. The panel that covers the tailgate also completely covers the gap between tailgate and bed, where most of the dust gets in. It was around $400 years ago, spendy but I never had a dust problem after that. I will be putting it in my 2020 Frontier once I settle on what camper or RTT to get. Keep the videos coming - you are the Frontier authority here on YT!
Hey Michael! Thank you! Appreciate that. Thanks for the info about the BedRug! I actually bought a bedrug the other day but its just the Rug and not the full wrap within the truck bed. Good to know the full wrap helps with dust! I may need to look into that for the future. What Camper or RTT are you considering?
The opening views were amazing! Happy New Year, Kaden. Thanks for the great entertainment and for teaching me things that I can pass on to my camping friends. Great fire tutorial! Cool outside night shot of your set up. Thanks again!
Happy New Year Suz! Glad you enjoy the content, thanks so much for watching, really appreciate it! Hope you have an awesome start to the new year!
Got my v2 last august. Kudos on your storage solution and mini fire!
Awesome! I got mine back in October its been such an awesome upgrade. Have you done any upgrades on your GFC?
Your Nevada license should cover you on the AZ side of Mead and Mojave. Back in the day, you had to ask for an AZ stamp but I think it's automatic now. Never hurts to ask when you buy it though.
Yes! Someone told me its automatic now and the NV license will also work at Willow beach as well
Good spot for camping ⛺️ it definitely gets really cold there at night if you don’t have proper heat. One of my favorite spots to also fish for striper, carp & catfish! Never been skunked there while fishing. Great video and you definitely gotta go fishing out there at night. 🤙🏼
It won't be my last night camping out there! I liked the area the a lot, i'm definitely going to fish next time! I've never really fished at night since moving down to the Vegas area so i'll have to give it a shot next time. Glad you enjoyed the video, Thanks for watching!
Love this area. Done most of my over night trips there.
I liked it a lot! Especially with the lack of people there this time of year lol
Looks awesome!
Thanks for watching Aaron!
Man this is pretty cool, I recently purchase 2019 Frontier and watching your video its really help me out for a potential upgrade of the truck. Im from Calgary so weather wise its a bit different in here thanks for sharing Kaden new friends here from Calgary Canada.
Congrats on the Frontier! Glad the content has been helpful to future upgrades! Always happy to hear from other Frontier owners out there. Definitely factor in your weather differences in Canada lol do u camp at all up there in winter or just summer?
@@Kadenventures I camp a lot in the summer, never try in winter though but that’s gonna be plan in the future I’m a Filipino so I’m a bit scared camping in -40 lol 😂. But trying something new is always good thing I’ve watched of your content and I envy you guys, I’m an outdoor guy so thanks for taking us to your adventure!
@@btjunior lol! Don't be scared man i'm filipino too but I was born and raised in Alaska (similar winters to Canada) its just something you prep for when winter camping (good jacket, 0 degree sleeping bag, etc). One of the reasons why we moved moved to Nevada was bec of the good weather all year round! Glad you enjoy the journey, appreciate it!
@@Kadenventures Oh really, awesome! Can’t wait to see you cooking Filipino food 😃. Thanks for the advice bro appreciate it. Yeah Nevada has a great weather year round glad you moved.
@@btjunior oh man! the wife and I actually made some Adobo yesterday for the first time from scratch and it turned out pretty good, I've been thinking of doing more filipino camp cooking so if you have any suggestions of what to cook let me know ! 🤙
That's life 🤙🏻
Good times! 👌
Did a picnic out there summertime and there wasnt even space on the shoreline. When i went one winter trip it was windy and cold cold. How was the bug situation? I kinda want to try a hot tent set up. Cant afford a GFC hahaha. Great vid as always!
Hot tent out there would work perfect! I was walking around up on the hill and there were a few flat spots that would be perfect for a tent.
The bugs werent too bad, they came out right when the sun started going down but when it got dark they were gone, probably got too cold for them and i think the fire helped lol Thanks for watching Skoty!
Love your videos bro! Doing an awesome job. How about coming up north? Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
Thanks! Appreciate it. And YES! I'm down. We go to Alaska every summer to fish and camp so I was thinking of driving up this time around but we'll see, we have a few longer trips scheduled for the summer so flying may be best to save time. Canada is definitely on my list tho! We drive down through Canada when we moved but couldn't really see much unfortunately
@@Kadenventures check Banff, Alberta. You'll love it.
@@suhailhabibzadah8634 Definitely on our list!
Well if you really want to go in the southwest for the winter, try San antonio Tx...
