Just found this, looking for an old pie crust recipe to taste like my grandmother's.. there's a written version, but i think ours is a best guess because she measured nothing! I don't recall her being fussy about it, she just mixed, rolled out and baked. We didnt own real measuring cups until i was a teen. A cup was an old green plastic teacup and tbs and tsp came from the silverware drawer. I'm excited to try this since it's been tried and true from so many generations of your family and I'm off to watch the apple pie! Thanks for sharing!
PRO TIP. Sir you used liquid measuring cups for the flour & Crisco. You should of used DRY MEASURING CUPS. Most stores carry them. THEY come in a set of 1/3, 1/4, 1/2 & 1 cup. Hope this helps.
Hey what is that crisco stuff I have never heard of it Is there another name for it I'm gonna try it thanks for sharing your video beef pies are the best
Glad you enjoyed the video. Cool to see that it reached you all the way in New Zealand. Be sure to check out some more. I appreciate your comments. 👨🍳
The secret of the piecrust is the vinegar. You can’t get tough crust if you are using vinegar. My pie crust is a little bit different. I use 2/3 cup milk with 2 tablespoons vinegar and I mix that together. Then I use 4 cups of flour, 2 cups of lard or 1 3/4 cups Crisco, and 1 teaspoon of salt. When I mix it together, it doesn’t need any more liquid and the piecrust never toughen.
Regardless the recipe is tried and true and is the best 😉. Give it a shot using your "correct method" and "proper ingredients" I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Of all the nerve @pm5039. You probably don’t use your real name because you go from channel to channel insulting people for some thing you know nothing about. I think your video is awesome. Thank you for sharing

I make this with butter. Delicious! Very easy to roll out.

of flour?

Looks good

Are you using plain or self rising flour
Thanks for your comment 🙂Just plain old regular all-purpose flour.

Crisco is a name brand with solidified oils. Creates an excellent texture.
@@chefabomb4163 thank you man I am from New Zealand and I think we mainly use butter margarine or lard over here

That's the same one my grandmother made. Makes a flakey crust.
Hey there, that’s my recipe. Lol my family did it this way.
Nice 🙂
Stand still. Stop swaying. You’re making me dizzy. lol. Great recipe.
If you want the crissco to come out of your jug easier, just rub a little oil inside the jug so the crissco doesn't stick to the sides.
Thanks for the tip 🙂
I always thought you shouldn't work pie crust. Makes it tough. Thought you were making biscuits,
Mmm pie 🥧 🤤
Where’s the thc tho 😢
Your great grandmother probably used lard, at least in the beginning.
Possibly
I was waiting to see how it rolled out, bummer
Sorry about that it was already a long video so I put it into an apple pie video. Check it out
I had a little slice of that pie. Pretty damn tasty
100 years ago they did not have crisco. They used Lard
I love the pie recipe but not the foul language.
I didn't think it was too bad just getting my point across🙃. Thank you for your comment I hope you enjoy the recipe
I suspect the crust is tough. You handled the pastry entirely too much!
Nope wasn't tough at all.
I do appreciate your comment next time I will keep that in mind.
Food processer works better than hands.....hands heat up the dough.
The vinegar minimizes the development of gluten even when it is handled a bit more than normal.

Hello thanks for the interest in my video. Not quite sure what you mean? 🙃
Don’t knead pie crust, please
Everybody claims to have the best pie crust! Your measurement cups are not right and you are using bad salt. You are kneading that wet dough!
Regardless the recipe is tried and true and is the best 😉. Give it a shot using your "correct method" and "proper ingredients" I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Hey lay off the boy .
