I feel like the music and atmosphere of their respective castles/bases reflects the personality of the two current "final bosses" Card Castle is an eerie, 8-bit track that gives off a feeling of dread. And we all know King definitely brings a feeling of dread, his dirty underhanded tricks and aggressive personality makes the castle feel like a build up to a monster slowly closing in on you. It's a dark, monotone building teeming with enemies who seem to question their leader quite often too but still attack you out of fear that King will harm them for not obeying him. Meanwhile Pandora Palace is a Preppy and Motivating tune, hell you even have the Queen laughing in it, That fits her perfectly, She's a huge goof who was just being used by the Knight, and even then she isn't as hostile towards you compared to the king and takes things less seriously. while this isn't my favorite song in the game, i honestly think it does what it sets out to do the best toby is trying to convey this sense of "LETS GO, WE HAVE NO TIME TO WASTE" in this theme, and it works perfectly toby is trying to convey the sense of "this is the big boi intimidating castle", and it works perfectly but most prominently toby is trying to convey the sense of "the queen is actually better, personality-wise, than i expected", and it's beyond perfect ...it probably also helps that THIS THEME IS A BANGER HOLY SH-
I love the very beginning of this track. Every time I left and re-entered the mansion, that drum roll would set me all up like OH FUCK YEAH LET'S GO, FIRE BREATHING PORTRAITS TIME.
The start of a tech-filled final area where you bust into the final boss's home base filled with portraits of themselves while a total bop plays in the bg
This track makes me feel like a gremlin child running through the halls with those Swatchlings chasing me around the mansion. It goes so well with Toby dragging you across the mansion like a pinball.
@@TEBArceus YES, I though the same thing! This track really represents the feeling of WERE GONNA DEFEAT YOU and just the feeling of crashing a castle in other games. Fun fact: If you have the Devilsknife equipped (Obtained by fighting Jevil, and using the FIGHT option) the Tasque Manager has some secret dialog that goes alongs the lines of, "Chaos! No, Order! Put away that silly Devilsknife!"
This feels like a perfect representation of the controlled chaos of the internet in a musical form. It’s so up-tempo and crazy you get lost in it, but you still can enjoy it all the same.
I love this too much. Instead of trying to make a brooding or menacing theme for the "final castle" of sorts, Toby just made a fun theme, fitting of the queen.
This song has such a sense of urgency and I love it. There's so much wacky stuff happening in Queen's mansion that her guests would probably think that the Fun Gang running through is a normal occurrence. toby is trying to convey the sense of "the queen is actually better, personality-wise, than i expected", and it's beyond perfect
...it probably also helps that THIS THEME IS A BANGER HOLY SH-
I love how the Queen paintings laugh all at once right on cue each time when 0:19 plays. Very charming
And helpful too if you happen to hate those firewalls enough to wait for that 4-measure bridge.
0:19 The queen laugh fill in is such a freakin' good part
For real!!👍✌️🤟
The portraits laugh to it!
*One Wipe Your Shoes
*Two Have Fun
*Three Respect The Pottery
*Four Have Fun
*Five List Duplication Error
Normal mansion music: Calm and chique
Queen's mansion music: *Hard and chique*
I love the very beginning of this track. Every time I left and re-entered the mansion, that drum roll would set me all up like OH FUCK YEAH LET'S GO, FIRE BREATHING PORTRAITS TIME.
Chapter 1 : Damn, Toby. This is good
Chapter 2 : Damn, Toby. Now I get why this masterpiece took 3 years to make
Big "Haltmann Works Co. HQ" vibes here
Damn good to know I wasn’t alone
The start of a tech-filled final area where you bust into the final boss's home base filled with portraits of themselves while a total bop plays in the bg
also Berdly in the Queen fight is basically Mecha Knight
toby listened to that and he was like, 'can we crank up the baroque and ska on this to the max, tho??'
very much like the instrumentation in this. the brass + harpsichord is fitting
This is probably my favorite track in chapter 2, it's so good! I can't help but dance!
The oujou is omnipresent, even in the theme music!
King's castle: *ominous ambient, showing a rather depressed and hostile vibe
Queen's mansion: Lmao I'm fukin' vibin'
This track makes me feel like a gremlin child running through the halls with those Swatchlings chasing me around the mansion. It goes so well with Toby dragging you across the mansion like a pinball.
