Thyroid Hormone and Its Actions (1)

This is the first video on thyroid hormone and its actions. We focus on the hypothalamic-pituitary-axis from the hypothalamus to produce Thyrotropin Releasing Hormone (TRH) to activate Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) in the pituitary gland's thyrotrophs. In the thyroid gland, we also study how iodine is taken up into the colloid for thyroglobulin to produce thyroid hormones, T4 and T3. We sum up by looking into the whole body's regulation of thyroid hormone metabolism.
