Another album that would be in that category for me would be "421, the Day After" by Method Man. Or "The Pain Collector" by Vinnie Paz, or "Daytona" by Pusha T. But yes, you're right, you can't compare different eras because the art form of hip-hop gets better and more complex as time goes on (at least for real rappers, I'm not counting mumble rap here).

I recently listened to all of All Eyes on Me and man it's crazy fire album!! Man it's such a huge album. Every song on is literally a banger! I see why Ice cube ranked it #1! Best hip hop album I have ever listened too! Easy 10/10. Life after Death is a close 2nd.

I'm a eminem fan and I can honestly say I don't care about album sales I care about music The artist's lyrical content and for me eminem is the goat and I'm black, alot of white eminem fans have zero knowledge about hip hop alot of them dont even like hip hop but love eminem and its these type of people who I dislike because they are the one's who constantly seem to bring up album sales and accolades and what not And label eminem the goat just because he sold the most , But me I look at eminem as the goat because of his storytelling being able to paint a picture in lyrics that you can literally visualise then there's his word play and pure lyricism no one in my opinion matches his technical skills .

I get Buckets22 it's the greatest rap album of all time but it was a commercially disappointing album, it's really kind of sad that when it first came out no one cared for it but it's became the greatest cult classic for any rap album. The funny thing is it's so good I think Nas himself thinks it was a fluke because he's gotten nowhere close to it again. Also ready to die should be on here.

How can you compare a Double-LP produced by Dre to a single LP produced by Puffy?
Imagine if Pac worked with Puffy and Biggie worked with Dre........ who would be the best than??? YOU KNOW that the production value makes a huge difference, no one (at least no one that understand the scene) believes Puffy is on the same level as Dre. I wonder were people would put these two guys than.

I'm a eminem fan and I can honestly say I don't care about album sales I care about music
The artist's lyrical content and for me eminem is the goat and I'm black, alot of white eminem fans have zero knowledge about hip hop alot of them dont even like hip hop but love eminem and its these type of people who I dislike because they are the one's who constantly seem to bring up album sales and accolades and what not

But me I look at eminem as the goat because of his storytelling being able to paint a picture in lyrics that you can literally visualise then there's his word play and pure lyricism no one in my opinion matches his technical skills .

I get Buckets22 it's the greatest rap album of all time but it was a commercially disappointing album, it's really kind of sad that when it first came out no one cared for it but it's became the greatest cult classic for any rap album. The funny thing is it's so good I think Nas himself thinks it was a fluke because he's gotten nowhere close to it again. Also ready to die should be on here.
@@Dallin-ud9xh people didn't care for it when it came out? It was the very first album to receive 5 mics back when the mics mattered. It was hailed as a masterpiece from the day the album dropped. And 'it was written' comes very close to illmatic so no it was not a fluke.

I don't care what anyone says, Bone Thugs N' Harmony - E. 1999 Eternal is in the top 5 hip hop albums of all time. Didn't sell as much as the albums listed on here, but a major influence and ahead of it's time.
I dunno about top 5 they were some terrific albums from like 93-99 era but I agree with u it was fucking terrific
