If you are going to use this gun at the range the trick is to aim low. At 10-15’ you need to aim about three feet lower than what you think. Each barrel requires a slightly different aim. You can actually get surprisingly good with it but it’s more of a point blank gun. Quality is first rate and they are fun to shoot but you won’t win any accuracy contests with it. It also helps to start out with a larger target like a silhouette just to get a feel for where you are at.
I considered buying one of those about 4-5 years ago. After watching quite a few youtube reviews, I decided not too. You just showed why. Its awful hard to hit anything beyond arms length away.
Cool gun!!! But ya,, it’s definitely a range toy,, maybe try a couple of lead split shots for weighing down the bottom of your paper targets that may help, as always looking forward to seeing your next video! Thanks for sharing!!
For all practical purposes this gun doesn`t even have a barrel let alone a choke. There is maybe a half inch of barrel beyond the shotshell. And to be legal, a 45/410 handgun has to have a rifled barrel which makes the shot spin and spread much faster than a smoothbore. Even the D-MAX Sidewinder 45/410 which has a very tight screw in choke (6 1/2 inch barrel) isn`t much good beyond 30 feet with 3 inch shotshells. At 40 yards you need a smoothbore full choke.
Depth perception with a camera can be deceptive. The distances were as stated. The Bond Arms derringers are high quality. But like all derringers, they are more of a novelty item than a real firearm.
i have a few b.a. derringers with more barrels. certainly an expensive niche piece. built like a brick outhouse. don’t print. utterly simple. multiple barrels. my rules: only handgun-specific 410 ammo. “4” calibers need longer grips. remove trigger guard once and forever. forget 45acp and 357mag. my favorite calibers are 9mm, 38sp, 380acp, which are common ccw calibers of course. with several hundred practice rounds, like any other ccw, one can become accurate enough to 15’.
And that's why they call it a belly gun. At that range a good, sharp knife might be more effective. Thanks for showing it to us, Shep!
Thanks for taking time to watch.
You proved exactly what these Derringer type boot guns are good for 😂😂thanks shep...
It`s a range toy. For practical use, even at a range of 3 feet, there are better choices.
Great little canon. I have the same cowboy model, fun to handle and carry. High quality craftsmanship
You should do a video with it sometime.

That`s about it.
Point and shoot, don't aim.

Next video is a Harrison steam traction engine.
There for up close & personal that's it. That's all you can do with those Derringers.

I have that same exact gun!

Better than a sharp stick ....
Yep. But it is just a range toy.
@@1957Shep Buckshot in your face is not a toy. Just as effective in 380 as an LCP.
depends upon choke & shot size not barrel length. great self defense gun 40 yards.

@1957Shep at 40 yards a pistol is the wrong weapon.
And you can choose the caliber you want too.
you had e laughing all the way , what a nasty little gun

They are card table guns

It didn't look like you were using self defense ammo. You looked farther than 2 strides away from target.

@@1957Shep Hardly a novelty.
