The Segway X260 is based off of the Sur-Ron X electric dirt bike. Segway is a large shareholder within the Sur-Ron Company and as a result, they have developed the Segway X260. Aside from some unique styling, the X260 is very similar to the Sur-Ron X. The biggest difference between these two bikes lies within the Segway Ninebot App. The Segway app connects to the bike via bluetooth and allows the rider to select different speed modes and fine tune the power on the bike. Within speed modes, the app features "Twisting Force" which represents the way that the bike reacts to the riders throttle input and "Limited" is the amount of power that the bike receives in sport mode. "Energy recovery level" is another option with the app that allows you to tune the regenerative braking that this e bike provides. The Segway X260 comes with a DNM Volcano Front Fork and a DNM Rear Shock.

How much is it
This bike makes me excited for life again. I want the joy this bike could bring
I feel this bro. 🙏🏼
I just bought a Sur Ron. It’s amazing!
@1Lifeonearth Awesome to hear! I hope you get one! 👍
@@dirtdad hey how amny miles do you get? 17 miles at 15% seems very disappointing tbh
@@brian4683 Sorry to hear that man. That seems really low. How old is your Sur Ron and what’s your battery management look like for you? Longest I’ve ridden mine was 16.5 miles and I was at 42% afterwards. I keep my battery in my house though and it’s always above 70 degrees while storing. I also keep it above 90% if storing for longer periods without riding. I’d definitely reach out to Luna if it’s newer.
You can easily change the ReGen on the Surron as well. No app but you just do it with presses of the break leaver. You can select three ReGen levels or just turn it off on the Surron
Wow. Something tells me he's been on this trail before. He's Sonic The Hedgehogging through the woods.
@Sway's View Haha, ridden it a few times for sure.
Really Sonic the Hedgehog, wtf are you 50?
@@tonyinfinity So what fucking loser?
SUPERNOVA sonic is for everyone you dumbass can’t believe I have to tell this to most likely a toxic 9yr old
or he sped up the video SPEED A TAB...all it takes is one squirrei, chippy, bear, deer or... Bigfoot and he's airbor like a rocket!...learned that a couple times the hard way. I told my wife DON'T forget to scap ALL my Titanium when I pass... 2 shouldres, 2 spinal fusions, worth more than Gold!.
The tech is realy evolving fast those years.
Looks perfect for a beer-run or to go pick up some food nearby. Way cooler than a golf cart thats for damn sure.
I’d gladly downscale to this, specially to ride along with my kid + imagine the benefit of being able to throw 4 of them in the back of the truck instead of 2 dirt bikes. You can easily invite friends and don’t even worry about gas/oil and have a blast.
Hope you got some. You could also upgrade the battery for more distance
I was looking at the Sur Ron because of the pedal system you can add for the urban riding with kids just can't figure out if you can do the same with seg
@@JohnJohnson-fm7hr i can confirm you can. Its the same frame
@@kendrickmelendez8185 really? They have battery upgrades? What kind of distance can you get out of the upgraded battery?
And pedals? You can pedal the bike like a bicycle? Sorry for belting out all the questions. I always laughed off Ebikes but more and more could see possible applications for one.
I imagine that, as these catch on, people will be more free to ride them in places where gas powered dirt bikes aren’t allowed. They’re so quiet that they don’t advertise their presence like a conventional dirt bike.
I have mad respect for you! I ride dual purpose motorcycles and the speed you head down that mountain is insane! Thank God for protective gear!
Appreciate the great review, the price is nice. The review helped, probably looking at the KTM Freeride E-XC. Just knowing if I want to be more aggressive and develop my riding. For the more casual rider or entry-level rider, this seems like a great fit. Thanks!
Thanks for that. Getting my GrandSon into ebiking and this was very informative. I'm an old guy but raced at a pro level on pavement for over 30 years road the dirt allot, ride a specialized LEVO. We will be picking up a couple of these and modding the suspension. So Cool!
