I'm Stoked you're making youtube vids again. I swore by your builds when I first discovered Kingmaker and pathfinder 1e. I'd love to see a build that utilizes the alchemist incense synthesizer in a more martial build using the int scaling bardiche. I think its a real cool subclass and I believe alchemists don't suffer spell failure chance even in heavier armors(I could be wrong)
Awesome vid, keep up the good work!

All the sneak attack interactions come active at level 19 - that is very late in game.
Dispeling sneak attacks and greater dispel focus is very good idea for arcane trickster.

Nice to see your builds again! A cool trick for this one would be getting Completely Normal metamagic on your Sense Vitals, so you have a use for 1st level spell slots. Because if I remember correctly, SV only relies on caster level.
I'd also be really curious about your take on a poison/sicken build. I saw that they added the Corruptor mythic ability that finally makes this playstyle effective on demons, but I didn't have an idea on how to tackle it.

    • @ArcaneAgent
      @ArcaneAgent  2 дні тому +1

PABLITO!!!! I actually didn't even think about completely normal spell and sense vitals. Great idea.
Corruptor looks fun! I'd definitely want to looking into some class combo that deals with poisons and diseases. Im guessing a witch or druid has a lot of poisons

@@ArcaneAgent I think all poison damage, regardless of source, will benefit from Corruptor. Not sure how assassin works exactly though.
Actually, a fun idea would be to mix Assassin with that new Prophet of Pestilence shaman (or maybe even Spirit Hunter). Assassin only requires Stealth 5 and evil alignment, so it should mesh decently well with medium BaB shaman. Shaman, of course, for Stinking Cloud.
EDIT: Now that I think about it, Shadow Shaman is perfect for this, since it gets Sneak Attack, which Assassin has extra synergies for.

