These old tractors simply refuse to die! They were made to last, work hard and be repairable. In this case Dagenhamn (UK) Fordson factory 'bout 60 years ago. And I bet it has a few years of hard work behind it. Food to the table! Very common in Finland and many still going strong.
I have a Fordson Dexta diesel that runs like a top. It looks rustic and cool looking. Only thing wrong with it it has about a 1/4 turn play in the steering. I pumped it full of front end grease because the 90W oil promptly leaked out but the grease helped make it smoother steering but still has 1/4 play. I tried to sell the tractor, but everybody around here only wants the new stuff. Tis a shame. I keep it sheltered and dry from deterioration.
Qué máquina espectacular mi abuelo tenía 2 iguales a ese y eran buenísimos ame esos tractores es un sentimiento que solo siente el que conoce a esta maravillosa máquina 👏👏👏👏👍👍👍 gracias por el vídeo
Nice tractor. Engine is worn, so would need a rebuild before being subjected to any serious work. Guessing it's a single stage clutch, judging from the position of the hi-low lever and the speed of reverse.
Sounds surprisingly nice to me! Well I'm a Massey Man myself but I still can appreciate these blue beasts! Keep up the good work and maybe check out my Fergie vids too, possibly? Thanks Ollie
Yeah that will be another referb some time!! And your Fergie vids are great. We have a Fergie TED 20 ministry of supply pretty interesting and not something you’d ever see I’ll have more videos on it in the year.
Leave a modern day tractor standing for five years and the chances of it starting are probably nil as the electronics would have become contaminated with damp.
@@davehodges6258 Oh, I found that out. One of my tractors sat for only a couple or 3 years. I called my mechanical neighbor who siphoned out the old diesel, put in fresh. Within a few minutes it was running great. I thought that diesel would stay good unlike gasoline. I was wrong. Yea, the fuel filter had rust in it, so had to be changed to. You Dave must be a mechanic. Me, I am just a dirt farmer.
Doesn't need a rebuild that's not oil in the air it's unburnt fuel from low compression from gummy rings and gummy injector nozzles. What it needs is a few hours of hard work in the field loading it down good to clear everything up
@@JackComber1 sorry man had a few drinks and you video reminded me of and old friend Paul Thomas( magpie) from the new forest we restored a Fordson major while we were at sparsholt together. The oil was like Portage but it still ran. We pulled the liners installed new seals cleaned up the pistons and installed new rings, Paul had the valves lapped and injection pump and injectors rebuilt. When it ran for the first time after rebuild it sounded crisp and made good power. We also had fitted a new clutch and pressure plate and I made a pto guard for it. Anyway no disrespect great job on the video.