We were in Austin a few months ago and had a blast out there! We we’re going to drive to San Antonio but ran out of time but definitely will be back to visit and explore more out there.
I’ve heard mixed things about camping in Texas and the lack of dispersed/public camping options tho
I am so jealous.
:) Thanks for watching!
Good video. I like your setup. If you're ever up near Reno I have an awesome camping destination at a very cool old ghost town but don't really want to reveal it here in the comments. Anyway, have you looked in to the Bedrug bedliners? I think you'll like it....makes the bed of your truck much cozier and also gets rid of the grooves. You can see it in a few of my videos. They are not expensive and also you don't have to get the full kit you can just get piece that covers the floor. Your knees will thank you trust me.
I was actually just talking to my wife about road tripping up to Reno early in the summer! I'll have to hit u up about that Ghost town then ;) And Yea! I legit JUST put in my order for a bedrug today for the frontier! The other one I had on order for some reason the company messed my order up and ended up just refunding me so I was looking for another one. Glad to hear they are worth it, they werent too pricey either like $100 vs the $400 i was about to spend on a full rug that goes over the bottom and sides of the truck bed. I'll check your video out! Thanks!
Where did you get those nice red and black flannel covers for your GFC mattress sections?
Hi Jeff, I got those sheets directly from GFC for about $90. I was going to post a link here for you but when I went to GFC's website sadly they no longer have them on the site, they may have discontinued them which is a shame but hopefully they re-stock soon
Can a 2wd truck make it in and out of there with summer tires or does it need more aggresive tread?
Yea it should be no problem!
👍
Thanks for watching!
You now have had quite a few nights in the GFC. Still feeling good about it? Still feel like it's worth the price point? Cheers.
Hey Nathan! We love the upgrade for sure in compared to a roof top tent, setup/take down is so much faster, having an area inside where we can hang out and being able to lock/store gear in the truck bed. I think its well worth the money, especially if you look at buying a nice wedge tent on its own (~3-4k) and buying a truck bed cap (w/ wide window openings = ~3k) plus the added ability of a truck bed space where you can STAND has been awesome so the cost of the GFC made sense for us
Hey 👋 have you done burro wash?
Hey Chef! I have not done Burro Wash yet, never heard of it actually so I had to look it up. Pretty close to home
How long does the buddy heartier last on a tank of propane?
Hey Dan! On those 1lb (green bottle) propane cans I think it'll last about 5-6 hours on low. At least thats what i've seen when using them ice fishing in AK. I didnt use it during this trip. My buddy heater is the single burner/smaller one. Thanks for watching!
@@Kadenventures thanks . Been wanting to get one. One day we’re gonna have to go camping together. Waiting on getting a topper. Had a trailer but we sold it. All we have is a tent lol
What helped you decide to have windows installed in your camper?
I just wanted to be able to see out of the back of the truck lol with my old setup with the Roof top tent and low profile cross bars I was never able to use my rear view mirror but now with the GFC and the rear windows I like it a lot more. Theres some cons to it though, i've seen other GFC setups where they use that back window toward the cab for storage pouches
@@Kadenventures Yeah, I want windows but then I want the storage pouches also. Pros and Cons!
Agreed! I may end up putting storage pouches back there eventually lol well see what happens as this setup evolves
Ever camped in the GFC in desert hot night??
I think the hottest I’ve camped in the GFC was about 90s during the day and it was prob 80s at night which was tough I’m not a fan of sleeping in the heat but I opened all the windows on the GFC and had a fan going which helped
How's the weather?
Not too bad about 50s with a low of 30s
Like how you used the string lights and mounted the remote! Check out our first recipe video inspired by your last video! 😉
Yes Thanks! I've been trying to figure out a good way to mount lights since this setup isnt as easy as the Roof top Tent to through string lights over it. I'll check it out!! Thanks :D
Great area to camp! What camera do you use?
Definitely! I had a blast out there. I use a combination of Go Pros (7 Black and 8) , iPhone Pro Max and a Canon M50 when i'm not being lazy haha
If you running 2 wheel drive, stay away from the water line area. Saw a 2x4 truck get stuck in the sand 😂 and a Jeep winches him out
lol! Damn that sucks. My truck is 4x4 :) and i'm always cautious when getting close to water (bec you never know lol) Thanks for watching!
Come again, see our review, friends.
Thanks for watching!
Bro I lived in Vegas let's go camping... I have a Rang Rover Sport and a Sole Horizon Rover trailer
Nice! I had to look up the Sole Horizon Rover trailer, it looks like a Airstream base camp. Where'd you move from Vegas??
