Let's be honest this type of metal is underrated, the amount of stamina it takes to play at this level is astronomical and I would imagine it difficult to maintain this level of playing that why I say drummer are the backbone of music bands a great example of fantastic drumming is Dave Lombardo formerly of Slayer and Tomas Haake of Meshuggah.

Another one I saw does reverse baquet playing like Evgeny and one hand airspins to change the position of the baquet is Jukka Nevalainen from Nightwish ! That means more power in hits ! Playing with tha thick opposite part of the baquets !

This is just the drum play through. However, I grew up on Rush and so I am intrigued by drums in songs. STP and Jinjer, with their drummers, really have gotten me hooked. The other great "drummer" is Adam Rupp from Home Free (Man of Constant Sorrow). Now, Adam is ACTUALLY a beatboxer (as you know) but performs a "drum" solo in the live shows. In my opinion, these three "drummers" (I must include the quotes because of Adam) are three of the best out there right now.