@David Hatherton That's awesome to hear! Glad to hear you're getting another generation on 2 wheels. Have fun out there.
That is one beatiful looking ebike!
thanks for the video and nice riding skills :)
Cheers from Switzerland
@IIISentorIII Thank you! Appreciate the support, love your country too!
ECR I was thinking you could do a Sur Ron riding skills series. Wheelies, jumping, clearing logs/obstacles, etc. I think it would be beneficial for mountain bikers transitioning to a throttle ebike.
I've had problems finding the app to download to control the bike. Any info on what it's called?
@chaseontwowheels I downloaded the wrong app on my first go-around and had the same problem. Turns out there are 2 Segway apps so try downloading the different version and see if that works. If you're still having issues send me a DM on instagram @electricyclerider 👍
does this bike require a bike lock?
Midnight Coding I mean granted you can also do that with most any other bike as well
@@eliotgarcia45 Has a master switch hidden near the battery, then a key, but it's just a sole switch so easy to bypass.
It's also only about 50Kg so I recommend locking it to something.
@@ElectricCycleRider I am a dev so I am not sure if it's worth it, let me know: I could potentially create a similar app for the sur ron. Would you think it's worth the price to pay the $1k for the app on segway or should I get the sur ron x and create an app for that and spend the 1k on forks/rims/tires?
this eBike is less than my DH bike 🙈 only thing i am concerned, you go so much faster almost everywhere, so crashing will hurt also a lot more. looks super fun though 👍🏻
I randomly came across your video, but knew within seconds where you were after seeing the background and hearing the humming bird. I live in Woodland Park and love our backyard to play in. Nice work riding!
@6ix That's right! Thanks!
I am an advanced motorcycle street rider. I recently got a KTM 1190 adventure hoping to venture to the off road. When I realized its been 40 years since I even came close to any trail and I was breaking every rule I teach new riders. Start off light and relatively lower power. Even when I put the best off road tires on my bike I will still be on a 500 lbs 125 Hp monster trying to learn off road technique. I am still between this and a KTM 390 ICE not far off in price until you add in all the dealer fees for the KTM. Plus like you mentioned several times how quite it is so I can ride a few miles from my house and practice in a new development and not call attention to myself. Great review and information!
Thank you for making these videos they are absolutely amazing, educational and a blast to watch. I've been researching and looking into e bikes for my 13 year old son. But during times like these justifying spending that much money for a bikes seems impossible. Without letting his dream of a ebike die due to my budget I wanted to ask someone like you who trys all kinds of different bikes and gets sent bikes if you know of any used or cheaper bikes available that's aren't total trash. Any help is greatly appreciated and thanks again for great video content
@Joshua Hodgin Thanks for the note! The best bang for your buck right now is a Sur Ron X. It's the most affordable option available at the moment and sure your son would love it. Sometimes they can be found used at a discount. Hope you're able to track one down!
That Pike's Peak metric should be a standard measurement! Good job thinking of that. It really illustrates the strength or weakness of the regen offer. When you mentioned changing the tube, that might be a helpful thing to see. I've changed tubes on a dirt bike and on a mountain bike, curious as to how something like this would differ.
@jnicholsonjr For sure! Thank you for the note! I can do a video on that at some point. The tire change is very similar to a moto tire change, just slightly narrower rims!
The red abs black color scheme looks so good.
Thank You Tucker for your videos, and expert advice, I expect my X260 in 20 days give or take. And I will be watching your videos, making my own, and corresponding with you on many levels. This is the video that inspired me to shell out $4,800.....I got 2 batteries
@BCR Productions Awesome!!
How do you like it bro? Do we need licence for this bike?
@@dominicburrows7317 I Love It, it does not need license, however like in Oregon, if I'm in a rural area , no issues, the closer I get to the city, the more the law will harass you....just posted some new video @ BCR Productions on UA-cam....Title "Electric Company"
So yeah the UA-cam algorithm just suggested this video top of the list... Nice work on the channel dude! Keep up the great work. I am all for a fully electric present!
