Also just one thing, leveling up his basic attack does increase the strength of the attack debuff he inflicts on his enhanced basic attack, so leveling up his basic attack can have value
I've been singing his praises long before break dps
Same!! He's my most used sustain, with how skill-point sufficient he is and how aggro you can be with him most of the time. I barely need to use his skill at all, basic attack then immediate ult then enhanced basic attack, healing the entire team with his trace, and with besotted, allies will just naturally heal from attacking besotted enemies!! So good!!
ikr?? me too. it happened during the MOC with SAM in it. hes able to outmatch sams heal block/debuff, thats when i thought that was INSANE for a 4 star. and he essentially works like luocha. when hes in a break team, he does damage indeed, but when hes not...hes still a great sustain
Yeah i builded him and used in in MOC 12 no stop since his release.
Great with acheron, great in dotteams , now broken in the new super break meta.
I think that a lot of people did not build him cause was considered a "budget loucha" , i mean i can see why but still It was clear that he had some ubique stuff to bring to the table

@@jasonkeith2832 unfortunately they removed it, I mean if it's implemented it's broken for break team cuz u really don't need much healing when enemy is broken but its still v1 hopefully they add it
@@zyphyruss Depending on how they want to scale the healing, it could work as a debuff status on enemies that heals a small percentage of the attacker's max hp, which wouldn't impact break teams nearly as much as it would fast units. A unit like that would actually give some decent sustain to a unit like Arlan, who desperately needs a unit to synergize with, and a healing debuff that procs once per character turn (rather than damage tick) would be exactly the kind of kit that would fill that niche.

Gallagher is such a sleeper OP character. Once his ult pops uff and he basic crits for 20k+ you can never see him the same way

Just 20k? Nah dude, Gallagher with HMC is going to be hitting 200k easily with his ult and enhanced basic
Gallagher is probably the first 4 star to outshine his Limited 5 star counterpart aka Luocha
He's better in most battles, but you really feel the lack of insane healing unlike Luocha in very hard battles (like DU or maybe even AS stage 4)
I mean, Lynx outshined Bailu basically right from her release months ago, and we were given her (Lynx) as part of a limited event, too. Sure, Bailu is a standard banner 5 star, but she is nearly outclassed by most healers in specific situations because she doesn't have a cleanse, which can easily be more necessary than just a heal in fairly common circumstances.

Agreed, he always seems too late to the rescue in my auto adventures. That Besotted healing needs to be more anticipatory, not as reactive as the typical healer auto AI.

He’s actually fucking nuts, I just got him last night and used some fuel to get his levels and holy shit he is already slapping and his traces are at like level 4
Traces don't do much for him ngl. Talent and skill is all you need to upgrade and even that is barely important. His damage isn't going to get much higher as almost everything comes from support and Relics. He is so good in super break because I believe he has the highest single target toughness reduction. At approx 7.2 chunks of toughness. At e6 without RM. That is almost 2 Xueyi ultimates.
@@cloudy978 that makes sense, I already has a decent 2-piece 2-piece relic set to slap on him. And I have his light cone at s5 too, and that’s a lot of break effect.

@@brycecai4700 that debuff isn't impactful enough to be worth leveling unless you have spare fuel. but let's be honest who isn't stuck in a cavern of corrosion 24/7 waiting for the speed boots with the right set and subs. ToT
He's basically a Luocha Lite. His ult is like Luocha's field, he can cleanse like Luocha, and Effect res too. The very noticable difference is Luocha's heal where once allies hp become less than 50%, he heals them immedietly.
I'm currently building him, barely started two days ago. Wish me luck guys.
You forgot to mention that he growls during his Burst, making him a one of a kind tier 0 healer
with this ruan Mei rerun and the free 4 star from the event, I finally got him to E6, I got to say his toughness gauge damage is insane, but against non-fire weakness enemies then he is just a standard regular 4 star healer
He gets a bit bonus points in those scenarios for higher skill point positivity at least
Attack > burst > attack, 2 skill points gained
Plus with eidolons gets affect resist buffs
I have noticed Gallagher's potential since his appearance and started to build him even before I got Boothill and maybe even Acheron. He is E5 now, at "What is Real?" S5, two piece Talia with HP/BE and 4pc Thief (CDMG/SPD). His talents are almost maxed, I only keep his skill at 8, since it is enough. SPD: 138. I tried to get as many BE substats as possible (his BE: 109), and he is mainly working with Boothill/HMC/Ruan Mei, amazing team for the current MoCs. Yeah, Acheron really is much better with Fu Xuan or Gepard on Trend of the Universal Market.
thanks for the info! i've been needing to stick gallagher and acheron together for forgotten hall cause I thought otherwise, but it's good to know gepard is better for acheron.
@@Aziraphis Note that in harder chambers Fu Xuan sustains better than Gepard (from my experience)

