Horse racing has had the icons automatically adjusting to show the order of place, during the race, for several decades now. Track got there in 2021, probably because they had a year off from competition, with nothing better to do than futz around with technology. Why did horses get the tech 50 years before humans? Gambling. Why do gamblers bet on horses rather than humans? No side deals can be cut with horses. But is that true? In over a century of horse racing, with all the money being moved, no-one has come up with a way to communicate a script to the horses before the race starts? Maybe. Maybe not. I don't know.