@Vitamindevo Love it! Great to hear from you Devo. Lets get you on one of these bikes soon!
You always do fantastic videos. One suggestion though...upconvert to a res and/or frame rate so UA-cam encodes your videos in vp9 codec. It will make the high speed footage look so much cleaner and really showcase the terrain.
@jeebus Thank you for the note! I will try that. The UA-cam compression really kills the POV stuff.
@@ElectricCycleRider I film mostly in 2.7k/60 but I find if I render that to 4k/60, UA-cam always ends up converting to vp9. Makes pov look amazing. It takes a while for UA-cam to upconvert though (few hours)
being 15 in a small town i recommend you get this bike if you take good care of it it will take you just about anywhere
Damn I bet you are good at Dance Dance revolution because how quickly those trees are coming up and your reaction to them lololol
Dude you are flying !
Awesome bike I want one. That route looks scary af, my back started hurting just watching that
It's all Colorado... me and my friends all bought MTB's and promptly sold them after one season. One friend broke a femur... it requires all body armor to survive. Just too many rocks.
@Mr 300 Travelling Electrician It's a super fun trail! 👍
It's not trail vid if your using hypersmooth bro
I want one in GERMANY. Where to buy?
Im seeing on facebook that they going for 4.99 i dont know how true it is but i want one
Love this! I have 2 Segway E unicycles and have really come to love their app. I like that the X260 is a lot like the Sur Ron X.
It’s actually better. I have one and the Segway goes faster stock. Mine hit 51 mph but with my bag and me being 180 it goes about 47
@@genuinevibes437 Fantastic! Segway for the win!
Without the regen you will go through Shimano pads more often, the mtb brakes weren't meant for this weight. It's a small price to pay for being able to coast more
@Yamaha R1 same here brother well over a 1000
What about heavier riders? A 33lbs bike plus a 250lbs dude with gear on that is already about 300lbs. A lighter dude on this weighs the same. The pads will last fine, since you know, they are for braking.
the bikes are 50 kgs thats 110 pounds
Teddy, could you please share the part #, item info or a link to the SRAM brake pads?
Another great review, thanks guys! Very interesting your re-gen test, please post it, it's a valid test and people should know. I'm actually headed up tonight above Ogden, Utah on a 3000+ ft elevation gain trail ride (first ride on the surron) and I'm going to record battery level at top, and then at the bottom to see if there is any distinguishable gain. Low expectations after hearing your remarks. And my test is not a constant DH like Pikes Peak is....so now I'm expecting that I won't see any range gain in our decent due to all the flat sections. I'll come back and post my results. I wonder if the Surron can even do a 3k elevation gain ride? LOL. We'll find out!
Samuel Bona what kind of bike rack? This thing weighs over 100lbs so if it’s a bicycle rack it better be a really beefy one. I could probably meet up for a ride in about a week....sorry this week is jam packed.
We took the SurRons up a single track trail ride last night with 3000 ft elevation gain and a total of about 16 miles. My wife and dad rode them (pretty slowly) and I was shocked at the range. I rode a dirt bike with them. I was expecting the 3k of elevation to kill the battery, but after 3k ft of climbing over 8 miles they both had 60% battery. During the first 1000’ descent they gained 6% and range went up to 66% from regen. Then rest of the ride had flat areas and not as much DH and when we got to the truck they had 65% battery. I was very impressed by this, was expecting much worse. This means even with big elevation gains you could ride about 30 miles if you aren’t wide open fast riding. I will be posting a video and I’ll take it up again and ride myself at a much faster pace to compare the results of a MX racer riding one vs my wife. :) might want to follow me if you are interested in seeing these videos in about a week.
@Brian Lampright Thanks as always for the support! Great to hear you've got your Sur-Rons, hope you're out enjoying them. Have fun.
I did $1500 of upgrades on my Surron and I can say 100% that you can get a better display with more controls and an over all better bike if you upgrade it on your own.