I honestly thought this was gonna be Queen's boss theme, like what they did for the King
Either way this sounds so dope wtf
it actually was
I can't believe it's already been nearly 3 years since Toby just dropped chapter 2 on us
holy shit the castlevania vibes with this one are so raw
ok was it just me or did this whole area have "Origami Castle" energy?
like the overworld attack where the lightning went in two directions, and the music staying on in battles
@@TEBArceus YES, I though the same thing! I think Toby said the battle gameplay of dodging enemy attacks was partially inspired by the mario and luigi games, so he probably knows about paper mario too, tough idk if he's played Origami King, he might just like the older games, either way I do agree with you
@@ricardodct5577 im sure he likes the old ones, since Smart Race is very TTYD lol
I dont see it tbh. Origami Castle was way more somber and dramatic. This is more like dire but fun
just you
LOVE this one so much, really captures the feel of this big crazy mansion, wouldn't be the same without this track
bro if this game already has 90 songs between 2 chapters imagine the final relase
This track really represents the feeling of WERE GONNA DEFEAT YOU and just the feeling of crashing a castle in other games. It starts playing at the perfect time right after you make a plan with berdly (I've only played the pacifist route so I dont know if you do that on genocide) it just fits the we have a plan and we're executing it now vibe finishing the scene gives off. 100% my favorite theme from chapter 2.
I can't explain it, but this sounds like a chase sequence or a montage of sorts and I absolutely LOVE that
I haven't even played chapter 2 and this is already my favorite track.
PLAY IT
“LMAO I should get Toby Fox to make the music for my house”
-Queen probably
This part of the game encapsulates the word zany. And I absolutely love it.
The fact that the music plays even in battle is just the cherry on top. Toby is a legend.
Best. RPG. Area. Music. EVER. This theme is just so goddamn amazing...
The fact that when you think the beat is about to hit then it just loops..
Fun fact: If you have the Devilsknife equipped (Obtained by fighting Jevil, and using the FIGHT option) the Tasque Manager has some secret dialog that goes alongs the lines of, "Chaos! No, Order! Put away that silly Devilsknife!"
And if you have the Jevilstail, she will instead say something like "Chaos, chaos? No, Order, order! Now get rid of that silly tail!"
The Harpsichord: being a part of banger game soundtracks since "Into Sandy's City" in 1994.
This feels like the CORE deltarune edition because the music continues even when your fighting
That explains why Toby made it go so much harder than the other area themes
Remember people: This was all an Acid Trip...... A Battery Acid Trip.
This feels like a perfect representation of the controlled chaos of the internet in a musical form. It’s so up-tempo and crazy you get lost in it, but you still can enjoy it all the same.
this "woo-woo-woo-woo" my favorite part in the song, for that I love Pandora palace so much
card castle was already really nice imo, the improvement on music from ch 1 to 2 is really awesome
Spade castle: Sad and Depression
Pandora Palace: Epik beats and memez queen
I love this too much. Instead of trying to make a brooding or menacing theme for the "final castle" of sorts, Toby just made a fun theme, fitting of the queen.
I might be the only one thinking this but this kind of reminds of "World's End Valentine" from Omori.
This song has such a sense of urgency and I love it. There's so much wacky stuff happening in Queen's mansion that her guests would probably think that the Fun Gang running through is a normal occurrence. This kind of music gives you the need to blitzkrieg through everything and not care about how much damage you take, because who *would* care? There's gonna be a save point after it anyway lol.
This song is filled with "the queen's crazy shenanigans" vibes toby fox is a genius
Its funny, because we know that Queen makes mixtapes, so this is probably being blasted throughout every part of the mansion over the speakers.
Most of us probably associate this song with Susie kicking every vase in sight.
Very Castlevania-esque, love when Toby Fox shows just how wide his range of composing skills can be.
i cannot help but imagine scooby doo characters running thru hallways and crap and the "woo woo woo woo" sound effect plays when one of them most likely shaggy slips on a puddle or something or a B A N A N A
This track fits a chase sequence from a Scooby Doo episode so badly. I love it
Not sure why, but this music alone made me not want to stop moving as I went along
Totally got burned by those Queen portraits too often cause of it LOL
going through this palace was so fun because the music kinda sounded like it was rushing you through the palace like there was a vibe that was telling you to run
Holy this song is an absolute treasure gem the beat to it is just nostalgic.
I just realised something:
"CArd CAstle"
"PAndora's PAlace"
Toby, you clever dog...
What's next? Madness Mansion?
just the banger parts in song= 0:00 to 15:00
I like that this gives a sense of urgency to the area. as if it's a race against the clock to prevent Queen from giving Noelle the Eggman treatment!
