It was originally a poem and was later put to the tune of an English drinking song.

And , there would've been behind the scenes previous practice sessions and SURELY the manager's etc and other people connected to the event, would've heard the " star " during rehearsal and heard and seen their " intention " of how they were going to perform it !! And upon hearing that the event music co-ordinator should've then given that individual instructions on what to do and NOT TO DO !!! It's a FAIL on MANY levels !!! 🙄🤦
When I was in middle school, I sang the national anthem in front of my class. I spent the weeks leading up to it reading the lyrics and practicing to make sure I didn't make any mistakes. So I find it crazy that some of these professionals forgot the lyrics. My stakes were significantly less and I feel like I prepared more then some of these guys.

She knew the words and sang them in tune. True, Opera isn't really for sports, but getting a higher spot on the list than that diva-finger pitch trainwreck is unfair in my opinion.