Havent been able to find the Ride by Wire wireless throttle anywhere tho which is definitely a cool upgrade to have, wish they would come out with it somewhere for purchase
Ferris Bennett what upgrades have you done? I got mine a mouth ago and can’t find any guide to make it faster/more versatile. Please teach me your ways.
@@fjamesbennett8765 By definition a "Ride by wire" throttle will never be "wireless". Pretty sure you will never find one. That said, you can buy one from Sur-Ron themselves. They are hall effect throttles with three wires. They use the typical triangle connector almost everything out of China uses.
@@KenjiFox they have developed a wireless throttle for the Sur ron that right now is only on the segway version. Heres a link for a review of the throttle ua-cam.com/video/Re91nLLYCo8/v-deo.html it's not yet for sale anywhere I can find but it's very accurately wireless
@@solyankaltd.6088 I have bought the upgraded controller, BAC 8000 with a 72V battery from here. ebikezilla.com/en/
An upgraded motor from here.

This website will have a 2WD kit and new controller coming out soon.
racespecsurron.com/racespec/
Right now I have a 90V battery being made for the upgraded motor and I am building a custom battery cover to fit the battery on the bike, I plan to have a custom controller built from ASI once the battery is finished, motorcycle front suspension to help keep it stable and the wireless throttle once it has been released 👍 hope this helps 😎
Thanks for the vid. I really like mine. It's very capable and so much fun to just turn on and ride. I think you are riding it way harder than most people would haha. Appreciate the links to the parts as well. Already looking at that trials style rear tire and better brake pads in the future.
@Mike Bartram Thanks so much! Glad to hear you're out enjoying yours! The Shinko trials tire is great for the type of terrain I'm riding but you can also consider going with a 70/100-19 or 80/100-19(front tire in the rear) if you need a more aggressive tread pattern. Always feel free to reach me on instagram @electriccyclerider if you have any specific questions too. Enjoy the ride!
@@ElectricCycleRider Good info! My petrol bike is a trials so I'm usually doing lower speed maneuvering with lots of traction in the woods. Wish I had some trails like you have nearby! I have some but it's not really single track. More for sidexside use but fun for speed.
Regent is really better for power brakes than charging and for that it's great saves my brake pads for sure and keeps rotor temps down key is getting the hall sensor adjustment right so it comes on first before your pads
Thanks for the information, it helped me ordered the x260 and I really like the bike.Very quiet and is great for trail riding. It's light and easy to control.
@tjmec Awesome! Enjoy the bike! 👍

Besides that great review!!
Gonna get one for hunting !!
Thanks!
you can customize the regen on the surron x too. used the break levers or something to program it. friend of mine has one
Love your videos! I live in Colorado Springs and recently got a Super73 Mojave. Do you think it would make it to the top of Pikes Peak?
Another great video! I’d like to see an ebike gear video. Choosing an appropriate helmet DH MTB vs MX, gloves, shoes, pads, etc.
@ATCr Sounds good! I can put that together. Thanks for the suggestion. 👍
ATCr can’t you figure that out by yourself? Helmet type really? Must be a millennial.
Ronald Tartaglia why so negative? Not everyone is going to have a MX or MTB background. Don’t be an intolerant asshole. Thank you Tucker.
Gotta get me one of these 🥳🥳
Those are some SICK trails- and this dude rode the shit out of them. I want one...
Super review - cheers from ProEbieks - Surron battery manufacturer.
1:29 how is the display already broken?
Dude you are hauling the freakin' mail!
@Torque Monkey Haha! Send it!
What a helpful video, Tucker, thanks so much for posting! I'm a quad enthusiast and am considering an electric dirt bike because they're so much quieter. We ride on legal, private property but new homes are going up close by. I ride in similar conditions as you. Did you replace your Segway's fork yet? If so, what did you get and would you recommend it? Thanks and keep the great videos coming. :)
@Michelle Procaccini-Roberts Thank you! Yes, I have tried a few fork options. More to come on that but it really boils down to how much you want to spend. You can revalve the fork and shock (just posted a video about that) or if you have the money, the Fox 40 has been a really nice option. Appreciate the support!
