      John h he was ahead enough not to push so hurt that engine. He would have thought that he was in the last lap and the engine was far too wasted.

    I think it’s karma for what Chad did at 5:35
    That’s dirty to come onto the track and try a block pass at the same time.

    I still think that this is easily one of the best if not THE best Supercross races I have ever seen. Who else remembers watching this live with their fucking jaw hanging open from the track conditions? And seriously, Reed's bike failing on the second to last turn still has to be one of the most shocking/disappointing/unexpected twists I have ever seen in a race! Honestly, this race was much closer to an Enduro race then a Supercross race. Who's bike is still working at the end??? YOU WIN!

    • @gypsykingg
      @gypsykingg 6 років тому +2

      tankmaster1018 The best SX race ever was Orlando, 2007. It was an epic 20 lap battle between James and Ricky - RC's last battle with JS and the #7 prevailed.

    Chad reed is such a dirty rider! Not trying to be a hater because he could SMOKE me but man you can not cut the track like that. Of course it's hard in deep mud like this but still not an excuse. Awesome race!

    • @anonnboy
      @anonnboy 6 років тому +2

      Not an excuse, but you either make a split decision, cut the track and save the crash, or stay on the track, crash, and probably end up in 20th+ place at the end.

    • @tankmaster1018
      @tankmaster1018 2 роки тому

      Having my bike die like that on one of the last turns in a race this big would have reduced me to tears live on television... Can't imagine a more brutal way to lose the Daytona then that, especially when you worked as hard as Reed did to come back over and over again after his minor crashes earlier in the race. Not a big fan of Chad Reed myself either, but there isn't a single time I've watched this clip and felt any feelings towards him besides soul crushing sorrow and sympathy. On the other hand, how cool would it be to be Kevin Windham who probably already resigned himself to not even placing in the top 3, and then you turn the last corner and see the checkered flag... I would have thought I was dreaming honestly!

      What about maradona? he cheated, won and womanised till old age I think. James Stewart has won previously and got a drug ban recently. That old motto is not all encompassing

    • @snowzZzZz
      @snowzZzZz 7 років тому +1

      That drug ban was not cheating, it was to help with post concussion. It does not enhance performance whatsoever, it was simply to help with his side effects. In a concussion and injury prone sport, there should be nothing wrong with that. Not like he's doing steroids or something, the AMA just tried to make an example out of him. As for Maradona, I don't know who he is.

    Daytona should be ashamed of the cheap trashy junky dirt and flat track venues it serves up every year. They are obviously too cheap to spring for the professionals that prepare the normal statdium circuit super cross tracks. This is an enduro track, not a super cross one. No one there has any clue about drainage.

  • @Marine1truth
    @Marine1truth 5 років тому

    I was in the stands. It rained hard the whole time. It kind of sucked to watch after 3 laps because it was so slow and totally sucked sitting in the rain. You couldn’t tell who was who after 10 minutes. Reed was always a crybaby ass and was mad that the camera was on him while he was trying to start his bike . It took him 10 years after to mellow out a bit.

    The 'worst skilled' racer (if you're in a main event you're skilled, you can't make a main event without skill in this sport. Mud or hardpack, it does not matter) get's his bike stuck while the skilled one took the right line and keeps on going. Mud is the toughest surface to ride on, both mentally and physically. It's obvious you never went trough mud or deep sand on a 2 wheeler, not even on a bicycle.