Some pointers: I have just completed a trickster gold dragon arcane trickster run myself, though with a geomancer base, not a thassilonian specialist. It should be heavily emphasised that gold dragon is not even CLOSE to as beneficial a mythic path for blaster casters at rank 9 as it is at rank 10 and in the main game, rank 10 is virtually irrelevant. Before rank 10, it increases spell damage by an average of 1 per dice, and gives you plus 3 to your casting stat. The cloak also gives extra spell slots and raises caster level by 2, which is nice. And you can carry over completely normal spell and the improved improved critical feats. Taking advantage of this and specialising in the use of hellfire ray and scorching ray really is the best bet for this mythic path.
These benefits are really quite modest compared to the demon or azata mythic paths. Also, a well optimised build really does want to use empowered metamagic as this stacks multiplicatively with every other metamagic (you can intensify, bolster and empower for a single spell level increase with favoured metamagics), but the rank 10 feature discourages you from taking this, which, to be blunt, totally sucks. Its fine for a playthrough, but this is a mediocre blaster caster for the great majority of your playthrough, because aside from weak bonuses, you are encouraged to leave a 50% damage increase on the table. If not, then at rank 10, a very substantial investment goes to waste.
If you want to take advantage of the gold dragon features, I would suggest focussing on quickened spells (which means it doesnt matter if you are a prepared or spontaneous caster, because you avoid the cast time penalty), and use the fairly decent gold dragon form melee capabilities (with improved invis and sense vitals, you well melee for around 100 a hit with 7 APR or 9 using hammer of masterpiece) and the breath attack when its off CD, which with vow of Dahak at rank 9 hits for about 350 per use, or 170ish with non corrupted gold dragon, but with a dot that lasts as long as they fail their save (and its a high DC) and does nearly as much damage every round.
I would also focus on ray spells as with trickster feats, you are more than likely to get at least 1 crit per cast of scorching or hellfire ray (each ray will roll separately) and the damage will be enormous, as well as instant death spells and CC. Your breath weapon will hit harder than your AoE spells, but phantasm spells and ray spells are how you will deal with high health targets efficiently. You will be spamming fireballs all day without rank 10 before you kill a desolating gallu stormcaller, for example.
Regarding damage of your spells at rank 10, A vow of dahak gold dragon at rank 10 with annihilating breath will average 750 damage, with a 270 per round dot with 70ish DC, party friendly, no CD and unlimited uses without buffing from dragon might. The only AoE damage spells that it makes sense to use alongside these are quickened spells (or with mask of razmir lategame). With a surprise round, you can use back to back breaths in a massive AoE in about 1 second for 1500 damage. AoE is basically a non issue at this point, so again, I would focus on other kinds of spells. Dragon power and, if the much lower DC is failed, dragon storm, do hit harder than breath attack, but thats basically it. For single target, however, hellfire ray will hit way harder than dragon breath (around double without any crit and 3000 if a single ray crits), and is absolutely worth using still.
Piercing is simply not worth investing in at all, let alone favoured metamagic at rank 9. Mythic spell pen plus gear is definitely enough.
Also, bolster loses a lot of value for an arcane trickster. Bolster disables sneak attack damage. You will get 11d6 sneak attack damage with the ineluctable prison book, sense vitals and arcane trickster, even if you skip 2d6 requirement having qualified for arcane trickster with trickster mythic path sneak attack dice. You will also get 2d6 damage from treacherous flame and this also is enhanced by extra damage per dice from gear and bloodline. Both sources of damage have their dice increase to d10s per perfect mind, though are not empowered or maximized. But 13d10 is still quite a lot of damage (averages around 80 after modifiers from gear), and will be trebled for spells like scorching ray or hellfire ray.
Your spells will need to have 27 or more damage dice (even with intensify, most spells are capped at 25 even if you have that caster level) before bolster will outperform sneak attack damage, and this is accounting for the spell being empowered (you would need 40 damage dice otherwise). If you are using ray attacks, the necessary dice are significantly lower, because bolster damage multiplies on crit and sneak attack dice does not, though this figure is for each ray, not each cast, because sneak attacks are multiplied by the number of projectiles. In short, you should skip bolster. Gold dragon Arcane trickster with surprise spells and sneak attack dice increased d10s are just about the worst casters to choose bolster for.
I once took dispelling attack on an arcane trickster as an azata. It wasn't very useful for actually significantly debuffing enemies and had a very annoying habit of dispelling my icy prisons.
Regarding gear, there are some significant misses. The dragon specific cloak is very good (caster level increase, spell slots and significant boost to breath damage) and with intensify spell, caster level can help a lot with spells like caustic eruption and stormbolts, as you will get more mileage out of robes of annihilation (which you will get as an arcane trickster) than robes of seven sins. You will not therefore have caster level 25 just from the sin mage staff, and particularly not if you ever use the gold dragon form.
Not using mask of razmir is easily this biggest mistake. Its a free cast every single round, in addition to quickened spell, and it fully replaces headband of mental perfection, freeing up that slot. Even if you have nothing else you want, the +4 initiative helm is a sold choice.
Also very bad is using the aroden belt instead of the amulet. +1 caster stat from vellexias is far less valuable 2 damage per spell dice on all elemental spells, +2 to DC. This is like having bolster applied for free, with extra spell DC and no incompatibility with sneak attack. The belt of physical perfection +8 can be used instead, buffing saves, initiative, health and AC and threat range for ray spells. The threat range and strength are nice for gold dragon form too. Alternatively, milander's insult does do significant double dipping and actually buffs fire spell damage a significant amount.
Finally, gloves of the neophyte are not worth using. Your gold dragon breath will hit way harder than any cantrip except snowball critting with a x4 multiplier (which will be around 900 damage with sneak attack) and at rank 10 is also unlimited, so you dont really have much reason to use cantrips as you cannot quicken them and them still be cantrips, though you might use a free cast with mask of razmir I suppose. But the main issue is the opportunity cost. Your intensified, empowered burning hands does 15 dice of damage, so neophyte is a measly 15 extra damage. Treacherous flame will apply to every sneak attack for 2d10 damage + 8 with bloodline and the right gear, which is a very similar amount of damage and multiplied with scorching and hellfire ray by 3 and not limited 1st and 0th level spells. More importantly, if you deal the sneak attack damage with a weapon, including natural weapons, say, your gold dragon form with 7 APR whilst hasted, you will apply fire vulnerability and do 50% more damage for 2 spells that you can cast the same round.

my inital build idea for revamped gold dragon:
    2x sneak attack Arcane Trickster/Magus
9 levels of Magus, whichever flavor you want (i prefer sword saint), get prescient strike for flatfooted attacking, spell combat and spellstrike, to have spells sent through melee attacks
Trickster mythic path until GD is unlocked, gets you free sneak attacks, can get imp crit for weapon of choice, completely normal spell
once trickster unlocked, 10 levels of arcane trickster, maxing it out and getting spell sneak attacks
maximizes the bonuses of gold dragon, (the higher spell die, the raised BAB, raised stats, etc.), and now you deliver a melee and a spell sneak attack simultaneously.
floating 1 level, i considered getting 1 titan fighter to 1 hand a large weapon, then focusing Bardiche on sword saint, building around Death's Consonance bardiche, to have a weapon that scales with intelligence and gives you reach
