Enjoyed the video ,love the sound of the power major great tractor and also the finger bar mower. Have a power major myself and six cylinder super Mjr. Also an fr finger bar mower. I cut a length of angle the length of the finger bar, it fits nicely over the finger guards and looks good and protective. Liam Kelly kilkee Clare Ireland.

I used one of these mowers, incidentally it is an International B23 mower, as a contractor over 50 years ago. I have some comments which you may or may not appreciate. Firstly, you do not have a swath board and stick on the end of the cutterbar. You would never mow grass without those things. Secondly, you have a Power Major which does not have draft or position control so you need to have some depth chains from your top link position down to your mower and they need to be set so that when you lower your mower down to the ground the heel is running along the ground. In your video the heel is up off the ground and even if the toe is running along the ground you are putting a tremendous strain on the cutter bar and in any case you are not cutting the grass low enough at that end of the cutter bar. But that is always going to happen if you don't bother to unlock the cutter bar which is clear to see at 4.26. And please please put some guards on that mower, especially a P.T.O guard but there should be one on the large pulley as well.

Very good advice there, although in this case all it does is the occasional cutting beside the ditch, its part of a collection rather then ever used properly - still valid points though

@@tractorbarnproductions2009 Thank you, I was only trying to be constructive. But if nothing else, please get some guards on that mower. I'm obviously not sure if he is connected with you but when I saw that young lad on the bike cycling behind you and then the unguarded mower I put 2 and 2 together and made 22. That advice comes with a certain experience. Take care.

There is just something nice about old tractors, and farm machinery, no offence to the driver but he looks as though he may have grown up with that tractor, best wishes to them all.

Whilst appreciating the video and certain comments, I find it difficult to come to terms with the tall and skinny wheel equipment supplied for the UK and Europe. In Australia, our wheel equipment for the Majors was 750 x 16 fronts on a cast wheel and usually, 15 x 28's with the steel rim mounted on a heavy cast centre. 15 x 30's were an optional size and there was provision for the specials used in other applications.

Majors in the UK and Ireland were originally supplied with 11 x 36 rear and 6.00 x 19 on cast front wheels. Last of the Supermajors had 6.00 x 16 tyres on steel front wheels.

Fantastic videos!! Will there be anymore mad about vintage tractors/ implements dvds? The previous 2 starring Robbie thorpe and friends were fantastic and by the looks of things there's plenty more to see!
