Nice diagnosis! Water leaks suck. Had an Arcadia today with a multitude of problems due to a leaking sunroof. Owner said he has had the water leak since he bought the truck ten years ago and no one fixed it correctly. Unfortunately for him, the damage is done in that thing and it's time to get rid of it.
there is a leak the water is leaking into the veh from somewhere my guess is the windshield or the driver's side door window this needs to be addressed first because just replacing the relay is a temporary fix until the water gets into the new relay and shorts that out Hyundais are known for the windshields leaking it is a common problem relocating the relay does not stop the leak it will just leak into another relay or some other electrical component causing another issue
Hi I have a 2001 hyundai accent it has been giving me problems with starting after I drive it. It will not shut off or bog down when I have it on but after tuning it off it will not restart sometimes and others it will start right up, I have replaced the krank sensor 3 times and same problems persist. I get spark it seams as though the fuel pump gets disrupted. I have tried manually running the fuel pump while turning over the car but still no luck starting. I think I have a problem with the injectors not being grounded out properly any advice on what I should do?
@Jimthecarguy Hey I just watched, great video. I just replaced the fuel pump in a 04 accent. We turned the ignition 3 different times and it primed each time. Now when we turn the ignition it won't prime anymore. We took the assembly back out and tested the motor and it still works. Any ideas on what the problem might be? Thanks for making these videos!

How well did the car run the last time it was running and driving and if it was sluggish on heels or had a major loss of power then have the catalytic converter checked because these cars are notorious for failing catalytic converters due to misfiring cylinders damaging the converters if driven like that over a period of time and to know if a converter is stopped up a quick way to check these cars is just look underneath the front of the vehicle right below the radiator and oil pan on the engine area and if the converter stops up it will melt that Shield and literally make it get so hot the plastic will drip and that can become very hazardous but a lot of times you will smell that burning plastic smell if the converter is stopping up and causing that melting issue but it's just an idea at least to give you

Hello Jim, really enjoy your videos, also learned a great deal about the 05 and 07 Santa Fe's I have.05 runs great however the 07 suddenly lost fuel pressure , so replaced the pump, now it after about a minute of cranking it starts and runs, BUT if I shut it off all the fuel pressure bleeds off. I can't find anyone who knows where the regulator is, I'm replacing the dampers, will this in your opinion make the difference. There are no Schrader valves to set up my pressure tester.I sure would appreciate your help.

Did they chance this on newer models? 2012 accent 1.6 came in for fix cel today, purge was stuck open replaced and did rear brakes. Go to back out and no start. Scanner was updating so didnt have time to hook it up and was past close and we have it til monday. Got curious if its a common issue with them.
Would this cause intermittent starting (crank but no start)? I’m going to look at this next. Been helping a friend with her 02. Fuel filter changed. Purge valve. Sometimes it runs sometimes it won’t start.
Nice one Jim. Ground on a positive wire would have thrown me into thinking for sure something was wrong . I would have thought the wire was shorted to ground and blew a fuse for sure . I suck at this diagnostic stuff eh :)
Hey buddy, I don’t know if you’re still on UA-cam or not but I have the same car and it’s doing the same thing except I can spray a little ether in the air intake manifold and it’ll fire up. I’m stumped and I cannot figure out what it is. I’ve changed the fuel pump.

@ so basically ether was working for a little while, changed the fuel pump, which by the way the fuel filter is built into the 2005 Hyundai Accent fuel pump housing, that didn’t work. I kept having to use ether and then ether stopped altogether, so I saw a form online someone dealing with exactly the same thingand they said it was a crank sensor so I went to O’Reillys got one from them for like $32. It’s one bolt holding it on. I swap them out and boom fired right up first try.
@ sometimes it would run just fine once it got going before I change the part but they’re towards the end before it completely stopped running. It would cut off sometimes in traffic.

@@jimthecarguy Yes got many codes, but one of them said camshaft sensor , so I changed it and it did not help. Can the obd2 diagnostic test ever give false readings?
Jim you can check for spark by holding on the wire also while you're cranking...just saying but if you have metal fillings use a tongue depressor between your teeth. :D
jim good video thanks being a hyundai tech now i would like to know where that water was coming into the car from and how because if you just change the relay it could happen again . it could be the windshield leaking or some other issue. the leak needs to be addressed . sorry i commented befor watching the end of the video. the windshield needs to be sealed . very common issue with a lot of hyundais these days. if this leak is not fixt this will happen again. jim just so you know there is a tsb on this for a water leak I just looked it up for you on my dealer site that we have access to
He is relocating that relay according to what he was saying at or towards the end of the video.... Also I have a 2010 Hyundai accent and it goes through crank sensors and it goes through the coil packs on either number one or number two cylinder but never does seem to mess up spark plugs and they are common to have catalytic converter problems especially if running these cars for a period of time on a misfiring cylinder and when the catalytic converter breaks up it will sound like gravel sliding through a metal pipe as it disintegrates and slides down through the exhaust which will and can go all the way to the muffler and start stopping it up there but generally between the converter and resonator that's under the passenger seat area of the car on a 2010 that is but this particular fix he did in this video I wonder if the 2010 has that because my car now is down to where it just cranks and will not even begin to start but it does have spark so I know it's not the crank sensor and I was told cam sensor but I laughed and said no because once you start these cars you can unplug the cam sensor and getting it and drive it like it's not even being affected whatsoever or at least mine you can do that with it LOL

I have a 2010 Accent...crank and no spark. CS and Cam sensor were replaced. Car ran great for one week...then died. Checked for spark.. none... could the crank sensor be blown again? ECU ?

It sounds like the immobilizer, the key/aerial that identifies the correct key becomes faulty-you need the coil replaced

Question? From the plug off the wiring harness to the plug going into the ignition coil its not making good connection. Can i hard wire it??

Can a crank but no start problem on this exact car ever be caused by the alternator?
No if the engine is cranking the Alternator and the battery are ok. Did you check for codes?

That's not true. Any vehicle could have a leaky windshield and have electrical problems, it's common.
