@@alanredversangelThe fact they added a line in for direct and no need for dummy plug in headphones out as the ME80 needs is killer. Seems they concentrated on what needed fixed or upgraded. The amps sound better. I'd say the Xamps they call which are boss amps sound better here than the amps they modeled. Plus IR support. It's legit. I'm just not sure they built this one as robust I'll need to see. Anyway I still love my me80.
It IS tempting I think we agree there😂 the new amp algorithms and i.r support got me excited, with the reverb parameters were a bit more detailed though

my opinion is a cropped version of the gt-1000, but the effects with effects control are brought to the panel for the convenience of working on stage, the sound is the same, but the possibilities are slightly less than in the gt-1000
Many years ago I used to run an ME-5 with a Marshall JCM 900.......I don't have the 900 any more but I do have a couple of amps that this, with the 4-cable method, could blow my tiny mind. Very cool.

Thanks for this. Most people don't show you the delays and modulation stuff. I also wanted to know what the drop tuning sounds like. Plus, I was curious if this version has a better Expression pedal. It looks like it does. As much as I'm trying to talk myself out of it, I will most likely be getting one. Just when I think I'm out! Boss is wearing me out. lol!
Really interesting to hear the shimmer on your vid, since in another video the reverb section was shown as only room/hall/spring, but I see the shimmer isn't in the reverb block. With the new ME and GX-100 having arrived... I'm thinking it's time to start saving for a forthcoming GT-1000 successor that'll be along any day.
Had the boss gx-100. waaaay too options... I just want maybe a few amps and a bunch of standard pedals, to eventual add a couple of specific pedals. I kinda like the retro look too, no bullshit lights, looks coming out of a 90s cyber punk movie LOL. Straight to the point, I don't need 100 amps and Its great to actually have hands on parameter for effects. I'll probably wait for a second-hand unit, but this is gonna be very convenient.

Me: Hands Alex a stick with a nail, a string and a magnet Alex: Does usual Alex and sounds great. The fact this has A-I-R-D at $300 compared to my GT-1000 and both have foot controllers. I only use 2-4 sounds anyway so mebbe sell the GT-1000 and downsize to this.... Best Regards and Best Wishes!
I bought a gx 100 about 3 months ago. I think i would have gotten this instead if it was available. Same quality of sound but an easier and simpler way of getting there especially for someone newer to pedals like me. Probably will stick with gx 100 since it does what this can and more, but will probably recommend this to people getting into multi fx. The price of this unit for the AIRD sound is so good.
Great demo, great player, really nice multi effects unit. Most importantly, I noticed the ac booster (xotic effects) pedal in the ‘bucket of pedals’ at the start of the video. It’s the most important pedal I’ve ever bought. Also Alex, your playing with Steven Wilson was absolutely amazing. You are a world class player for sure.
Bought one today, I as going to buy an me80 a month or 2 ago but it never happened, then these got release, I would be one of the first to have these in Australia, they hit the shelves only a day or so ago.
I notice Alex had the "Hand of God" patch on throughout! I wonder if that comes as standard', or does it kick in magically after ten thousand hours of practice is detected?
So some new features over the 80. Drop tune, shimmer, feedback, and a couple new drives; a Klon and a Rat. And a bunch of new amp models. Plus the effects loop and Bluetooth capability are nice features. My big question is have they updated the sound quality? I had the 80 and I loved the layout but the amps were mediocre at best and the drives sounded straight up crappy. The 90 sounds better on video but I wanna try one in person.
I wasn't expecting this one from BOSS... it looks like a very compact, practical and useful pedal for the everyday gig... 4 patches per bank, manual mode at just one foot press... I noticed that it has just a few revs but they will surely work very well... not IR loading or stuff but still sounding good which is the most important thing at the end of the day. Very good demo, awesome playing as always! Take care mate!

I have the me70 and love it, and being 62 this is a god send for people like me that don't want to become electronic engineers and program electronics, but would rather play and it sound good. I can't use an amp at most places I play, so a multi effects with good amps and effects is a must.. I may go to the GT Core if it has micro pitch, otherwise, it will be this.. Thanks. Tim
I really love the idea of this but the quality of the effects is really lacking for me to use this busking. THat being said, for a student or a new player this is a great way to get introduced to pedals.

Freeze, shimmer and drop tune are worthy additions fair play. Theres usually a pedal or two i have to use with boss units but this seems to do it all.

Keep your GX 100.. it sounds so good and can do more ....
The gx is more expensive due to construction, touchscreen and extra hardware/software features. The sound quality is the same.

Great demo. Not digging the reverb quality though. Boss needs to revamp their reverb circuits.
