    Great boat tour. Really like your enthusiasm. Would have liked you to ask the owners why they didn’t consider a catamaran. Do they have any sailing plans for the coming summer.

      Hey Andrew, really good people these two, a cat would have been a good choice however they are not that common in the uk. Maybe they were thinking long term.
      Their plans are to finish the lithium and get sailing in the med. They also plan an Atlantic circuit in the next few years - exciting times for them! 😀

    Ok sorry for the dumb question from a non-sailor here. But what do these people with dogs do for “poopy time” when at sea??

    • @SailHub
      @SailHub  6 місяців тому +1

      Ah…. Well, I’ve seen everything from dogs doing it on deck (sometimes on a patch of Astro turf) to dogs been craned off a mast winch into a dinghy. Whatever works for the dog is what seems to be the order of the day! An awkward question but not a stupid one!

      @@SailHub thanks for the reply! Question of a dog owner who imagines himself outhere at see 😉

      @Jsebs it’s surprising, doesn’t make great sense to me if your traveling a lot mind. Some dogs however are amazing, they owe off the transom etc and “astro turf” seems to be commonly adopted as cat litter.
      Mind you what is weird to me is that most dogs love it! Still, not for me…

      @@SailHub Hunter 420 Passage is top of my list for a future boat. The armchair experts are not just a little wrong… they are totally wrong. They have kevlar reinforcements where needed. Are really well tested for strength.
      Are there better boats that tick my boxes. Yeah I’d rather have an Oyster or an HR. But like to like they are two more like three times the price. And the fact Hunter used to survey to work out what people wanted is seen in the layout. The 420 is pretty much the only centre cockpit where the second cabin os not an afterthought V birth good for a day or two but is a second proper cabin with a decent bed and the head in the bow. Making a potential long term live-aboard suited to two (single) men which is exactly what I wanted.
      And the interior is a unitary body made of fibreglass which is lowered into the boat… making the interiour much nicer and better insulated against heat and cold.
      The basic spec is also insane both on deck and on the house side.
      The only thing they could have included which would have made then even better is a hard spray screen like on an HR.

      Sure are interesting boats. Another similar style of build are the starlight yachts. Designed by David Sadler (of Sadler yachts and the designer of the contessa that changed sailing history after the Fastnet disaster. Sweet boats, super sea worthy, well priced too. Supposedly unsinkable as the inner interior is again separate however in these they are watertight, they are also fast! Maybe worth a look?
