I purchased this unit from ebay to try out on the farm. The manufacturers part number is RY-B-2213. The idea was to be able to run the pole saw without having to hold a chainsaw or hold the GRM 520. It starts, runs, and destroys brush... So far so good!

Backpacks sort of free you up and your options expand with the different attachments available or compatible with the machine. Nice.
@Henry GREY yes it does. I am enjoying using it. A little different from a conventional machine but does work well with less arm fatigue. Thanks for watching and commenting. ~Mr. C.
good videos. I really like the looks of it
Shadwell I like the looks too. It is still easy to start and runs well. ~Mr. C.
Awesome series..! Very useful guide for set-up and throttle adjustment. Your US air filter is a better design than my UK one, mine is very fiddly to put back on. Question: How often would you grease the cutting head? Thanks for great vid 😎
@scundai5371 thank you for the kind comment. If you are referring to the gear box for the string trimmer, I grease that with a small pump once a year into the grease port on the side of the gearbox. Not too much though. If you are interested in the hedge trimmer head, I do the same but into the grease fitting. Twice a year if it gets a few hard workouts. I spray lube the hedge trimmer blades every use. I hope this answers your question. Thank you again for the kind words and for watching. Glad you liked it. ~Mr. C.
I ordered the same machine off of Amazon got the engine part today. I’ll get the rest tomorrow. Had to deliver it in two separate boxes because of it exceeding the weight limit altogether interesting machine.
@rossieharman2560 that's cool. The only issue I had was the engine bracket broke on the base. Other than than it runs great. I really like the pole saw. Thanks for watching and sharing. ~Mr. C.
Did you research on the black color flexible shaft warming up? Mine is a new machine but it's hot. Not sure if I have apply lubricant
@kanagunbr I did not research the shaft warming up. Your input is helpful. It has not gotten worse so I just left it the way it is. Thank you for watching and sharing. I will let you know if I end up taking it apart to lube it up. ~Mr. C.
Attach backpack to lawnmower seat. Trim fencelines as you mow
@diy7594 that's a great idea. Thanks! ~Mr. C.
How is the back pack brush cutter i have a farm and im looking at that and wondering about how it last a yr later still good or is a strate shaft better long term
@poulin33 poulin I have had some issues with the engine mount breaking on the frame. Other than that it runs like a champ. The backpack unit does not have the power like the straight shaft. I mainly use the backpack unit with the hedge trimmer and pole saw attachment. I would suggest the straight shaft (link below) with the brush cutter handles. I use that machine the most out of all of the trimmers I own. Hope this helps. If you have other questions I will do my best to answer. ~Mr. C.
Very similar straight shaft trimmer with brush handles: amzn.to/423ePWc
Thanks for your videos. I can't believe manufacturers themselves don't put out detailed explanation videos.
Did you end up having to add lubricant?
@altar7 you are very welcome. I did not add any lubricant yet. I ran her the other day with no problems using the hedge trimmer attachment to clean some walking trails. I have researched information about lubricating flexible shafts and found the curved shaft trimmers would be greased the same way. I will make a video about how to do it when I dive into some maintenance and repairs (nothing major) on it. Thanks for watching and commenting! ~Mr. C.
@@NaturesCadenceFarm subscribing thanks for your videos and information
How has this flexible shaft brush cutter held up?
@Tyler c it still runs great. has plenty of power and is easier on my back and arms. I have had a issue with the motor mount bracket breaking where the bolt holes are. I welded some washers onto it and that took care of it. I mainly use it for the hedge trimmer attachment and the pole saw. ~Mr. C.
Does it hurt your back like pain or heavy vibration?
@Atul Shinde not really. The most pain or rather irritation is in the armpits due to the straps. It is not super heavy and does not vibrate much. There are isolation springs between the motor and the frame. They help a lot. Thanks for watching and asking! ~Mr. C.
Always use full throttle, only 2 ways to use, idle and full throttle.
@1dulchie113 interesting information. I would love to hear your reasoning or what experiences have led you to settle on this technique. I have two 35 year old Robin NB26 trimmers that have been ran at all kinds of throttle positions and both have the original engines and run perfectly. Should I use a binary throttle technique for the backpack because of the flexible cable? Thanks for watching and sharing. I really appreciate you taking the time to help everyone. ~Mr. C.
Piece if junk=cheap plastic parts and brand new non-starting engine. Tech literally told me "tengine is dead, get your money back."
@donmilland7606 that stinks. ~Mr. C.
Less throtle... work more like an axe than a chainsaw... small hits
@thomasstamelos3322 thanks for the tip. I will give it a try next time. ~Mr. C.
