To keep the sides from opening when you are making the bias lengths you can do a simple long basting stitch down each one. This will give it some Texture too

I first saw how to make them in paper and three dimensional and identified as Moravian, but I always ended up stopping at the same place because I could never get the three dimensional portion after these right! I’m so glad to see that there’s plenty of people stopping at that point now, so I don’t feel like I’ve skimped on them anymore! Lol!
Thanks. I have seen these but never made. I am going to make some ornaments with same fabric as the Christmas quilts I am making for gifts from your BOM pattern. How fun will that be. And yes, one is made with favorite things fabric. ❤️

of course they are for paper...colorful printed strips are sold precut and stars are actually 3D fabric is too bulky though...can sew something decent with these strips, not waste them
When I was young we made them out of paper, dipped them in paraffin and sprinkled glitter!