Wow just wow. Why aren't more people talking about this bike? It definitely gets a 10 out of ten for looks, it just drop dead gorgeous.
Edirtbikes are amazing because you can take it everywhere where a lot of trains are illiterate to gas powered vehicles like motorized dirtbikes or GoPeds (gas powered scooters).
The regen,, to me, is great for long cruise downhill more than for getting range back. Imagine holding the break almost all time during downhiling pikes peak.
I have the ninebot max idk what should it be on or really what’s the difference between low or high so I have it on medium what should it be on and what’s the difference between low and high ?
Looks savage !! great review as always :D
@mikeeh20 Right on! Good to hear from you and thanks for watching.
That looks so much fun!!
Hello anyone know if the phone app is also available on the Segway Dirt eBike X160
Do you have video where you have a larger rear sprocket? I need more rip for mud and hills not top speed.
And I need the opposite ...Top Speed Please!
youtube algorithm showed me this and I love this Sur-ron. But it is over my budget. Can you review X-Class from Ariel Rider E-bikes ?
This is pretty much as cheap as it gets while still being worth getting imo. You should probably just save up for it or if you're really strapped get the bafang 1000w motor and convert an used MTB. With some tinkering, a overclock, and gearing you can make a bike just as fast or slightly faster than this for less. Of course it's going to be a much more involved process.
I bought a Sur Ron from luna and it got stolen in the first month. I went out and bought a Yamaha WR250 R and love it. A 250 that has the most HP of any 250 sold. Can run 70mph all day and still do all the trails.
@Deserthi Bummed to hear that man. I used to have a WR250 some years ago too, fun bike! Enjoy!
I'm trying to figure out between the Segway 160x or the suron x. We do a lot of ruggid terrain. Are the tires the same thickness? And is battery life similar when it comes to harder riding?
Bonjour, top speed?
If you rode a trail like that here in Florida by the end of your ride you'd be completely covered in spiders and webs. Also: great review!
@David Sanborn Haha! For sure! I'm familiar... I filmed this video down at Croom ua-cam.com/video/3vcHRgAbzMw/v-deo.html
Thanks for the note!
The info on battery regen... Bravo. Well done. I wish my sur ron was more reliable. Below 62 or so, power cuts off to drive train. No diagnosis. But thanks for the video.
@Curt Harvey Thank you! I'm not aware of that problem you're having but have you contacted Luna Cycle about the issue? They've been very good about helping through issues.
These are so cool. Would love one for the OHV park to mess around with.
When it comes to Regen, I think it suffers a naming problem. You are right, it doesn't regen well at all. However, I love how much it slows the bike down. I miss it when using EP mode on my Sur Ron. It should just be called Motor Braking and I think most of the criticism goes away.
Well put. I live in a hilly town and I use the regen solely to slow me down on steep downhills in the interest of not wearing the brakes out
@@dylanwebber763 I just love the feel. To me the bike seems alot more stable under Motor Braking than without it. I think not having to use the brakes and whatever little Regen are just tiny little sprinkles ontop of the nice cake of stability when cruising. For the intense fast stuff it doesn't really exist but sometimes I like to have my 3.5 y/o son ride 2 up with me and the Motor Braking is super nice in those cases :)
It is called Regenerative braking. It does take kinetic energy and convert it back into electricity. The name is accurate.
@@KenjiFox Hmmmm I would still disagree. For it to have the Regen part, it would need to actually have Regen play a role. Even with Teslas, they currently do not actually Regen well at all. This has to do with batteries not liking that much energy at once so most of it turns into waste heat in the controller. At best you can say EGB(Electric Generating Brakes) cause the energy is not really being Regen back in a meaningful enough way right now.
It does not regen.
Can't wait for solid-state batteries to make these perfect.
Anyone know if you can fit it in the back of a rav4? What about without the front tire?
