Did you spot the vampire? 😱Thanks for watching and thanks for your lovely comments as always! These woods are a very special place. They're a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and I spoke to the Natural England ranger the day I filmed this. He told me that these woods are some of the most bio-diverse woods in the country with very rare plant and animal species. For that reason I won't be giving out its location to help conserve this amazing place. If you know where it is then I'd ask you keep in under your hat. We need to protect our wild spaces; we've already seen what happens to places that become popular on social media. I hope you understand 🙏
Really enjoyed that, it reminds me of when I was in scouts as a kid, on a night out leader would tell us all a spooky story around the fire whilst out camping, one of the best ones was that of a werewolf that picked off terrified soldiers in a bombed out church during ww2, he was a great story teller, it used to terrify the younger cubs 🤣
Great stuff that's what makes your videos wether storytelling or hiking so great you are so good to camera and articulate so well, you should be on TV mate.
I just paused at ten mins in as you walked into those really dark trees, have no idea if this is one of your spooky prank vids but you do a good job of scary story telling as I dare not press play again. Sat here babbin mesen with me cheesy chips ahaha😂.. ok.. edit*.. I continued. You got in the van and thought we were home and dry, took a mouthful of cheesy chips and looked up to the screen… thanks for that Glenn😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 chips everywhere!!!
Love it when you tell stories!! Agree..pretty creepy trail and yes I saw a RED RIVER!! Thanks for sharing,, glad Finn didn't find anything LOL Happy Halloween! Love from the USA!
Brilliant, you set the scene and you are a great storyteller. It would be great to do a series like this from around the country, you have this knack of captivating your audience.
Aaah! I've felt like that in a couple of woodlands before, like there were eyballs on me *shudder*. Your video totally revived that heebie jeebie feeling! Thanks for putting yourself through the creepage for our entertainment, Glenn! 😅 I was in the Lakes in October and just utterly fell in love with the place, then discovered your videos while trying to find ways to virtually transport back there 😂 I'm definately taking notes to plan my next trip as you show the most gorgeous places, thank you. Will definitely be avoiding this wood though...!
Hehe! Just got to watch this one as i've been on nights so couldn't grab it before, but very enjoyable, as always. We do love everything you put up and always look forward to them, especially when beautiful Finn tags along. Keep 'em coming!!
Loved it BC. No matter what anyone else says, you bring me back to your channel and stories because your channel and your stories and your Voice is accessible to me. Keep Doing! We Hard of Hearing and DEAF (52/12) believe your vids are GREAT. YOU go places and share and add stories. We LOVE you more ❤ Beware the stories xxx
I love the creepy walk through the woods, and the trees are so fascinating especially the old man tree 😮 keep them coming, because I love creepy walks through the woods and the stories of the old wives tales of the history of the forest!! Love little Fin so cute 🥰
I watch all your videos but missed this one somehow. I know it is a year on, but just wanted to say it was absolutely fabulous...you are the ultimate in creepy descriptiveness, lol - and lovely to see Finn along too
Hah! 😂 A very enjoyable story! And a buch of beautiful, atmospheric British woods! I'm absolutely loving what you do! Best of luck for your new year & your new adventures from Finland!
One of these per year is just about enough for my poor heart! Even Finn was showing off her acting skills, pausing on 3 legs near the "old man" tree as if to say "what was that?" I will have to watch last years again to decide which was creepier 🙂
There's a couple of instances I've had, one being in a forest in Norfolk, was walking with a friend and we noticed an old woman stood with her back to us off the path a few meters away in overgrown bracken. She was deathly still for ages staring forward, nearly called out to her but something inside told me not to, me and my friend looked at each other and said the same thing that they weren't human. Also another time walking round Carlton Marshes, I was on my own and felt 'watched' there marsh on either side of the path and I heard low growling noises in the rushes of the marsh with random movement in the rushes next to where I walked, all thickly overgrown and couldn't see anything...I quickened my pace and found the exit 😂😂 thank you great story for Halloween, who knows what's out there 😱
I did enjoy that walk! Fascinating woods! Does look a bit creepy even to an older lady whose lived in the woods across the pond all her life. Your dog looked as though he had a fine walk though.
Oh I absolutely loved this, perfect viewing for Halloween week! I only recently found your channel (the first video I watched was you and Finn camping on the haunted hill) and I’m so glad you appeared on my feed .. thank you for all the wonderful content and exciting walks x
Can you imagine what it was like 1000 years ago when 70% of UK was like that, old growth trees and woods, when you can get your head around that you can understand all the folk tales of witches and goblins 😂😂😂. After all tree's are alive. Faye folks are real.
More like 1500 years before the introduction of sheep farming and the start of mass land clearance. A part of me likes to go walking by myself and experience the dichotomy between logic and imagination
John kerry living deep inside those woods... who'd knew? He IS the tree man,so it makes sense. Great vid...spooky woods. I'd never set foot at that place, so im happy someone will and document it.
Two happier explanations for the stream's reddish colour can be: tannins from the leaves, or occasionally a spring gets a red colour from minerals - chalybeate is the term I think. There's one at Knapwell Woods in Cambridgeshire. The tree that looks like an old man well, it rather looks like an old lady to me, if you look at the chest! Either way I won't be going to look closer!
That little house - no way, dude, that was not there from your last walk. You can tell by the door markings, the condition of the roof & the metal of the hasp, & even inside is been there for quite a while. Appreciate the dramatics but keep it real.
Spooky place, some of those twisted strange looking trees, especially the one like a figure leaning out, remind me of something out of Harry Potter or Sleepy Hollow!😱😂