I'm using Natasha's light cone with a break rope instead, It's working really well!
The fact that on this patch alone I have pulled Clara, ruan mei, bailu, firefly, firefly E1 and I only got 1 Gallagher…
I've heard about a rumor going around saying that they're be a 5* break effect healer in the future... don't know how true that is but they'll properly replace gallagher then

I didn’t have intentions to build him but after seeing him with harmony mc casually becoming a dps and from the story he’s definitely one of my favourite characters now
I Benched him... found him tash in autoplay and re-founded(after 3months, e1) him as the best healer in break teams(and in some acheron runs teams)
I built mine Day 1 because i loved his design, he is actually my best healer, because i dont have Luocha or HuoHuo. 😅
Tbh after Acherons banner I had like 8 Gallagher's, now i think I've reached like 10 or 11.

I am really annoyed at getting only 1 copy of Gallagher, and freaking 4 copies of Xueyi! Oh well, I guess I can get one more from the 4-star selector event :D

I’m rolling e6 TB with Gallagher, Firefly, and Welt. It’s crazy fun. Break damage is ridiculous.
I loved him, even before the break meta.. Since I used him far more frequently than Lynx and Natasha. Glad to E6 the goat.

His heal is good if you constantly attack my fire is squishy but her heal plus hiting all makes her instantly hit make hp indefinitely
Originally built him for Acheron, but now I have Boothill and Firefly sharing him.
Best thing already had him built at e6S5 but kinda having problems building the other three character for the firefly team 💀 since legit only got ruan Mei and firefly this patch and well relics don’t rlly go my way lol

Is it ok to use Perfect Timing on him too? He already gets a lot of Effect Res from his traces so that gets converted into more healing for the team
He already heals a lot you don’t need anymore.
I just like the idea of a battle-healer. And while his preferred arrangement is break, I've found he's not half-bad with the usual Kafka-BS dot team if you don't have HuoHuo.
I accidentally beat moc 11 and 12 using Gallagher with lvl1 LC and lvl0 break rope and hands. Lol.😂
It was a break team with sushang , harmony mc and ruan mei.

My Gallagher has ~102% Effect Res from Broken Keel and some Effect Res subs from my relics, plus all the Effect Res from his traces
He doesnt get any debuffs, wind shear and bleed are myths to him and Kafka is child's play
So now, i got 3 characters to build since firefly came home 😂 idk if i can get ruanmei home too, so it'll be 4 chars if she join the wagon 😮💨
I didn't get gallagher since 2.1 till today all i got is Xueyi and Xueyi from e0 to e5
I actually ran him on my dot team and was quite happy with it since houhou had to be on the other side to stop Kafka from wrecking my shit
And since fu xuan really does nothing for dot Gallagher breaks helped me deal more damage
when i started to be much in honkai i was asking my sister is there something where you do much more damage on charakter if their weakness are broken i was calling it ( super break) she said ruan mei does something but not in the manner you are thinking 2 patches later harmony mc came ot as a teaser and i was so whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat YES got many rolls in break effeckt and not crit rate or damage

I think Quid Pro Quo is generally the best because Energy Regen is always helpful. This doesn't mean the other options are bad tho. What Is Real can be used if you don't have 150BE and Multiplication is good if you're struggling with Skill Point management.
Gallagher's only real niche is the Super Break team, but on it, he's so good. You were exactly right about how you can run 2pc 2pc on him without worrying. I just need his E2 now, and I'm set!
He makes firefly feel so good, I can’t imagine running her without him he helps her break weaknesses so fast.
what would be the best light cone for him in an E1 firefly team? would What is Real be better than Multiplication since SP management wouldnt be a problem anymore?
I personally use what is real just for that break effect even though my FF is E0. No way I’m using a 3 star LC 😂😂
kinda sad when i roll for FF, not once he pops out 😂, they gave like 4 xueyi, but i need one for her to be e6, well at least Gallagher is e2 for now :'D