Where would you recommend buying an eBike and what options would be recommended for lower budget / starter bike?
I would love to get my hands on an eBike but I dont have a lot of disposable income to drop all at one time, and im hesitant on wasting money on a bike that will break or I won't be able to warranty or repair myself.
Great content! Do you still have the x260? If so what other upgrades/mods have you done And how is it holding up? I have the X260 also and for what it is, it shreds!
@Ocotillo Outlaws The most current build is a Sur Ron X but would do the same exact mods to the X260 if given the option! Check it out on our channel.
So you recommend this I just seen an ad for one that was really good price I would like to purchase it but I don't know anything about it and the price is so good it's kind of concerning is this a decent e-bike?
@@flow_922 do your research! I bought mine new and it still shreds😎
Any bears where you ride? (Could generate a bit of rangeanxiety 😂)
160 with gear! clearly my mans is getting more exercise than I am haha! Thanks for the review!
@TJ S 😂👍
i still like the sound of acceleration and the sound of the engine when you shift gear. specially once you hold the clutch and make that engine throttle noise before kicking the 3rd shift. 😂😂😂
Do you need to register it for street use? I hear anything electric don’t require registration?
Depends upon the state. Some states rate ebikes based upon wattage, if they have pedal assist and if you get that assist when pedaling only or if by throttle alone as well. They typically have mph caps too, usually around 20. Regardless, check your state laws.
Thank you so much for this vid. Can't tell you how much this just helped me decide on buying the Segway

@@ElectricCycleRider anytime brother. Can't wait to Ride
Do you have to use a bike lock for this??? I know theirs a lock for the battery but I need to know if I have to carry a heavy chain
Question. Can you run a full circuit under free coast and then again under dynamic braking and compare the times and battery % drain?
The new sur Ron's from Luna come with an option for a belt drive!
Can you tell me what the benefit of the belt drive is?
Dichotomy & Balance silence mostly, and no lubing
@@lilypower Ok. Would they also need to be replaced more frequently? Is stretching a large concern?

I haven't rode since my early 20's but I'm just curious how would this fair speed wise vs a 125 2 stroke?
Since electric motors get all their torque at once seems like it would be easy for this thing to get away from with it's light weight.
@Steven Vaughn It's a very different experience than a 125 2 stroke because it has a very linear power curve, whereas a 125 is a bit of a light switch depending what RPM you're in.
It's a very easy bike to ride. Probably easier than a 110 4 stroke. And really similar in power too. The Segway / Surron comes on quicker than a 110 in power but it's very tame overall in comparison to a MX bike.
You should try one out Steven!
@@ElectricCycleRider I would love to, I'm more of a four wheeler guy these days (daughter), I spend all my money on her but honestly I don't mind, these days all I care about is peace and quiet.
I bet with that linear power curve and instant torque this thing is awesome in the mountains.
thank you
Looks like a casual care free experience, can't speak on how this bike feels at all, but I have a few bikes, one being a 2001 cr 125 and its the most fun I've had on a dirtbike. Only ebikes I have are beach cruisers that do 25 so I can't compare myself.
Great Review. Do these bikes need Licence in CO, Denver area ?
Rode all the way down Pikes Peak and only obtained 2% regen power. That's a riot. I think it's an industry secret that it's just a safety feature to pre brake you a little bit
Yes it REALLY IS a re-branded Sur Ron.
For almost double the cost?
@@judasblewit Yes. Same hardware, slightly different different software. That's it.They spring on the rear shock is a different colour. Sur Ron must have had a surplus in the red springs for the Segway order because they've started putting them on Sur Rons for a recent order.
@@Dream_Weapon oh wow. Ok thank you so if I ever come up with the funds I'll go Sure Ron 🤙
How well would these keep up with something like a Honda sr250. I imagine the ranges is limited but how does the speed / handling compare
@Mayhem Mahan I've ridden the Yamaha SR250 before and that is one great little bike. So bulletproof! If that's what you're thinking of, the Segway will have more torque off the line up to about 40mph but the SR250 will pull far away when the speeds get higher. The Segway weighs less than half of an SR250 and feels that way when you're riding.