I certainly understand my friend
Awesome video. I grew up playing in those woods as a kid. Appreciate your silence on the location. Awesome!
I saw it
Brilliant! Just watched it with my 10 year old 😂
i notice the stream had a reddish hue.... could be copper or rust. maybe worth investigating
That was great , probably the best thing on TV tonight, got a great timber to your voice, ideal for ghostly storytelling. Great to see Finn again
Ha ha ha…it was brilliant, hubby thought it was going to be a hand claw showing but just the hint of the vampire made me jump…brilliant.
Started as a doubter, now I'll be sleeping with the light on,. nice creepy vid.
I've heard this tale before!!!! Some say the vampire now has a Mars Bar during every UA-cam video!!!!!
before heading back to the vaaan? 😃
Maybe it's the same spooky dude you saw by your tent when you were wild camping....he's stalking you!
😂
Your a story teller, and your stories must be told, well played.
I remember that program lol!😂
Yep I remember that program as well 😅
"...In Sweden I am Johann and in England I am John..." All my Gen X people know.
I just love how you creep yourself out as you tell the story 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Suitably scared thank you very much

Ohh I reckon you should do more of this , your voice is perfect for it 🥰
The kids were glued to this video 😁 they love your spooky stories.
Great stuff that's what makes your videos wether storytelling or hiking so great you are so good to camera and articulate so well, you should be on TV mate.
Happy Halloween!!!🇺🇸🇬🇧🎃
This has become an cool new Halloween tradition! Been hoping you would put out another new one this year! Love the long slow build up!
Nice Halloween edition! I’m suitably spooked!😱

Hahaha
Bravo. I sense a new direction. Exploring the mysterious and dark side of Britains wild places.
Every Halloween Glen! You go missing. strange that 🤣. See you next time.
I've watched this 7 times and only just clocked the vampire's appearance at the end 😱
Where I didn't see anything!🤔
@@JamieCurranthemagnificent-z7h in the van, behind his shoulder.
Perfect for Halloween. Brilliant story and very well told.
Love it when you tell stories!! Agree..pretty creepy trail and yes I saw a RED RIVER!! Thanks for sharing,, glad Finn didn't find anything LOL Happy Halloween! Love from the USA!

Glenn how about you do some wild camping here? I think it would be great addition to the Souther Fell's vlog :P
You said the vampire was tall, pale and bald. You're tall, pale and bald... Hmm...
You’re going to hell 😂😂😂😂

Too scary! Definitely not going to bed tonight now 😱👍👍👍
Old bugger heard there was waffles in the van, wrong kind of waffle, no wonder he was mad! 🤣
Did anyone else hear kids crying ???
Brilliant!😂👏👏👏👏 that tree bloke!😱😱
Love it. You officially raised my heart rate without even leaving my sofa 😂
Whether or not that tale is true, what a fascinating and spooky story! And what an amazing stretch of ancient woodland mate! Unchanged for centuries!
it's behind you!
John kerry living deep inside those woods... who'd knew? He IS the tree man,so it makes sense.
Great vid...spooky woods. I'd never set foot at that place, so im happy someone will and document it.
You should do more of these, I'm sure there are plenty of places in the UK with a spooky history.
Ha! Great fun, thanks! x
that murder house wasn't there before.. Finn is such a scaredy I knew she wouldn't go in there 😂
Those spooky trees. 💯🎃 Spooky.
