  • Canadians spend nearly $9 billion dollars a year on their pets -- that's more than we spend on kids' toys, designer shoes and dental plans! PJ's Pets/Pets Unlimited is one of the nation's oldest and respected pet store chains, but the company has a new President in place, and she's prepared to rattle a few cages. Margaret Kordas steps out of her high heels and spends a week working in her own stores. Throughout her journey, she comes to appreciate the level of knowledge and competence the retail staff displays. While in disguise she also discovers a few costly inefficiencies and wasted opportunities -- and confronts a personal fear of spiders! At the end of the week, she slips back into her designer suit and heels to reunite with the passionate people she worked with. Her true identity is revealed and those workers are rewarded for their hard work and honesty.[23]

That lady worked her butt off and made that company proud, but what she did for that last gentleman was the best. She genuinely understood what it meant for that man to drive big rigs and the RV was the perfect idea. I would absolutely use this company if I lived in Canada.

think this has been my favorit episode so far. She didn't need to spend a ton of money on her people, rather telling them how important each one to her and her company did way more than money ever ould do. It felt like she really meant it. Way to go.

In the 25+ years of working many different jobs here in Canada I have never gotten any acknowledgement from any boss I have ever had. Every episode of undercover boss brings tears to my eyes just hearing these bosses appreciate their employees regardless of the monetary rewards, praise goes a long way.

What great gifts - they may not be financially large but giving the one guy jobs that will enable him to visit his daughter and grandson means more than money. And telling the other guy that he can drive the trucks on their private property was such a joy for him.

This show has ALWAYS been revealing and inspirational . 😳 . Bosses that are willing to "get down in the trenches" with their employees is so right on the mark. Exposure of glitches, but even more importantly the positive standouts is the backbone of the show. GREAT SHOW ! with some really GREAT PEOPLE ! ! . 👍

One of the most important and least learned lessons is that if you take care of your people, they'll be healthier, have a better atmosphere, better morale, work harder, are less likely to become sick, less mistakes, so it works both ways.
It's way better than just gouging them for all you can which is what's happening a lot nowadays.

It's always nice to be told you're appreciated and doing a good job. But she went even further by actually listening to the employees and helping them out with their personal needs and wants. Helping to get the tools and equipment to work more efficient and not make it harder for them. Excellent boss and business woman.👍👍 The title was wrong but still a very good program.

I usually always cry watching this show. Bc, well firstly, I got a job at 14 in high school to help with the bills, and even that young I always tried my best, ( my daddy was sick, it was cancer but he hated doctors, so it went to stage four and he passed in 2015😢) but he was a professional painter and he always said, " Don't half do anything in life, babygirl!" And I didn't. But, this is one of the more emotional ones I've seen. And the guy, who just wants to drive again, ( y'all know he was so sure he was gonna get reprimanded ) and then cried when she said he could back those trucks up EVERYDAY! I cried. I can empathize too, is another reason why. I had eye surgery 2 yrs ago. Not lasik, TO NOT GO BLIND! I've lost all sight in my left eye. And I believe I could do it( I had to pay cash for my good eye, and if I am blessed to get this other one doc said, he could at least get my peripheral back), but I'm scared but when I'd always say before," I refuse to drive, I'm tired of it, and wanna just be the passenger one time!" Be careful what you say or wish for, I want to drive as badly as him. Have been for 20 something years. Sorry so long! Great employees, I didn't intend on making it about me. They're the awesome ones. Great episode. She really has a warm heart forher awesome employees, had me crying!

It's not the amour of money this woman passes out to these hard working people, but the fact that they are being acknowledged for the excellent work, and personal sacrifices they have made to keep their jobs up to par. $$is nice, but just acknowledging appreciation gives such a psychological boost, it's immeasurable. Good company.

Just a sign of where people are nowadays. Smh
Each one of these people were so ecstatic JUST to be recognized for their hard work! Everything else was bonus.
I've worked in healthcare and retail/ food for 44 years. I've trained hundreds of people, managed many, worked for others, helped everyone in the stores anyway I could. RARELY have I had favors returned or heard "thank you". But, I didn't expect it from others, either.
Still, I've continued to give all I've got because that's my work ethic. I do it for ME, not to impress anyone.

one of the problems is thinking in a set way . So an acquired moving storage company loads up the truck without trolleys. And then unloads the truck for storage. (man hours used ) then they load up the truck from the storage (man hours used) Why not use shipping containers and store the shipping container securely in a storage facility. It could have a bar code on the container. Then pick up the whole container and truck it to final destination. Packing tape can be put on dispensers. I have moved at least 5 times and packed each time.

I think $2500 was not enough for her hard working employees and the survey lady should have gotten some sort of a compensation for what she did for the whole company. For a successful franchise of over $35,000,000 company I think they can afford it. This is my opinion.

No 2 wheelers, no 4 wheel dollies, no lifting straps, no back braces, no work gloves, ----hand carrying everything. Looks like a horrendously run operation. The "wood" panels for the crates are rotted. No proper tools in moving trucks for assembling items.

ALL of those board room men should be out for a week as well; they are not really aware of what she says by way of facts.

Holy shazbat that last one really got to me. She had grounds to fire him and report him to whatever driver department Canada has to get his license pulled.

I've had really horrible experience with movers stealing my belongings. I didn't have a lot of money the first time and was conned by the mover/storage people. I'm still dealing with them. The second one were inexperienced opened all of my boxes, items went missing here and there, especially small perfumes and a precious Hello Kitty jacket that fit me well and was very warm. One of my Prada shoes were dumped out of the box and put into another box and smashed shut. $800 pair of shoes. One mover made comments about my items about the designer items and I had to rip them out of his hands because he did not want to give my Chanel bath items back to me. Going to report them if things do not reappear when I unpack all boxes at last move. Movers are sneaky. Sorry. This company may be legit, but most are wretched. She made Billy so incredibly happy just being able to move the big rigs, but to have the RV to travel with his family... he was bowled over with such happiness. She's a nice person. ❤❤❤❤👍.

So I get where Kirsten is coming from, with things need to be changed, but she's the boss and should already know what's going on, especially with the basic every day stuff like having the right tools for the job.
Every crew should be given a standard kit that goes with the truck, and then its their job to make sure that if tools break, they [the crew] are able to put in a replace order. That's just standard stuff, isn't it?

Shunt driving on private property does not require a 1A license in all Canadian properties.

Some of these bosses don't have a clue about how the other half lives. Her conversation tone, her inability to do basics (has she ever packed anything in her life?), her focus on the customers (confusion over the van logos: "Doesn't that make it confusing for the customer?" Only a boss would worry about the customers getting the company name mixed up. It's her first day on a new job--she should be worried about who she's working for, not if the customers are confused. But yes, she needs some updated logos for EVERYthing, and get rid of the Global logos.