If you're thinking of a Honda XR250, most of the same thoughts apply 😂 Another bulletproof bike that will be beat off the line but will pass the Segway at higher speeds. More range. Heavier and not as nimble. Hope this helps!
Fantastic review!
@Nathan Waldron Thank you!
I run regen off an intermittent button on handle bars so my hydraulics are isolated on levers. Sur Ron should be easy to divert the brake signal wire to button.
Why is Segway $1500 more than Sur Ron X. The Segway app+ speed controller isnt worth that is it?
maybe they bring it to europe .. surron is $5k overhere .. something with import and such ..
I say no. For far far less than $1,400 you can get an ERT BAC8000 controller + NXT screen and get all those features and more along with a 300 amp capable controller. Check out Jack Cecils Sur Ron videos and you'll see. I would not buy a Segway Sur Ron for $5,000 when you can wait a bit, save $1,400 and buy the best controller on the market AND STILL have money left over for tires and brakes.
Hi I work for Segway and we are not $1,500 different. We are much more price competitive than that plus our version has lights ($250 from Luna) and
ride by wire ($ not sure but it’s more!) - want more than black? We have silver, red and blue. Double check our specs and value point and national presence.
@@jackgillin What can you possibly have changed to make the $1500 worth it? Btw my factory sur ron has ride by wire. Afaik the Segway light is the same as the sur ron. And it was $200(not $250, stop being sleazy and be honest if you are going to represent Segway).
So what else? I dont see anything. If anything I want someone to open up a Segway battery pack and make sure you guys didnt cheap out on literally half the cost of the bike. Considering I KNOW sur ron sells these for $2300 before shipping, tariffs and fees. I think you guys are just trying to make fast cash. I hope you dont destroy this amazing platform from your greedy bean counters.
TTmore 1. You are inflating the price difference
2. You aren’t comparing exact apples to apples
3. You have direct imported a bto option most likely. Good luck on doing this on an ongoing basis. It’s fraught with difficulties.
4. You didn’t mention the lights that we include standard compared to the Luna X
5. I do really work for Segway directly and we are the largest shareholder of this platform - so we put our money where our mouth is. www.linkedin.com/in/jackgillin/
6. We are bringing awareness to this category in a major way
7. We compare very fabourably within our category and even outside of our category.
8. Luna only reduced their prices when we came into the market...
9. Your sleazy and bean counter remarks are the least intelligent arguments that you put forward... without substantiation
10 Watch Tucker’s video again - we come out pretty well.
Looks like you are going very fast on the trail.
Fantastic review! Are there any suspension upgrades available for it yet or would it be mostly internal work?
@Sal Khan Thanks man! I've been working with some suspension tuners and think we're on to some great options for the Sur-Ron and Segway. I'll definitely post a video about everything when it's finalized and ready to go!
When you started to ride, I’m like 😳 looks really fast going through those rock/bumps!
Great review. See guys add the lightspeed battery and a controller and go 80mph. Stock is good though.
It's essentially a mountain bike, can it go 80mph safely for years without wheel hubs falling apart?
that thing kind of rips, can you ride that on the road or would you have to register it ?
Sur Ron sells a pedal kit for the bike, so you could put that on and beat a ticket, arguing it's pedal assisted. Here in NYC, if an ebike is pedal assisted and goes under 25mph, it counts as a bicycle. You'd then be able to ride unregistered and without a helmet.
Depends on country, in Canada, it has to be a max of 500 watts, can only reach 32 kph after a certain distance, it must have pedals and there are a few other things. I use ebike controllers with a 3 speed switch, in low bike is street legal, because of the pre-set power level in the controller. Most set them 50%/75% and 100 %. but there are many controllers you can program, yoyangking makes many bluetooth models, ebikes.ca has a compter programable one, the most features of any controller, based on a controller made in Canada by OSI. You really have to check your local laws to be certain, if USA, each state is different.