I was super lucky to get Gallagher at E6 in 2.1, and hes kinda insane with Firefly because Besotted+Advance w/ Blast healing makes it that Firefly keep her health up and energy high

@@Why_AreYou Since Gallaghers healing scales off 50% off his break effect (up to 75% total increase), having the extra boost of BE from the LC makes that target 150Break easy to hit!
Also higher BE=Higher super break dmg in tandem with harmony MC + The 100% action advance after ULT

My run up is Firefly(E0S0), Harmony(E2S2BronyaLC), RM(E0S5Cogs), Gallagher

@@rentaku2692 I thought since firefly uses so many skill points, Galagher need that 3* multiplication LC so he can advance forward his turns alot and generate enough skill points

ive been using him for a bit you can easily hit like 150-200k super breaks lol(mines e6 no idea if that make much of diff) but he hits hard with 4 star lcs heals only thing he doesnt do is not make me sad cause i did story
Is it worth building Xueyi E6 as a DPS in a break team with Ruan Mei, Harmony MC and Gallagher?
I mean only you can answer that. Is your account lacking dps? Quantum? Etc. She's good for sure.
I run her with Topaz and she doesn't disappoint, she's insane at dealing dmg, the problem is that allies or especially she has to reduce enemy toughness bar
Whether it’s worth it, is up to you. That will be a very strong team though, and e6 xueyi is a strong DPS that you can play in other teams as well.

Yeah i use Xueyi in my break team before getting firefly and even when the enemy is weak to quantum and still use her
Small whale here, beluga if you will. I kept him lvl 1 because I landed acheron, e1 sparkle, s1e1 fu xuan.. the new meta is nuts.. I just landed e1 firefly and hoping for Ruan Mei but long story short... Gallagher is WORTH building now especially with harmony MC and firefly. He has become my favorite healer even over my fully kitted fu xuan.
Jiaoqiu will be most probably a better mate for Acheron teams, so that E0 Acheron could also make use of Sparkle.
And the sustain is gonna come from... Where?

I got him e3 on his first banner and built him, love him with my harmony mc and boot hill, shame I lost ruan mei 50/50😭😅 but got him e6 to compensate at least(way to many of him too could’ve been e12)😭😂 I love him, he does great damage and like he said breaking the enemies keeps them from beating your cheeks. So I don’t find myself needing to skill all to often. Fr I built him and he has only gotten better since, way better than most other 4 star healers. Build him cause he’s hawt too ig🤷♀️

I have a lv. 80 E6 Gallagher, with a lv. 80 3* E5 Multiplication light cone, by the way.
It could be like pela and silver wolf when in different situations one is better
I'm thinking, I've got my Gallagher maxed out with a nice set of relics. Any upcoming 5 star would need to do so so much more for me to consider pulling them. If Gallagher is doing his job, why waste my resources?

so let me get this clear, a character who
generates more SP than any other Sustain (up to 4 sp per cycle)
provides more energy than HuoHou (qpq)
can apply debuffs to enemies
can instantly take turn to cleance
can deal over 300 toughness damage to SINGLE target (and 500+ including AoE) including AoE ult break (useful for stopping enemy turns)
is slightly worse than luocha? (outside of break team)

Gallagher is such a strong character that even at level 50 and equipped with an unleveled relic set, he is still able to heal himself and his allies in most level 80 fights.
If anyone actually says 4* characters in Star Rail aren't viable late game and 5* characters will always out perform them, they probably don't know what they're doing. 😂
Back in the days ( 2 months ago ) when I started playing the game I though he is a 5 star character at first. My friends were playing Kafka, Black Swan, Acheron, Gallagher and I was like ( Is this guy really not a 5 star like, holy shit he looks insane ). Now after playing and getting many different character, I can see why he is a 4 star but still he feels to good for his simple kit to be a 5 star. Maybe if his abilities had like few other effects, he could be.