Great bike!
Thanks for the review!
Oh, and perhaps air plane mode?
@sp pro Thank you! That is a great question. I will have to test that out but I do believe you need to be in service for the app to work.
6 Grand in Australia 🇦🇺 I can get a legal road trail for that price. Looks like a sweet ride if I could road register it.
Can I ride this thing in the streets of Long Island
Most likely ins classified as a biycle
No, long Island sucks. I got a meaningless citation for riding in the street. But I'm in Suffolk.
BING BONG
Bears and mountain lions will be like, f-ck that dude again, no lunch again, cant keep up too fast.
Some people are so lucky to be able to afford and enjoy that kind of toy. haay.
It's definitely affordable to literally everyone at that price. The real question is how bad do you want one and how much would you be willing to save/sacrifice for it? Even if you don't make much it'd probably only take a year or 2 tops to scrape together enough for one.
Compared to a decent MTB...these are dirt cheap!!! Just shows how MTB mfrs are raping the masses!
Thanks for all the info
How about a hill climb test, for crawling up steeper terrain?
16 mies ?? segway claims up to 74. Thats a big difference. ?????
HUGE DIFFERENCE
claims 74 in eco mode. Tucker had the dials up all the way and basically at full throttle most of the ride....big difference. Apple claims hours and hours of web use and music on their battery, but it doesn't get it.
Unfortunately 20 miles to 0% are real world figures, not what Segway is pushing on paper.
You can get 74 miles per charge if you do not exceed 8 miles per hour
Segway is a monster company living off of their stock, they go for show, not honesty.
"Is it really a rebranded Sur Ron?"
Yes.
Next question?
Why next question ??
Keith Reeder is street legall
More like Sur ron and segway x260 are rebranded chinese light bee bikes
@@BrainyBrunetteBarbie
Yes , legall street
@@reee_4067 rebranded with a premium cell. Rebranded yes but it have panasonic cells.
The frame design is a big plus hiding the battery pack , one of the better looking e bikes !
No way... 😳 Awesome! A (sort of) silent bike, how cool is that! You mentioned at 7:25 that it feels like rinding a mountainbike. So in what way can this beast and an mtb be compared? Can you tell a little more on that?
@Bauke van Bloemenhuis For sure! It's about half the weight of a modern dirt bike and has mountain bike suspension, so it feels a lot like a MTB when you ride it. It feels very light and nimble and is best to be ridden that way. Enjoy!
Hell yeah im hitin a tree 😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Anyone have $4000 really love it
4500+tax😉
From Philippines hiii
I'll check back in hopefully sometime this week to answer this. 😉👍
too expensive srsly, i wish ebikes cost would be up to 2k...
I change my mind i buy Escooter
Can't you go back down the mountain on the x220 to to do a test on the re gen aga9the sur ron
Can you ride through water with this?
An will the tires be ok on packed snow?
They’re going to end up putting a speed limit sign on that trail because of you 😅
@Medal Mold Haha! 👍
$5000 and $1500 for a new battery, way too rich for my blood, i was hoping it would cost less than the sur ron, what a disappoint , don't get me wrong, they are both great bikes and im sure they are worth every penny but way out of my budget👍.
Yeah they should make one for less than a grand or like 1,200.00 - 799.00
Thanks for your clear response a lot of people just talk shit with no understanding of the actual value and it sucks to be broke I totally get you
@@inside_line_media and they should make a Rolex that cost $500 but how is that possible how can you make a Rolex for $500 and how can you make a bike like this for less than 4000 it's impossible but it's great wishful thinking
@@MTO_Brothers Then go buy one !
Just ordered mine should arrive on the 30th super stoked !
@Jesse Hart Enjoy!
Thanks 😊. Much appreciated. Do you have Instagram ? Or Facebook
What do you mean by "Open up more riding possibilities due to the quiet nature of the bike"? What does that accomplish?
